Stitching with a kitty.....
.....doesn't work so well! Good thing it has cooled off considerably and I can lock myself away in the craft room. It has been just too hot to go up there. We only have A/C in the living room right now. The little window fan was just blowing around steamy air. Some day, whole house A/C, some day.......
Off to punch! Enjoy your day. :-)

Asher the Cat
Remember the kitten I was bottle feeding? She is getting big! Her legs are so long, but she is on the thin side. She is starting to get so cuddly and sweet. For a while I didn't think she knew how to do anything but run around and bite, ha ha!

Kingwood Hook-In
I got a few pictures of the event, but check out Lauren from Rugs n Pugs , Alice from A Day in the Life, and Katie's blog for more great pictures of the event and the rugs on display.
Kingwood Center has a beautiful garden, so I'm told......for the second year in a row I never even wandered around! It was beautiful weather, but I wasn't feeling too great. I never even hooked a single loop while there!
I bought a few things....a lovely 'rug hooker' spoon necklace from Lauren, a pattern from Donna at Crows on the Ledge....but I am kicking myself for not buying wool from Heavens to Betsy! Seriously, I was obviously not feeling well to skip that! She has some of the most beautiful off the bolt wool for dyeing or using as-is, and her price can't be beat. My husband even told me to make sure I got something I wanted, but after the necklace and pattern I was feeling a little guilty and thought I should cut myself off. Boy is he a lucky guy or what! : )
Here are some of the photos I took of the event. I did not take pictures of the tags to go along with the rugs this time. Again, was just not feeling myself.
There were two hookers in the spotlight this time: Grace, whose last name escapes me, and Linda Cook. I see Linda at all of the local hook-ins, including the get-togethers at Pine Tree Gift Shoppe in Hartville, Ohio. She is an old neighbor of my bestie Kimberlee who is my hookin' sidekick.
Here are the friendship rugs. Each person chose the theme for their rug. It was then passed on to different members of the group (the Wadsworth Library group) to hook a square based on the theme.
This was in the vendor's room. We utilize two different rooms across a courtyard from each other. It's just a short walk and for the two years I've gone the weather has been wonderful. There were even a few ladies hooking in the courtyard as there are benches, tables, and small trees to provide shade.
What's the next local hook-in for us Ohio folks?

Antique Singer Table
Well, I'm not sure how old it is, but it's mine! My sister-in-law moved to Florida and couldn't take it with her, and asked if I wanted it. She didn't have the original machine, but that's okay.
Unfortunately her big dogs liked to chew on the corners. Oh boy. I will add some scratch cover/stain and hide it a bit.
I've seen some really cute Singer table makeovers on Pinterest, but for now I will enjoy as is, teeth marks and all.

Dyeing on a Saturday
Just doing a little dyeing with my friend Kimberlee, hoping a birdie doesn't poop on my wool while its drying on her deck. What a beautiful day! My son will be going to Prom later today. *sniffle* My baby!
What are you doing today?

Busy With A.....
......kitten! We swept up a stray's runt and brought him in a few weeks ago. It was midnight and he had been on our porch all afternoon and evening, and I couldn't stand leaving him out all night. So off I ran to Walmart at 1am to buy kitten milk replacer and a baby medicine dropper. We now have a bottle and he likes that much better. We still aren't sure the gender. Hubs said if it's a girl we "might" keep her. :-) Cinnamon loves playing with and "babysitting" for me. I always know where he little guy is when we let him roam because Cinnamon is right behind! :-)
So maybe next time I will have the rest of the pictures from the hook-in for you. This furry baby has been taking up my free time. :-)

Amish Country Hook-In 2013
We had a new location this year that was brigher and bigger than last year. And the food was great! Cheesecake for dessert! Oh my!
It was great to see my blogging friends. I feel so lucky to be near so many great hookers. Rhonda from My Glory Stars, Katie from Kidl' de Divey Woolens, Lauren from Rugs and Pugs, Julie from Plumrun Creek, Deb of Fly N Needle, Alice from A Day in the Life....I know I'm forgetting someone's blog....plus all of the ladies that I see at local hook-ins and the Western Reserve Rug Hookers Guild. So much fun!
Here we go......
Next time I will share with you the pictures I took of Betsy from Heavens to Betsy while she was demonstrating some great tips for adding fun edges to your rugs. See ya!
