Recognition By CO 35SCE
In a recent speech to the commanders, Commanding Officer of 35SCE, my unit, gave boat company much recognition that we have been waiting for. The people in the other companies always think that boat company is very slack and do nothing all the time, which is not true as we are always involved in external attachments and NTM standby. In his recent speech, he said, "People always say that bridging is the teeth of our batallion, as they construct bridges or rafts to send tanks over to crush the enemies. But that is only during wartime. Who are the people who are doing Notice To Move (NTM) during peacetime? Who are the people who are always going out to external attachments when you are in the camp? They are none other than the people from boat company. They are the face of our unit, the people which the other units see during attachments, so if you think that you can send Boat Company the people that you don't want, think again."
At least this new CO is starting to appreciate Boat Coy, maybe our job as boatman will slowly become better and not be ostracised by the batallion anymore. Speaking about attachments, as a boatman, i prefer getting attached to external unit, rather than other companies in my own batallion, because when we get attached to external unit, they are very thankful of our help and that makes our job easier. When we get attached to our own batallion, they complain of us being not good enough, here mistake there mistake, have to help us carry our boats and stuff like that.
The upcoming attachment is to Bravo Coy in our own unit. That sucks seriously. Nothing to say. overnight exercise somemore. Two more nights no need slp liao.
Life as a boatman is not easy. We are the one and only company in the SAF to operate boats as a profession, other than the commandos, who have their own boatman. 4NTM standby duty is not fun. Cannot clear leave and off and can only have the standard weekend off. That sucks. Only good thing is that won't tio guard duty.
This weekend got Sitex at Singapore Expo. Think i going get myself a Creative Zen. My old Creative N200 is falling apart liao. Lala.
Going back to camp soon. Can only book out on Friday night, cuz on standby duty. The rest of the company are on leave liao. That sucks. But wadever. Bye. See you tml.

Back From Ops
This week i came back from Ops. I cannot reveal anything about the ops, except that sentence the SAF allow us to recite. "The SAF is assisting the Police in a security step-up operation for the Asean Summit." Look at it anyway you want. The bloody ministers better make the summit worth it. Dunno how many small fry like us put in so much hard work for them. Anyway, i'm a Boatman, so i only drive boat. I was on standby all along for the whole 7 days. Damn sian, but i learned lots from a former boat platoon sergeant, things that i was never taught. Met with heavy rain when the whole boat was flooded and we had to scoop water was damn sian. Met Jeremy the commando with his red beret on his shoulder at his commando camp when i was taking a break and going his commando canteen was quite fun, the same old style Jeremy. Being a commando never changed him. LOL. Drove from Pulau Ubin to the Changi commando camp in the night at full throttle for one medical evacuation case was quite a shiok experience. Engine breakdown on the final lap before going back to camp was quite a bad experience, had to swap engine in the boat, something i never ever ever did before. Learned about two things that can make a boatman really very du lan: 1) Flooded boat, 2) Failed engine.
Proud to be a Boatman. Commander of a boat. I think i am the only guy in my platoon to feel this way. They don't know how to appreciate wad they have. Every vocation does different things and their job is different. A bridging man is just a sai kang warrior to be ordered around cuz the bridge is operated my specialists. A boat specialist does not usually drive the boat, its the boatman that does. How to be a bridging engineer is u don't know how to operate the bridge? Boatman is different, a boatman is often more proficient than his sergeants and officers cuz they are the ppl who drive the boats. But if the boatman don't take pride in his job, that will haver happen.
Anyway. Thats life. People can never be contented. Played Fairyland this whole weekend till angez said that i'm crazy and would push me off a cliff. Damn sian la. Gimme wad game i also can play cuz weekends nothing to do will be more sian. Army guys have no life. Going to book in liao. Book in by today 1330hrs. This will be a short week for me. Booking out on Thursday. Friday is off day, hopefully they don't suddenly change again. >.<

Operation
Today i got nights off because i have a military operation that lasts for 7 days starting tml. Its supposed to be highly confidential, and i know nothing about it yet, except that it lasts for 7 days and that i'm involved in it. Military operation is really not joking liao, cuz its not an exercise where its just fake. Operation is the real thing liao. I'm sure its 100% not going for war la. Thats impossible now. Dun be dumb okay. -_-" I think its some security step up thing like guard duty or something like dat.
Ah heck. Whatever it is, its just not fun la. Kenna activated out of the blue and a lot of big shot are also having meeting about about it in camp is definately not fun. Maybe Singapore is hosting having some big shot event and some or a lot big shot are coming here la. Thats why got security step up. Still its just a wild goose guess. All the speculation and stuff like dat. If interested and want to know more, cannot. Cuz its highly confidential, not to be posted on he net. Talk to me then maybe i will tell u. Wahaha.

Thx thx..
Thanks to angez for inviting to nix and lic's birthday outing today. Watching you all play arcade as usual and eating at carls jr was quite fun. Too bad i had to book in again. Its Sunday night and as usual i have to book in liao. Sorry for leaving so abruptly. I know you all won't mind de right? Hopefully. =) Haiz. Serving the nation is so tough. Thw worst thing is freedom lost.Sometimes i really hope i'm a girl u know? Angez knows. But too bad i was born a guy and that will be the fact. Don't worry, i'm not gay. I'm perfectly straight. Only thing is that the grass will always be greener on the other side.

Errr... Wow!
Today or rather yesterday, was one whole day of sai kang in camp for me, it was expected though. At first we thought that we will be getting half day off, cuz dinner was not indented for the whole company. In the end, we still ended up booking out at around the same time, but without dinner. Called angez out for dinner with me, if not maybe she won't eat dinner at all. Haha. So, she dragged angelic and her friend along. Ate fish and chips at J8 food court, then after that went arcade. Er... I will never touch arcade stuff again okay. Lala. Nothing happened okay... Argh. Forget it. Thamks to angez and lic for accompanying me to dinner. Walking around in smart 4 not fun one cuz no recruits to look at.
After that went home Oz a while. Lic gave me the sky hair that i was looking for. Thanks Lic. After that went meet up with army friends cuz they wan go bar. We went to the Introbar at City Hall Swisshotel. Actually that place nothing one. Its like starbucks that serve alcohol instead of coffee. Ordered blueberry terquila or something like that, they have some damn cool name for it which i forgot. It was a glass of ice blended alcohol drink that tasted more like the soft drink mix with some alcohol my dad made, but without the gas. Erm. Maybe like wad angez said, all alcohol taste the same. But somehow, they cost very differently. After the drink, dunno why they wanted to go to The Fullerton toilet. Maybe they're already drunk or something la. After that we went to Esplanade for some supper. Had some satay, which was quite nice. I seriously dunno why my friend ordered a Coconut la. Okay. Wierd. Anyway thanks to angez for calling me to see if i was okay as i was unable to feel the vibration due to the constant messaging cuz i was walking around with those idiots. Ya. I'm fine alright. Who will drink till drunk when a glass cost $21? Haha. I won't cuz i will be cursing and swearing at the drink liao.
In the end, went home with NR1. Took quite long, but at least its so much cheaper than taking cab with the surcharge. Wow. Wad a day. Spent money without knowing where it really went to. Anyway, thats life, but as a normal kid from a not so well to do family, quite chor. Now must save money liao. Stay at home Oz is the best! Haha. I must not waste the wig lic gave me.=)
Time to slp. Tml got driving lesson. Hope i won't be half dead and screw it up. Haha.

Love Public Holidays!
Yay! Love public holidays. Rawr. The best being can Book Out. Thats the most important thing though. Haha. After i booked out yesterday, angez jio me play OZ with her. Cuz she in bad mood cuz of some school related stuff. Her fyp really quite xiong. I hear liao also scared. Haha. So we talk on the phone for damn long while at the same time fishing in OZ with Angelic and her friends. Angez damn pro one. She knows who to look for when she needs somebody to rant at. Thats me. Taa-daa. Cuz when on the phone, i will be the one listening most of the time. When i listen i seriously listen, and not be blur blur. Talk and play till about abt 1am, after which we logged in to Lalaland.
Morning till afternoon, we continued to OZ. OZ rawks when u have friends playing together then can talk cock and stuff. Play alone super sian one. After that, Angez call me go eat dinner. So, me angez, noch and lic met up at TPY and went to the bubble tea shop to eat curry chicken rice or something like that. Went arcade played come bang bang bang game, then angez played para para. So pro, u should look at her play la. If i play i confirm will miss everything. Haha. Went for some ice cream at Mcdonalds. So long never eat ice cream at McDonalds liao la. Haiz. Army is robbing me of my life. Now so no life liao. Love going out with angez and friends. Nobody else calls me out liao.

Exercise OCS Panther
Just came back today from a very tiring attachment to OCS Bravo Wing for their Exercise Panther. We did a overnight coastal hook operation where we, the boatman, ferry the cadets on our boats to their landing site for them to continue with their exercise. We launched our boats from somewhere near Tuas 2nd link at around 12 midnight and drove for around 2 to 3hours along the coast towards the woodlands direction before beaching in at some place which i dunno where for the cadets to go chiong sua. In the end, we had to delaunch and upstake all the 12 boats by ourself cuz the cadets haven't finished their exercise yet. So if we wait for them to upstake, we no need book out liao. Damn tired. Never really sleep at all. I had some friends in OCS Bravo wing but sadly, none were in my boat, and as it was so dark, i couldn't find them at all. Quite sad, but there's nothing i can do about that. LOL. In the end my friend told me he wasn't in the boats cuz he was the enemy. Haha.
But still, i hate my platoon. Its full of slackers. They all very very chao keng. Haiz. No choice, our previous company Alpha and Delta posted all the fucked up ppl to Boat. All except for my platoon in delta cuz the fucked up ppl in my platoon then all out of course and pending downgrade liao. So Boat became a dumping ground for the two company. Damn sian. That time i was attached to platoon 3 for NTM i can really feel the difference when i did the layout with them. It was so relax and easy even though we did exactly the same thing. I didn't even feel tired after the layout. However if i did it with my platoon, it would be so much more tiring. Thats the difference if everybody work as a team and put in effort. Really dunno why i have to be stuck with this fucked up platoon for at least 1 year plus more. Haiz.
Luckily because of this attachment, i get Monday off. So, Monday night then book in. Quite shiok la. At least not wasted. LOL. So tired. Sleep one afternoon liao still not enough. RAWR.
