Organic Chem Lab Crystals


Somebody wanted so badly to see the crystals which i extracted during organic chemistry lab.
Here you are then. ^_^

Acidic compound
Salicylic acid

Neutral compound
Dibenzalacetone

I think the neutral compound dibenzalacetone looks nicer. There seems to be a problem with the salicylic acid crystals cuz it should be white according to wikipedia. But somehow it has a tinge of yellow in this sample. Not sure if its my incomplete seperation or it really is this colour. My friend got almost the same thing too. Alhough his tinge of yellow is much fainter.

Dibenzalacetone looks nice. Yea. Thats about it for my first CM1121 Organic Chemistry lab. Lab reports to chiong again. o_O
