Thoughts on the Incomprehensible Love of God

" 1 Samuel 12:22 KJV Wow, last night I was blown away in reading 1 Samuel about Israel's reaction to Samuel when he announced to them God's displeasure in asking for a king. To put this story in context, up to this point, we have Samuel, who was a prophet appointed by God who revered him and was dedicated to the LORD at Shiloh by Hannah. Due to the sinful nature of Eli's sons (priests in the temple), God disciplined all of Eli's family. God told Eli that both of his sons would die on the same day. Soon after, a war broke out between Israel and the Philistines, and God allowed the Philistines to win the battle and take the Ark of the Covenant for a short while to 1) show his power to the Philistines; they were terrified by the power of the God of Israel, and 2) to lovingly discipline Israel for falling into sin and trusting in th
