A walk down the gardens

Singapore Botanical Gardens is one of the more popular and common locations for weddings shoots. In our 2 hr walk, we bumped into 2-3 couples clad in wedding outfits either having shoots or solemnisation. Our purpose in making this rare trip down botanical gardens is to actually scout for nice backdrops for our shoot. Other than browns and greens, and perhaps their iconic birdcage pavilion, there's nothing more that could captivate us. I think we can strike this place off our list of shooting venues.

A solemnisation ceremony going on in the birdcage.
Very apt.. marriage is like a birdcage.
LOL

We walked for awhile and it started drizzling.
Glad that we brought the brolly with us..
as it always rains whenever we go for strolls in parks.

Isn't the brolly cute?? Teehee.
But it spoilt after it served its purpose at the end of our walk and we had no choice but to throw it away as it couldn't be kept closed.. I'll miss you elmo!

It kept us entertained for quite awhile.

The fallen leaves were amazingly neat.
Does the NParks sweeper do that everyday?
Very nice

I never thought that there's actually swans in the Swan Lake!
We rarely see swans in Singapore so I assumed that it was just a normal lake named after Swans

Inseparable swans

As we were walking away, the swans swam towards us!

Mini waterfall
At last we see some colours amidst the greens.
But a nominal fee is required to enter the orchid garden
Being the practical us, of course we weren't willing to pay to go in.
Pretty orchids

What's Charlie doing here?

Charlie's here again!

A heart-shaped leaf that caught my eye

It started pouring towards the end of our stroll..
Heng we have elmo for shelter

This is the song, lalala.. elmo song

What's for dinner..

Bak Kut Teh!
Just nice for the wet day..

Kbox with larling

In our five years of courtship, it's the first time that we went kbox together. It was a lazy Saturday noon and we couldn't decide what to do, so larling said let's go Kbox. We went to the one at Cineleisure and it's quite huge. And most importantly it's very cheap!! We sang from 4.30 to 7pm for only $12 in total. We weren't frequent singers, so we didn't know the bill is so cheap for that period of time. Hee.. We shall make it a monthly affair then!

short hair really doesn't suit me.

In the small room of Kbox for two persons
My gosh.. Cineleisure's Kbox is still using CRT TV!
At least Partyworld have 42 inch plasma tvs and superb karaoke system.
Dinner at Tonkichi..
Ended the day with a cup of Share Tea..
The bubbletea craze is back! Can't stop craving for a cup everyday man..

A Stellar Valentine's Day

This year's vday is the best I had so far - fantastic dinner coupled with my desired gift. But it's probably larling's most exp vday celebration. If not for the two glasses of Dom Perignon champagne and sparkling water which added another $100 to the bill (I gullibly thought it was complimentary when they asked!), larling wouldn't have to dig so deep into his pocket. Haha thanks my dear for the lovely treat!
Dinner was at 1-Altitude's Stellar. Nice ambience and great food but their service needs improvement. They shouldn't have hired bouncers-alike as their butlers. The serving of dishes and clearing up of plates was done quite haphazardly.

Calla lilies.. Told larling not to get any flowers but he insisted

Still waiting for our first dish

Here's the menu... Looks alot but it's a sharing menu for 2

First dish served finally..
Fresh oysters, lobster sushi, chawanmushi

Those seats having the scenery view is $30 more expensive per pax.
Vday is really the day for retailers and restaurants to squeeze the most out of couples.

Second dish..
Pan-fried foie gras with duck meat.
My second time eating foie gras and it's heavenly this time..
First time I had it was during our convocation ball at Fullerton which tasted horrible and so I thought foie gras was yucky. Till I tried it again. It goes exceptionally well with duck meat.

Third dish..
Pata Negra - a type of ham which tastes quite like bacon.

Fourth cheesy dish..
Taleggio cheese they call it. Very unique taste.

Fifth..
Risotto with salmon roe and scallop.
I didn't know what's risotto was until larling told me, "there.. it tastes like your mui fan"
Now I get it

Main dish and it's our fav..
Wagyu!
They have the daube and rib of wagyu.
There's a difference to the texture but I wasn't quite sure which one is the daube and which is the rib.

Sweet dessert..
Macaroons, chocolates, chiffon and sorbet.
Super sweet to the max

Chocolates and cookies to go with tea

Last but not the very least, my vday gift!

Second blue box from larling.

Home sweet home..

You hold the key to my heart
