F1 Singapore Grand Prix

i had the privilege to watch our first F1 night race finals for free!! i've got to thk larling and his dad for this wonderful pitstop grandstand tix. according to larling, Shell, which is one of the sponsors for Ferrari, gave his dad's co tix. and bcos his dad werent interested in F1 races at all, thus we got the chance to watch it!

we were seated right opposite the pits and yes, we could see Ferrari and crew right before our eyes. coincidentally, we saw Felipe Massa's fuel hose flying along his ferrari when he zoomed off before his crew could remove it in time. ferrari fans who were seated with us were yelling and shouting in the hope of directing their attention to Massa's problem. at first we thought that the crew was unaware because they proceeded to work on the next ferrari in line, which was Kimi Raikkonen's. it's after raikkonen's ferrari had driven off then the crew sprinted to Massa's rescue. i guess they had to finish on raikkonen before going on to save Massa. as a result of this disastrous incident, Massa dropped from 1st to 15th. all of our hearts sank.. and to make things worst, raikkonen had to crash into the boulder at his last 5 laps. even though i'm not really a fan of ferrari, i just feel sad for the team.

overall, the experience was definitely thrilling.. the high pitch roars of revving engine just sets me high. it was damn cool.. i couldnt stop thinking of it even till this morning. totally in love with F1.

we arrived at 5pm and it wasnt very crowded yet

BMW Sauber's merchandise booth

ferrari's

some sandwich bar beneath our grandstand.. prices were gg at exorbitant rates

pits right opposite us

our F1 ticket

a kiss for darling.. thks for your great tix!

spot the bottom left.. we were sitting beside a mediacorp actress.. but we couldnt rem her name, so we didnt talk to her
at 530 was the Porsche Carrera Cup.. their cars have the lower pitch roaring engines, unlike F1 cars. of course i'd prefer F1 cars.. they are like the bigger version of tamiya cars. haha

winners of the Cup.. dunno who are they also. haha

630pm: F1 drivers track parade.. this is where the drivers would sit on vintage cars and being driven around the race track

Lewis Hamilton on interview just before the drivers parade

the prancing horse..

the F1 race is finally starting..
after a round of warm-up, the cars were pushed in by the pit crew to their respective starting positions

pit crew preparing their driver and car on the track..
once the cars speed off, pit crew members speed off too back to their respective pits. there's only one entrance, thus seeing the mad rush through the squeezy gate

the ferrari crew waiting in the pit

here comes Massa.. and this is where the unfortunate incident happened

after 61 laps.. here's the winners
1st: fernando alonso (renault)
2nd:nico rosberg (williams)
3rd: lewis hamilton (mclaren)

they are so cute when they played with the champagne. LOL
*cheers*
and back to reality..

lovely saturday

sat noon we headed down to FJ Benjamin's sale at hyatt hotel.. larling's mum bought him one raoul shirt that wk, and we found that quality exceptionally good, so we decided to give it a try and see if we can get any good bargains. but as usual, sizes always run out in sales. after much rummaging, in the end both of us left the place empty-handed.

after which was present-buying for my dad's bday. then dinner was at paragon's spageddies at basement. it was a good attempt, the food turned out to be satisfying despite its boring name.

bday cake for daddy, not larling

anyway, baby

HAppY sWEEt 29th!

til the end of time..

randomness

i realised i have not touched my lappie since mon til fri cos by the time i reached home from work, i'm totally tired and headed straight to bed. even though work wasn't stressful and taxing yet, working life by itself is already tiring. i can't imagine what i'd be when the peak period comes.. a panda or an owl?

anyway for the past wk of my post-work activities:

MON. finally convinced my lazy self to chk out Planet Fitness. it wasnt a regretted decision afterall. the gym at suntec was damn big - two levels, with a women designated workout area. outside views of the marina bay was stunning and it made my workout much more enjoying. ther's also free classes like body combat, yoga etc but those are not my kind so i gave them a miss. i was so satisfied with Planet Fitness that i decided to frequent it every wk. but to my disappointment, True Fitness bought over Planet Fitness and that ended Deloitte's membership with them. we've got California Fitness instead. Damn sad can. Luckily i stil have three more Planet passes to last me til perhaps next yr? haha.

TUES. training grp 3 and 4 had a gathering at shokudo raffles city. that's my second time in this month there alr. i think i'll be gg there again tml for our girls gathering. OoO. i guess that's the best place to accomodate big groups.

after dinner, we moved to MOS Burg for a drink. great bunch of funny guys to hang out with.

WED. first time having OT in deloitte. til 7.30pm. no comments on this.

THURS. vball training as usual at SPE. inter-CPA vball is two wks later and i dont think that the team is ready. most of our trainings is just playing against non-deloitte ppl and team mates are not fixed. it's really quite a waste of time. i feel that it'll be more effective if there's proper training on skills and on team work as well.

FRI. met up with samuel, spencer and larling at parkway parade. come to think of it, all four of us are working in totally different companies. some of us carry different expectations about our current jobs and worry about the future prospects. it's gd to think ahead, but for me i'd prefer to let it run natural.

samuel finally passed us the photos for the grad shoot. totally love the great effects of SLR

these photos make me miss studying life..

updates

three weeks of training has officially ended. it was so much like our ntu seminar style lessons - one facilitator while the rest of us are split into groups of 5 or 6. i was lucky to be assigned to a grp which i know all of them - celine, ernest, erwin and zehao. i've enjoyed training all bcos of them. and the instructors are nice - very patient and encouraging.

last day of training was presentation. our group combined with another group and came up with a skit. and we got first for that! credits go to everyone who acted well and came up with such a great plot.

the splendid view taken from our training room
