Hero Arts December Challenge entry "Pocket cards"

So I've never participated in a challenge before so I decided to give it a try. I entered in the 2nd round of the Hero Arts December Challenge for "Pocket Cards". I felt like being creative and had a few new sets I wanted to use. Here is what I came up with...
Here is the card with a gift card tucked in the pocket
I created the background using a white piece of card stock and temp. Adhering some punched out clouds using the fiskar cloud punches. I then used Broken China and Stormy Sky Distresss inks. I peeled off the cloud masks and stamped the whole thing using Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background stamp using Broken China. I then sprayed the whole thing with perfert pearls. For the grass I uses Shabby Shutters and Peeled Pain Distress inks, then punched the top with the Martha Stewart grass border punch, again spraying with perfect pearls.

For the butterflies I stamped Hero Arts Antique Flowers and Butterflies (Stamp & Cut set) with versamark and used black embossing powder. I then cut them out with the Sizzix dies that go with the set. After I cut them out I used Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick Distress inks for the butterflies. I then cut off the antennae and added wire that I had curled and adhered it with glue dots inbetween the 2 layers. I then bent the top layer wings up to add dimension and added different color stickles for bling and color.

The sentiment is stamped with versamark and embossed with black embossing powder using Hero Arts Sending Smiles Messages stamp set. I distressed it with Broken China ink, added the envelope background and twine and poped it up with pop dots.

To finish it off just add your giftcard or money.

Understanding fractions in a (s)inch - Ruler Rules

Happy Thursday everyone,

Well my classes for December are over and I had a great turnout at both my "Explosion Box" classes. I had 8 lovely ladies at my Saturday class and 7 at my Thursday class. As I was making my samples, I decided to make instructions to go along with them. That way the ladies taking my class could go home and make more without having to remember and figure out what I said in class. (I'll post the instructions later) As I made them, I was using my paper cuter to trim the paper etc and realized that I really didn't know off hand what the little lines were in fractions to add to my instructions. So each time I had to count the lines and figure it out. I'm a VERY visual person so I made a little 1 inch graph for myself to use. Then I decided that I should share this information with everyone incase they are confused like I was. I hope this helps. Please feel free to pass it along as well, I just ask that you give me credit. Thanks! Gina
