IPPT Gold + Marksman
This week, i had my ATP re-shoot because of some computer cock up at the range the previous time we came. Then, although we hit the target, the target did not fall and then the score was not recorded. As a result, i missed getting my marksman. Now, after they fixed the system, we were given another go at getting my marksman. I was twice lucky, and in the end i got my marksman. My firing detail is OWNAGE man. Out of 6 firers, 5 got marksman. I am one of them of course.
At first, i didn't do quite well for the day shot, only hitting 12 out of 16 targets. After that i realised that my weapon zeroing was a bit too high cuz i only missed the small target by a bit too high. So i clicked my rifle myself. In the end, it worked out well for me cuz in the night it was so much more accurate. To get marksman, i can only miss two more shots and in the night. For the first 9 targets i hit everything. For the last magazine, unfortunately, i encountered a stoppage of no feeding, where the round was not loaded into the chamber. I spent quite some time to remedy it and i was only able to do it at the last moment before the 20s exposure target went down and i fired one damn accurate shot into the head of the target at the 19th second as seen with the tracer round. I am supposed to shoot the 20s exposure target 3 times, but because of the no feeding, i was only able to fire one shot. But luckily, that one shot was wad required for me to get my Marksman. In the end i got my marksman with 22 targets out of 28. Just nice on the dot. Although i could have done better, all that matters is that i got my MARKSMAN and my $200 bonus.
Now with my IPPT Gold and Marksman Badge on my left sleeve of my uniform, i have gotten full set of badges an NSF in my formation can get. Try to beat that. Haha. [To Be The Best] was wad i wanted. The one and only guy in my platoon to get both IPPT Gold and Marksman is wad i am. Even my Sergeants and my Officers cannot get it. So wad if your rank is higher than me. I am only a Private. Yet i have a full left sleeve of badge.
I got marksman with the old and sucky 1970s American made M16S1 Rifle. People who tried 1990s Singapore made SAR21 knows how lousy the M16 is compared to the SAR21. I am not SAR21 trained, i can only use M16. If i can get marksman with M16, for those who are using SAR21 and cannot get marksman, nothing to say. LOL.
Yes! This week i got Friday and Monday off. So i am only booking in on Monday night. Shiok. Super Long Weekend!

Ops Audit
Monday is my Ops Audit day, its like a test, after which I will turn a fully operational boatman, not that i am not now, having been to one attachment, Ex Whitehorse. It was quite fun la. Watching the cadets work while we slack in one corner till we launch our boats into the water and drive them around ferrying cadets and stores across the resevoir. The Ops Audit will be a test of how fast we can respond to a NTM (Notice To Move) activation and then layout all the equipment neatly ready to move off and also to test our knowledge of the boat verbally. Technically, the layout should be done within one hour. During the practice barely did it in one hour. But i am confident we will meet the timimg tml.
Thats it for this week. Going back liao. Had been fishing the whole day in OZ. Think i siao liao. Haha. Nvm life's like dat. Siao or not nvm. Happy can liao. Back to Seletar Camp i go, Hope its a slack week coming up ahead. See you in a weeks time. Or hopefully have nights out also can. Bye.

Crazyness!
The last week has been a crazy week for me. The coming one will be just as crazy. In total, 3 days of leave/off has been canceled just because of this crazy and garang man, also known as the OC. My actual scheduled live range should be some time in November. But dunno why this idiotic OC canceled our block leave to slot us into this very packed live range session.
Anyway, i was so close to getting another $200 for getting marksman. But too bad i missed it at the last chance. To get marksman must hit 22/28 targets, 16 in the day and 12 in the night. For the trial shoot, i missed a lot day shots and failed the day shoot, but my night quite good, so in the end i passed it. For the test shoot, somehow i think i improved a lot and it 13/16 for the day shoot, but i dunno why the night shoot i missed so many. After i missed more than 3 shots at night i anyhow shoot liao, cuz passed but cannot get marksman liao. Quite sad la. Cuz if i shoot my trial night shoot result for my test, i would have gotten marksman. Never mind, i think i will get another live range session again cuz a lot ppl failed it anyway. This session will just be a learning experience for me. Wait till i get my marksman. IPPT Gold plus Marksman, will be the full set of badge i as an NSF can get liao. Hope that i can get it and even officers will have to respect me for that, cuz not everyone can get it. Plus, i am using M16, not SAR21.
Okay, soon i will have to book in liao. Booking in the first thing i have to do is to get prepared for my attachment to ETI (Engineering Training Institute) for some coastal hook exercise from Monday to Wednesday. Tml will be the first time i go for attachment and for the first time, i will have Officer Cadets from ETI sitting in my boat liao. Haha. Should be quite fun. But hopefully because i am the boatman, not officer cadet i should have some privilege and not do all the shit. Let the officer cadets do them. Haha. Bad thing is another 3 days no need bathe liao, maybe eating combat rations and camo on liao. Quite sian also la. Haiz. Fun and sian, cannot have the best of both worlds la.
Okay i have to zao liao. Get prepared for the week coming up ahead. Not to forget, wish Angez Happy Birthday, 19 year old liao, one year older liao hor. Haha. If i get nights out on Wednesday or Thursday then i look for you okay. Bye.

IPPT Gold! POP Loh!
This week was a terrific week for me. First achievement is finally getting my IPPT gold on Tuesday and with personal best results. Thursday was my POP, Passing Out Parade, when i received my certificate that i completed my Boatman Course and finally completed my trainee phase of my NS life. Received my blue beret that makes me a fully fledged boatman. Maybe my life will be better after this.

Still things that happened came back to haunt me. Wad can i do? Face it and move on. No point dwelling at something that i cannot get back. IPPT gold. I got my IPPT gold when i was sick. I was coughing very badly the weekend before. I am still not fully recovered yet, even till now. IPPT gold. My life would have been so different if i got my IPPT gold 4 months back. I know it was within reach even then. Too bad i ended up in the hospital and failed my IPPT instead. I could have been an officer cadet now. Oh wad the heck. I'm not complaining. I have moved on. Now proudly a boatman. So wad if you are an officer or sergeant. On my boat, i am the boss. Haha.
[To Be The Best] was my aim. I failed at it. Too bad i was not the best trainee. I was not good enough. I may be an IPPT gold holder, but i am still not the best. Not too bad though. I am the second best. Haha. I tried my best, and since i ended up being second best, so be it. Second best is good enough for me. It was the encouragement i need. Thanks. Come on, the best trainee's my friend. We were in the same boat for most of the time. We learn and trained together. Congrats to the best trainee. But i am still the IPPT Gold holder. Haha. U cannot beat me yet.
Damn this weekend i kenna one guard duty. So i have to book in this Saturday by 2330 for my Sunday guard duty. Guard duty lao jiao liao la. Just damn sian la. Heck.
