More Nadia from May Trip

Believe it or not folks it takes 4 attempts count them, uno, dos, tres, quatro to get one bite of cereal to stay in Nadia's little mouth, she is so cute she spits it out each time!

She is our fuzzy little duck!

This is me giving her a bath on the floor (Bathtubs are an extreme luxury and uncommon in Guate)

So, I finally had the mental courage, desire and time to upload more pics of our beautiful angel. June 4 we are expecting another update but we still HAVE NO TIMETABLE for bringing her home. Once again thanks for your continued prayers and support friends and family! Enjoy

CHAMPIONS!

As most of you know by now, unless you live under a rock, the COLTS are the new SuperBowl champions! Melissa and I hosted some friends at our house for a rockin' party, I even grilled hamburgers and hot dogs outside for the festivities (it happened to be about zero degrees out, but hey, what is football with out a grill?).

Check out today's version of the Indianapolis Star for more goodies!

What some will do for their team (Go Colts!)

Colts fever is rampant here in Indianapolis! Since winning the AFC Championship, the atmosphere in the city has been amazing. Businesses adding blue color to fountains, blue spotlights on buildings at night, and as you can see above, some going to the extreme.

I have a good friend who owns the local franchise for CertaPro Painters, now I am not here to promote his business (he does an excellent job of doing that on his own and I don't think my blog has quite the reach of one of his billboards!), but his crew painted the outside of their soon to be renovated building - in Colts blue! I drive by this building twice a day on my way to and from work and it is a really nice addition to the scenery! It really looks great, but at night with the spotlight on the building, it really does shine (no pun intended!)

There are only six days left until kick-off for the biggest game this city has ever seen. I am looking forward to getting together with friends to cheer the Colts on and bring a first ever Super Bowl victory to the city! GO COLTS!

Caffeinated doughnuts?

Scientist develops caffeinated doughnuts

Fri Jan 26, 4:13 PM ET

DURHAM. N.C. - That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That's what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he's developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.

While the product is not on the market yet, Bohannon has approached some heavyweight companies, including Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks about carrying it.

On to the Super Bowl!

Now that the Indianapolis Colts are Super Bowl bound, it is time to think about what will keep us occupied between that down time when CBS has to pay for the game. Commercials! I found a nifty little site that has a history of Super Bowl commericals dating back to 1998. It also features the top commerical of all time, including "1984" by Apple.

COLTS are Super Bowl Bound!

As I sat and watched the Colts come back from a 21-3 deficit, I knew that I was watching history in the making. All those people saying that Manning could not win "the big game" were wrong today, one of the biggest games in Colts history. It was truly a memorable moment in sports history. Check out what the Boston Globe said about last night's game:

The Best TV Show You Have Probably Never Seen

What is your favorite TV show? The Office? Lost? I bet the first show that popped into your mind is not my favorite show.
The best show on TV, in my humble opinion, is a reimagined sci-fi show from my childhood past. The orignal was campy, but fun, and released about 2 years after Star Wars (the best movie of all time).
Any guesses? This show is not on network TV, although the cable network it calls home is owned by NBC. The best show that you probably have never seen is Battlestar Galactica. This show has it all - action, romance, good vs. evil, developed characters, and excellent writing. It is vastly different from the original. The original while good at the time did not have the depth in which the new series does. It all started as a mini-series for the SciFi Channel, which got excellent reviews from critics and fans. A new seasonal series began less than a year later and is now currently about to wrap up the mid-season on Friday, December 15th.
I realize that it is difficult to imagine getting involved in yet another show in which you may watch one episode and have no idea what is going on and give up. But with the advent of such novelties as Netflix and iTunes, it is very easy to "catch up" on what has been going on the past few years with the show. My wife has even gotten into the show this season.
This is not just some SciFi show with a bunch of weird aliens. This is an intelligent show that focuses on trying to understand the human condition. Check it out.
