AMSTERDAM + BERLIN

1 of the 1500 canals. Pretty.

Oooh. Fitting that into the itinerary.

Today I was in the presence of two art Gods. Van Gogh and Rembrandt. This one is the original Night Watch. I can stay and look at his work for hours. #wow

Going for a Rick Owens vibe here. Off to the canal cruise.

Quintessentially Amsterdam---except for that jet trail in the sky.

Had dinner in a beautiful greenhouse. Andof course the food resembled a pretty garden. Aubergine with edible petals. Strange but good. =)

How crazy is this giant aquarium in our hotel lobby? No sharks though. =(

Followed the fashion kids here. Turns out, it was the venue for a grad show of one fashion university. Wish I had the time to sit in. =(

At least this fashion rumor is true. Yes, the Japanese brand that creates great basics as "component wear" is finally opening it's massive 1,500 square meter flagship store in the Mall of Asia. Don't panic though because it's not until June. And I'm pretty sure I'll be updating you guys when it's close to launching.

I'm psyched that they're here because I really swear by their button-downs.. Crisp, tailored and non crease! Rigid collars that keep their shape and buttons that stay firmly in place. I hate it when poor construction/loose thread result in lost buttons. Argh. But yeah, Uniqlo's version is pretty much my favorite. Doesn't even matter that I get it from the mens section. They're also bringing in their UT (Uniqlo Tees) line, which always has a great roster of collabs. The last one I bought was in collaboration with MoMA curated artists. Pa-culture. Heeh.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADS!

Third year in a row. Present! Liz's birthday will always be an event. In other words, dress code: similarly enforced. Not verbally on the invitation though, but just as a self pressure thing knowing that it will be a fashion fete. Harder still is that it's a Sunday---so it should be party dressing that's not too contrived. Decided to ditch the plunging scarf dress for a more laidback t-shirt and boots combo. More than worked and its so comfortably me.
