Feel Good

My life has been so stressful lately. I have so much work: Portfolio, Circuit, Loop, Icon, and my sister's Paris wedding. I got so alarmed because I thought it was a Tuesday when it was actually a Wednesday. Yikes. Not a good sign. The only cool thing is I had such a great weekend which I'll talk about in another post.

In the mean time, I want to share a feel good song. You know how you have songs that remind you of a particular time in your life and it makes you cringe? Well, this is one reminds me of my former lesbian life, but it still puts a smile on my face because it's such a sexy song.

Twenty Foreplay
By: Janet Jackson

Sleep my love
Don't you worry
You just sleep my love
And I'll stroke your hair
Oh the sunlight on your face
As the day begins to break

When you wake
And your smile meets mine ah
My day begins
You're my inspiration
Seeing your face glow
Is the nicest of hellos

Five till noon
You sneak up from behind
Kiss and caress me
Make love to my mind
A whisper and kiss from you
Warms my heart
Means so much
Making love our way
Begins early in the day

You walk in the room
In a sunset sort of room
My emotions light up
'Cause of you
Now that evening's come
We're dressed for us my love
Wine and candles puts us in a sexy mood

That's when we get to it
Close our eyes
Feel our way though it
I can't wait to groove ya
'Cause you sure know how to move it
You've made love to my mind
Now you gotta take me from behind
Just like in the movies
When the action begins

Let's put on a show (Can't you feel it)
And we'll take it nice and slow (Can't you feel it)
Oh here we go (Can't you feel it)
Tell me do you want the blindfold (Can't you feel it)
Tell me what you like (Can't you feel it)
Baby should I do it once or twice (Can't you feel it)
I know that we've getting' naughty (Can't you feel it)
But I know you like it like that

Now that we felt this warm explosion
I know you're satisfied (I know you're satisfied)
I see it in your eyes (I see it in your eyes)
Relax be still my love (Still my love)
Let your heart slow down (Heart slow down)
'Cause I'm not through my dear
Don't stop
Remember twenty foreplay

Can you feel it twenty foreplay
I need it twenty foreplay
I need it twenty foreplay
You know I need it
Yes I need it
24 hours a day
Can you feel it
24 hours a day
Can you feel it
Twenty foreplay
Not yet

Its not what you say
Before we start to play
It's what you say after
That makes me want to stay

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

You're Fat

I always feel for those girl (and guys) who end up having an eating disorder because of those nasty people that tell them they are fat. It was Richard's birthday last Friday so the "it" gay couples Angelo, Xochi, Richie and I headed over to Frisco in Quezon City for the party. We saw some friends we hadn't seen in a looong time. Funny thing, one of them had already given birth... that's how long we hadn't seen these people.

Anyway, one of our friends arrived and the first thing she said to me was "You're so fat! You keep getting fatter and fatter every time I see you!"

I have never ever felt so offended in a long time. The way she delivered those words was something else. Considering I'm on a no-coke-diet and considering I'm going to mesotherapy treatments, and... considering I lost one inch in two weeks, I thought I didn't look that bad. So what if I was wearing a really tight striped green shirt. I always wear tight shirts. Anway, I gave her the most evil look and told her "I'm not talking to you." She thought I wasn't serious because I've never had issues with this girl. She, on the other hand, has more issues than everyone on the Icon staff board, combined.

Unfortunately, that comment ruined my night. I felt bad because I was in the pissiest of all moods. I was being a brat cos I wasn't laughing whenever Richie cracked jokes. He made all these funny jokes and I didn't even savor it all because of this nasty friend of mine. I'm sorry bunnee.

To top it all off, she took one of the tickets I gave Mate who was dying to attend the Big Fish event the following day. Totally not deserving.

Favorite Book

I love joining Friendster and those "fu-me-friendster" online facilities, but what I don't like is filling out those about me fields. I can never think of the right thing to say about me. But what I hate more is filling out the Favorite Book fields because A. I don't have a favorite book, and B. It's embarassing to not have a favorite book because it connotes that you don't read (who doesn't read and admits it... me!). My excuse is, there are those who love books, but I'm one of the many who loves magazines. I get excited when I see models, fashion editorials, stunning ads, and great layouts. Truth is, I have a short attention span and my mind wanders when I'm in the middle of text heavy pages.

So, Pam walks in to work one day and says, "Suki!" and puts a book in front of my face, "This is my life story." Nice title, I thought. The book she flashed was The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger. She ends up finishing it in less than a week, but never really tells me anything after.

After about a week or two, we shoot Icon's fashion editorial. L.A. Lopez, the new up-and-coming stylist according to me quotes a line from the book. At this point, I was clueless. Again, because I don't read. Anyway, Sunday comes along and while I was looking through my brothers stuff, I find the book lying around. I started reading and boy I couldn't put it down. It was a little over 300 pages and it took me exactly a week to finish it. That is pretty good considering I don't have time to buy my mom a pair of loafers she's been asking for in weeks.

The story is close to home not only because it reminded me of Pam, but it also brought me back to New York where it all takes place. It's about a fresh graduate who becomes the assistant of the uber-bitch editor in chief of the best fashion magazine. Uh, Prada as a title and magazine talk... totally up my alley.

I tell Angelo, our associate editor, and he says "Yeah, I read it last year." Of course, I'm like ten years behind when it comes to good books. Anyway, i'm about to start reading another book Confessions of A Shopaholic courtesy of Angelo.

Favorite Book: Chick Lit

Can I get any fruitier than that?

Drama

All this drama in the office is dragging me down and because of it I can't bring myself to work. One of our two publications is folding and I'm really sad because I experienced all the birth pains that went with setting up the magazine. About a month ago, client pulled the plug on us because of budget constraints. As a result, there has been major major major (can you tell how major it is?) cuts in everything. We have to cut staff, cut pages in another publication, etc. Sigh. Just today, I thought it was the end of the "other" publication, but after a few hours, the problem was resolved. It was exactly that...drama. I guess a drama queen like me belongs here...
