With Mother's Day just 2 weeks away, thought id better get my card done for my Mum for this months post! I used several different stamp sets and products to make this card: All lined up Funky flowers Martha Stewart Leaf and Punch Set Glimmer Mist Martha Stewart Double Loops punch some ribbon and gems too from Sugar and Spice shop. Above & Below - Close up of the flowers i made from Punches, which i then stamped with the Funky Flowers stamps, and finished off with Martha Stewart Leaves punch, (did you know there is the cutest little ladybird in this punch!) this is a close up of the flower, which when id stamped it, and used inks to colour around the edges, i used glimmer mists to give them that gorgeous shine. If, like me, you have a lot of birthdays around March, it's always good to have some designs that you can use and alter as appropriate for the individual. This card uses up scraps that I seem unable to let go of, but it's great to be able to use up those bits of lovely papers left over from layouts. Cut three strips of equal width to the length of the card blank you're using. Then, ink the edges of those in a coordinating colour before tying a small piece of ribbon round them and attaching them to the page. In this example I staggered the ribbons but line them up as you see fit. Then taking a bazzill flower, stamp a flower shape over the top, this is a very effective technique for customising/altering them. Then, stamp the greeting, in this case Happy Birthday on another piece of card and cut out as a tag shape. I stuck a jewel on the star/flower shape in the corder of the stamped image. Then attach that using a brad to the flower, which you then attach to the card.

Now I know I've said this before ;-) but I'll say it again - stamps are so versatile.  Once you have stamped your image in your chosen colour you can then have lots of fun individualising and customising them further which is exactly what I've done on the following birthday card: I used three of the sugar and spice stamp sets to make this card: In a word, love and laughter and alpha.  I started by stamping the scalloped circle from the In a Word set using yellow versa fine ink.  I then doodled around the inside and outside edge using red glaze and blue glitter sakura pens.  These pens give a lovely finish and add that little extra to the image.  I then made a butterfly using the two different heart stamps from the love and laughter set, stamping the larger heart with the yellow ink and outlining the edges with the blue sakura pen.  I then stamped the flower heart in red versa fine ink onto patterned paper and cut out two of the hearts, one for each side layering them on

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share a page I have just completed. After completing a year book that has been a working progress for the last 12 months in a class with Nina at sugar and spice, I felt I needed one more page of the lovely ladies I have spent so much time with, that are now my friends. I used a great set of stamps on this project that include words, numbers and a journal block. I made the outline of the flower with diamonties using an old template I had. I made a promise that this year I would look though old stash and reuse thing that haven't seen daylight for a while. Enjoy the rest of February and happy crafting P x

Hello and happy valentines to you all :) For my project this time I have made a card I used a butterfly punch and cut 2 colours of butterfly. One dark and one to match the card. I layered them together and bent the wings slightly to make them stand off the card. I stamped the quote onto a piece of card to match the card blank and again layered this onto dark card to match the butterflies. You could change the quote to for different occasions. Good afternoon fellow paperholics At Sugar and Spice we're all a little cupcake orientated, you might have noticed this. When I saw this giant cupcake mould I knew I had to have it, so on my last trip to the USA I managed to find a silicon version, making it easy and light to transport back. This was my first attempt using it and I think it's come out quite well. And of course, it had to be captured in pictures for prosperity! I used the cupcake stamp bordered with a stamp from the fancy flourishes set so as to give a 'watermark' effect on this layout. Using a doilly seemed appropriate given the cake theme and the colours, pink, white and brown/bronze reflected the colour of the cake itself. I'm a great buyer of brads, then I end up with boxes of them and using them like icing sprinkles on this layout has given me the opportunity of using some of my favourites from different sets. Well its all about babies at the moment. People are either newly pregnant, waiting to drop or have the bundle of joy in their arms! So it was only right that I made a baby card.... For this card I decided not to stick to traditional baby boy colours but thought the Sugar and Spice Cute as a Button stamps gave it the cute edge. Now, as you know I love stitching on my paper crafts and as these are buttons, I thought why not stitch them on too. This is easily done by piercing holes through the middle of the button holes and the card using a poky tool . I couldn't resist adding a bit of bling too ;) Congratulations Kim and Mark. February has started with a couple of family birthday's to celebrate which means cards to make :-)  I used my Sugar and Spice 'In a word' and 'Scribble Flowers' stamp sets to make the following card: As the card was for a my brother in law, I wanted to make something with a 'male' feel so used strong colours - greens and yellows toned with blacks and whites.  I started by stamping the Happy Birthday tile from the 'In a word' set onto black chipboard using white ink.  I then inked up the edges of the stamp with yellow and green ink and overstamped onto the white image.  I cut out two strips of yellow cardstock and stamped the small happy birthday wording over them to make my borders. I finished by stamping several images of the largest flower from the 'Scribble flowers' set using black ink.  I cut around the petals to make a funky border which I used underneath my green patterned paper as a subtle accent. Hi everyone..........................February already and the days are getting lighter, yey! This month I thought I'd share a cup cake Birthday card with you. This is the nearest thing to calorie free cup cakes. I used Happy Birthday with a Cherry on the Top stamps from sugar and spice. To make the cup cakes I stamped on decorative paper and cut each of them out. The stamp set also has happy birthday quotes too, a must for any cup cake addict.
