Sent with love

Hello All For my project this week I have made a little easy make card. Now we all know diamonds are a girls best friend so I wanted to make a card with plenty of bling! I made the card by layering 2 pieces of pink card stock onto a card blank, this can be done in any sizes. Its a great way of using up any old scraps you might have laying around. I then stuck a diamond flower to another piece of card and cut it out. This was then stuck onto the card. By sticking it on separately I could then shape the flower and slightly bend the petals. Right now for the fun part.... The stamping I used the 'With Love' stamps from the SCRIBBLE SENTIMENTS CLEAR STAMPS and stamped this around the edge of the card. This can be done with any stamp to change the theme of the card. I used a pink StazOn to match my cardstock. I hope you like my card, it can be adapted to any occasion including christmas, you just have to change the bling flower to something Christmassy!! See you again soon Louise x

Gift boxes

Hi All My project this week comes straight from one of Marions Mega Crafting days. She showed us how to make this fantastic box from just one sheet of paper. They would make great place settings for a Christmas dinner appropriately decorated and filled with chocolate coins or other goodies. I used the now iconic cupcake stamp with lots and lots of stickles and offcuts of paper and ribbon I had in my stash. To make the box itself all it takes is a scoring blade and a few folds, then some double sided tape to hold it all together. I used the threading water punch to make the scalloped edge on the top. They're filled with sweeties, intended for the PJ Crop a couple of weeks ago, however, an attack of the numpties meant I remembered to take everything else BUT these boxes. The best laid plans and all that.... I hope your Christmas preparations are going well. All the best and happy scrapping.

One for the boys

Well, the christmas fever hasn't quite hit me yet, it's there in the back of my mind, a kind of whisper that 'I need to start to make my cards and think about shopping for / making gifts' but I haven't done anything about it yet - so this year will probably the the same as all the others in that it'll be another last minute frantic dash to do everything LOL! So nothing christmassy from me yet, but I do have a birthday card to share.  I always find it harder to design and make cards for males - female cards seem to flow much easier for some reason.  So when it was time to make a card for my Dad, I thought I would use my sugar and spice stamps for inspiration and reached for the 'In a word set' .  These stamps are great to use on occasion cards and I used the happy birthday stamp to both stamp the sentiment and to make the centre piece embellishment.  I made this by stamping with red staz on ink onto a transparency sheet then die cutting the letters

Christmas notes......

Well I have seen the Coke advert and heard several song which have jingle bells in, so it must be that time of year - CHRISTMAS! Now for all those people who know me will know that when the tough gets going, the tough goes on a list in a note book! I couldn't live without one. So I had to make this............ Now making your own note book might seem a bit long winded especially as you can go and buy one but this way you can be in control of how big it is, how many pages you put in it and the most importantly, what it looks like! The Bind it all is perfect for making note books but if you don't have one then book rings or ribbons would do the job just as well and I felt the stitching gave it a homely rustic feel. The good ole Sugar and Spice Alphabet stamps come up trumps again for giving a neat and tidy look when stamping on my tabs and who could resist scribble word but with a Christmas touch? Fabby!! So now I have shared it with you I can get writing my lists, my wish list
Five weeks and a bit to go and my head is spinning with the thought of gift ideas. After making homemade jams and chutneys, presenting them is a job in itself, but a little help with some fab stamps makes it all a little easier. For my lid cover I used a christmas sentiment stamp and a snowflake stamp from designs created by Marion Emberson at sugar and spice. Funky alpha stamps are great for labels and by adding glossy accents gives great dimension. And finally a tag finishes off the gift bag, I stamped this Ho Ho Ho with a glue pad and then covered with gold glamour dust. Bye for now and happy crafting for christmas P x

Friends

This week marked my friends 30th birthday, so the girls and I threw her a party. I wanted to get a photo of us all together, My bestest friends!! So I just had to scrap the photo. I used a small flower stamp from the SCRIBBLE SENTIMENTS CLEAR STAMPS to create a little flower border which I added a little bling to. I also used the FAT & FUNKY ALPHA STAMPS to create a small title. I added bling and felt flowers to represent the glitz of the party. Happy Birthday Sarah x x Hope you liked x x
First of all, an apology, I'm a bit late with this posting. So, before the Christmas season grips us fully, if it hasn't already in your house, I thought I'd do a layout that didn't include red, green or sparkles. This picture is of my Aunt Edith, and her son and daughter and grandchildren, my 'extended' immediate family. I let the paper lead the way on this one, using the blue writing on the pattern to give an accent colour. I stamped an L shaped border on vellum using the Scribble Flowers stamps without the words, and used the same set for the handmade embellishment. Making your own embellishments like this really makes a layout unique and very personal to you, it also allows you to make things exactly in the colours, sizes and textures you want. And in this current financial climate it makes good money sense too. Stamps are an excellent investment for scrapbooking as they are so versatile and can be used again and again. The flower was made from a punched ou

Happy birthday Elli Woo!

Well that's it, my baby is 6! For Elli's birthday she had an ice skating party. Now this party was very well organized by the skating rink so much so that I felt unorganized as I hadn't had to do anything! Now to feel like I had something to do with the party apart from pay, I decided to make some personalised part bags for the kids I was worried that the kids wouldn't give a stuff what was on the front of their bags but the whoops of joy said it all! The Fat and Funky alpha is a set of stamps I cant help but grab for when ever I need an alphabet. A simple paper bag and a bit of glitter as can make a little project fab!. How about a 'goody bag' for the kids on Christmas day? This way the bag will double as a place card and the kids are quite during the yummy dinner. Happy Birthday Elli Woo! Love and bugs Nina x

Autumn glory

Hello everyone, One of my favourite Sunday pastimes is to take myself off for a woodland walk and two of my favourite seasons to do so are Spring and Autumn. I wanted to create a LO with contrasting scenes from my walks and used stamps from the Alpha set to help me create the look I wanted. I started by using the small swirl stamp from the Alpha set to stamp a continuous border onto yellow cardstock. I used two different colours - toffee and green moss versafine inks, overlapping the two. I then placed my border on my page to create a link between the two photographs. I then used the lowercase alpha letters to stamp around the circular frame for the smaller photo and to make the letter tiles which form part of the title. The patterned papers I have used are from bobunny - calypso and Magenta - shades of the season ranges. TFL, big smiles, Nic xo.

Button Wreath

Well it's countdown till the big day. And I'm getting all festive. So I'm thinking Christmas decks and the lovely Cute As A Button stamps from Sugar and Spice and came up with a Button Wreath. I mixed red and green ink pads and paper and traditional buttons. I love red and green for Christmas. I painted a polystyrene wreath with dark green acrylic crafters paint as a base so that the gaps between the buttons did not show through. Some buttons were stamped on patterned paper, some on plain cardstock . Some I covered with Glossy Accent and some I edged with Glamour Dust. Some I tied with thin red ribbon and some I pinned onto the wreath with pearl topped pins. I joined together J O Y with Glossy Accent, painted them a Christmas red with acrylic crafters paint, then covered with glue and red glitter from the Pink Paislee Pixee Stix -Strawberry colour. I hung this in my hall to take the pic and the postman just remark " bla bla bla your early but I like tha
