if you remember I posted about tinsel wool awhile back
and this is what I made from it

it was very easy to knit with, although that may be because I'm used to it after doing the luxe fur teddies
lol

I still have a gold and red one to make,
it's something cute,fun and easy.

and my latest stash of yarns

Saggy old cloth cat...

Who doesn't love Bagpuss?
He's been a favourite with generations of  children since he was "born" over 40 years ago.
Here I've knitted the saggy old cloth cat
:)

he's knitted in Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake Chunky

I Found a place to hang my sweet swingers :)
in the corner of my sewing room,
they look nice looking down from there.

Happy Crafting :)

For those that don't know Bagpuss.. or you just want a reminder :)

Three for a girl...

This old
nursery rhyme  came to mind when I saw these Magpies in my garden the other day...

One for Sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told.

I'm not very superstitious but I do believe in Karma,
So I must be a bit lol
Maybe I should be MORE superstitious, maybe it's a sign ;)

I'm still waiting to be a grandma after my son got married a couple of years back,

I've made a baby Quilt, baby Afghan and now this blanket and Teddy,

I Think I'll have to start leaving a few hints here and there
hahaha :)

Whatcha think..will it do the trick :)

This wool is so lovely and soft and cuddly :)

Sweet Swingers

Hello all
here is something different from teddies
lol

I found this cute pattern online for these sweet budgies
called sweet swingers.

They were pretty easy to make and I did learn something new :)
and that was the mattress stitch!
I'd never heard of it in knitting before but what a great stitch it is

when it comes to sewing up your seams, this is the stitch to use,
it's invisible and leaves no bulk in your work.

it's made by taking a stitch from each side of your work and going from side to side till you have reached the top ( or bottom) depending on which end you start.
make sure you leave a long tail of yarn when you start, when you get to the top you pull both ends and it closes the seam... Magic :)

I also bought these needles for sewing up seams

they are much better than using a tapestry needle because they have totally blunt and rounded ends so you can't snag your work and the ends are turned upwards so its easy to pick up your stitches :)

I made the swing out of a cheap embroidery hoop just covered in pretty yarn
the birds are stitched on by feet and body so cant fall off, the flowers and leaves are knitted scraps of wool.

Tinsel wool...

yep..that's right.. have you ever seen anything like it before
lol
it's yarn with tinsel attached,
it's going to make very interesting knitting :)

I picked up this tin box while out shopping,
I love it...love things like this,
the tyres could do with pumping up a bit though
LOL

I'm using it to store my silk ribbons for my embroidery.
Perfect
:)

Happy crafting
