Summer Hong Kong 2009

Hong Kong is such a shopping haven, i nearly shopped til broke. Larling kept calling me a poor bloke cos i dont have enough money for food. We ate alot, bought alot, and walked alot too. I've nv walked so much in my lifetime, i think the mileage that we've clocked is adequate to cover Singapore from West to East and back to West. Everyday we've to walk to the main MTR line for a good 15 min, and coupled with the vigorous shopping and sightseeing activities that we've planned, our feet ached like hell. Nevertheless, it was a satisfying trip and i've enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Our travelling khakis this time is larling's bestie of more than 10 yrs, Kai Chou, and with his gf Cecilia. The couple and us have different objectives in Hong Kong - they spent quite alot on food while we splurged on shopping.

HK Intl' Aiport, Tsing Ma Bridge

After settling down, we proceeded straight to Avenue of Stars at Tsim Sha Tsui, and across the sea is the chio HK skyline at Hong Kong Island

Boarded the Star Ferry to go across to Hong Kong Island. Per trip is only Sing 50cents, but the ride can be quite bumpy though.

TOok the Peak Tram up to the Peak to view the beautiful HK skyline at nightfall and visit Mdm Tussauds which is situated on the Peak.

Waxed celebrities who looked incredibly real.

you can touch and kiss the 'celebrities' anyhow you like, so of course we helped ourselves. Waxed Jay Chou dont really look like him, disappointed.

Waxed Andy Lau is really damn looked alike.

And Andy allowed me to zi pai with him.. whhhooooot

Enough of waxes, out we go to enjoy the best night view of HK. Night shots are really hard to take, luckily we have larling's new SLR

Then we went back to Mongkok and had 许留山 for dessert. Their signature mango desserts are really yummy and their franchises are at every spot of HK. Kai Chou and Cecilia are super fans of them, every night sure have a cup of mango drink in their hand.

Next morning, it rained and luckily it stopped in the noon, and so we headed to Ocean Park as scheduled. We managed to go for only 3 rides and a show due to time constraints. I didnt want to take any rides bcos i'm scared, but they forced me to go for rides one after another!! the last ride was the worst. it'll be my first and last ride bcos after that particular ride, i'm suddenly afraid of heights!! boooo.

This was the roller coaster that i was referring to - Mine Train. Describing it as scary is an understatement.

Taking the super long escalator up to the highlands.

In the Ocean Park Tower which gives a 360 degree view

Sea Jellies!!

i love this photo, which was taken in the Sea Jelly dark room. so illuminating.

In the cable car back to the lowlands. it was quite a long cable ride and i didnt dare to look out cos it was very hiiiigh

Reached the lowlands.. and not forgetting a mario jump with the panda in the background

pandas have a super good life la.. have aircon 24/7 and sleep like nobody's business. i want to be a panda in my next life!

boopboopboop.. goldfish! super fat one somemore.

nightfall.. back to random streets of HK.

cheap place to buy past seasons Prada/Miu Miu stocks.

中环.. their CBD area

back to Tsim Sha Tsui to catch their Symphony of Lights where light displays on the buildings will play along with the music. It was quite boring and Kai Chou caught me dozing off, should have given it a miss.

Langham Place. We're there to check out the super long escalator which stretches to around 6 storeys.
does scorpio and gemini make a gd match?

cable car ride at Lantau Island to Ngong Ping Village and Tian Tan Big Buddha.
We took the crystal cabin (which is also more exp) where the bottom of the cabin is glass. i think the normal cabin is good enough cos u seldom look down, ppl mostly look out of the cabin most of the time.

it was a misty day so we couldnt capture a sharp pic of the Buddha in the background

Last day of our trip, we finally had dim sum for brunch. the dim sum at 稻香 was yummilicious and cheap. We ordered around 8 dishes and per head was only S$7! couldnt understand y yum cha in spore can be so exp.
i've enjoyed so much till i forgot how to work. oh man.. how i wish i could be a panda.
