Christmas Die cuts

I've noticed that there is a new Christmas Challenge blog on block, Christmas Kickstart Challenge. I think it a two week challenge and this time they are asking for cards with die cuts. For my card I have used a die from Spellbinders that was released last year in a bundle of Christmas themed dies. I cut it from black card and then with some textured wallpaper that I found in a DIY store (I took a largish sample) I made a backing paper. It has a rather nice silver sheen to it and there was enough there to make 9 cards all the same. I'm off now to join in the challenge.

I'm not sure how I've managed to post everyday this week, hope I can keep it up.
Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Wedding

The current Challenge over on the My Time To Craft blog is Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement. I always have room in my ready box for a wedding card so with this in mind I made this card for the challenge. I used an 8x8 card base and silver card for the matting and some of the die cuts. The backing paper is from a Joanna Sheen CD, Holly Pond Hill and the stamp is an old one from Lily Of The Valley. I coloured the image using colour pencils and then cut and mounted onto a Spellbinders die cut. I've used a Marianne die for the corners and some flowers that I won sometime ago from another challenge. The sentiment was made on the PC.

Pixies Snippets Playground.

Time again to visit Pixies Snippets Playground and this week I have a card that was a request from my Sister. Its an 8x8 card base and the image is a Lili Of The Valley stamp (one from the bundle that my friend got for from the Car Boot Sale), stamped in Black Onyx and coloured with pencils. I then cut out the image using a Spellbinders die and cut another using a fancy edged die also from Spellbinders. I printed the backing papers from  a Sue Smith CD that I've had for years and used a fuchsia coloured card stock for the matting and corners. The ribbon is some that I've had in my stash for sometime and this was the last of it. The flowers have been made using Tattered Lace trio dies and some white card off cuts from my scraps box, I just went around the outside of the petals with a pink blending sponge. The fern is also a Tattered Lace die and also used some more off cuts from the scraps box.

As well as entering this into the challenge over at Pixies Snippets Corner, I would also like to enter this into the current challenge over at Artistic Inspirations which is Anything Goes.

Thank you for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

A New Forest Wedding

My sister has just been to a wedding that was held in the New Forest. So when she asked me to make a card for her this gorgeous image from Lili Of The Valley was what popped into my head. I stamped onto white card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils, giving the veil a touch of Wink Of Stella. I then cut the image out using a Spellbinders die and another to back it onto. The corners were cut with a Crealies die as were the flowers. I created the sentiment on my PC and printed on a laser printer then put it through the laminator with some silver foil. I know my sister was pleased with the end result, hopefully the bride and groom were too.

I would like to enter this into the Stamping Sensations challenge this month which is Anything Goes.
Last month I was lucky enough to win the fantastic prize of ribbons and embellishments. The photo did not do the prize justice.

Thanks for taking a look and for your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Craft A Scene - Trees - Week 1

A new month and a new challenge over on the Craft A Scene blog. This month we would like to see your scenes include trees. For my scene I've used mainly stamps from Stamp Addicts to create this scene of the English countryside, which shows how the land is broken up with hedgerows and trees. I decided to make it an Autumnal scene showing trees that have lost their leaves, evergreen trees, and hedgerows that have their leave turning. Very often in the Countryside around the area which I live you will often see deer grazing, so I've popped a couple into the fore ground of my scene. These stamps were from Hobby Art. I coloured the whole scene with pencils and finished by going around the edge of the card with a Gold pen, before popping onto a 6x6 green card base. I do hope you'll take the time to pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at the wonderful inspiration the DT has made for you this month.

CD Sunday - Scentimental

Time again for another new challenge over on the CD Sunday blog, and as it's the beginning of the month we have a sponsor. This month it's Jems Designs and the lovely ladies have given us a CD to play with, it's the gorgeous Scentimental CD, this is also the prize that's up for grabs too. I went for something a bit different this week with my card. Using the Grand Decorative Circles Dies from Spellbinders I cut out two of the largest circles in this lovely bright orange card. then glued the top together to make a card. I then cut the backing paper to match the shape and after sticking it to the base I went around the edge with some peeloffs that I had in my stash. Next using the smallest circle in the set I cut out a circle in a cream card. There is a section on the CD that has circular toppers on and this one fitted perfectly. From the embellishments on the CD I cut out the matching bottle of perfume, and the sentiment "Daughter", after shaping a little in my hand i used some glue gel to pop it onto the card. Finally I added some flowers with pearl in the centres some leaves and some swirls. As I was finishing making an envelope for this card, a friend turned up, fell in love with the card, and bought it off of me there and then. I had to take the photo quickly before she could take it.

This month we have Anne as our Guest for the month, and both Anne and the design team have made some gorgeous inspiration cards for you. Do pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at them, and why not join in as well, we all love to look at what you've made.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and your kind comments which are always appreciated.
