Back From Seletar Camp
35th Singapore Combat Engineers (35SCE), Bridging Engineer (Pioneer - Bridging). Sounds nice, just like all vocations are supposed to. Actually Pioneer just mean being a man, not a commander. So far life in Seletar Camp is quite okay. Its around the same as my BMT in Mohawk, only that the place is bloody old and ragged. It just looks like a kampong in there.
On the very first day, we kenna wack by commanders liao. Stand by bed in the afternoon on the very first day. Quite sick la. Stand by bed means inspection of the bunk by commanders to make sure that everything is clean, even our cupboards have to be checked and everything must be arranged neatly and standardised. In my first week in 35SCE, i had 2 stand by bed and 2 stand by area. Stand by area is the same as stand by bed, only that our cupboards do not have to be opened during stand by area. Thats a bit crazy, as thats almost everyday. Anyway, luckily i come from Mohawk company in BMT, i do not have such a culture shock as experienced by those who were from slack companies. Seriously, i do not know wad the slack companies taught them as they are as just dumb as a recruit, even thought they are already privates.
Had lessons on demolitions during thr last few days, how to lay charges, how to set them off and stuff. Quite interesting. Cannot wait for the time we live fire demolitions. Think we will bomb the whole place down. LOL. Demolitions, such as TNT or PETN made charges will be many times more powerful than the live grenade we had in BMT. The explosion would confirm be much stronger and the ground would definately shake. Can't wait to live fire demolitions.
Think i have fully recovered from pneumonia that i had 2 weeks ago, as i can now cope with the training very well. Today i just had a 5km run. Tired. So i think i will be resting early. Will be having a long weekend till monday night then book-in. Shiok!

Holiday's Over...
Its almost time to go back to bloody serve the army liao. Tml morning i will have put on my No.4 uniform and report to my new camp at Seletar Camp. Hate this feeling. Crap. But there's nothing i can do about it also. Not worth it to AWOL la. Haha.
Hope my new camp and new vocation is a slack one, which i dun think it will be. But anyway, just hope la. Haha. Haiz. My friend who didn't want to be a commander got into SISPEC. Sian. Army should let those who want to choose wad they want. I wanted to be enlisted in Jan. It was not given. I wanted to be a commander, it was not given also. Fucked up. I can be considered wad ppl call the 'fuckable' type, because i can take wad ppl throw at me and not complain. But there's a limit to everything.
Heck. Thats my Life. Time to go slp liao. Prepare for the dreadful day coming up ahead.
Life as a civilian is the best. When will i be a civilian again?

Alright. The posting is out. As expected, i did not make it to command school. Now, i am given this vocation which i dunno wad it is. Heard its something like combat engineer. Heck. Anyway i'm just stuck at being a man liao. Can't really say that i'm disappointed, cuz i already expected it. Just hope that this new posting is quite slack won't kill me la. Haha.
JJ and YS going OCS, Officer Cadet School. Soon, i will have to salute them after they commission as 2LT . Thats my life. I would at most be LCP or CPL by then. Crap.

POP
Today is my POP day. POP is Passing Out Parade. That means that i have passed BMT and now, i am no longer a recruit. I am now a private soldier.
Lots of things happened these few days. I was hospitalised at CGH for pneumonia. Dun ask me how i got it. Cuz i also dunno. I juz cough cough cough and it got worse progressively till i cannot take it and reported sick. The Tekong MO sent me for an X-ray and viola, he said that i got pneumonia and will have to go to hospital for strong antibiotics to clear the infection. Pneumonia is lung infection for those who may not know what it is.
But the problem is that i never wanted to report sick cuz will miss a lot of things and and so i did not report sick even though i was sick and i went for sitest, IPPT, SOC and everything that i was supposed to do. Sick, so cannot perform well. Sitest at least i passed it. IPPT i got silver grade for everything except for running, which i failed by 3 bloody seconds. SOC also failed, but thats not important, cuz practically all failed. IPPT is a criteria for entry into command school, OCS or SISPEC. Command school is somewhere new soldiers go into to be trained to be leaders. Cannot go command school means that you will be a man and be wacked my leaders for all your live, until you retire from army at the age of 45(or 55 for officers). So, i failed the criteria for command school because i was sick. The sickness was so serious that i have to be hospitalised for it and when i ask for another chance to take the test, it was not given, because nobody is conducting another one anymore cuz POP liao wad. POP liao, so F-off. When i asked them to take the previous result, which i got Silver without any kick, they refused, saying that they need to take the latest one for other unit to record our performance. WTF? Record the performance a sick man? Wait till he's fine la.
Army is just one screwed-up organization. We are waiting to rush and rushing to wait all the time. SAF? Serve And Fuck-off.
