Update........

Hmmmmm....well, it looks like I didn't exactly stick to plan and haven't posted for months. I've really missed blogging and card making and you all. We moved house and number two arrives in two weeks. With the pregnancy and the move and a toddler I've been exhausted and my craft bits are still in boxes. I look at them wondering when I will get cracking again and am ashamed to say I've actually been buying cards for friends rather than making them!! Do pop by your blogs from time to time.
Keep in touch and don't give up on me yet.......

N is for New

Our theme this week on the ABC Challenge blog is 'N is for' and we are being sponsored by Lauretta's Digital Stamps. The winner will be able to choose 4 images to download! She kindly gave the DT some images to use and I had this pretty flower vase image.

I've used flowers and ribbons from stash and a mix of papers from PM and MME. The sentiment is stamped in ladybug red and edged with gold ink. Let's see what you come up with.....find anything new and have fun! Don't forget to take a look at all the other DT cards.

Yunik Crafts in the Philippines - A Request

My lovely blogging friend Judy  in Aberdeen is going out to the Philippines in March to visit her sister working out there. Her sister teaches ladies how to make cards from scrap to sell for their livelihood and Judy is going to give them some lessons too. If you have some stash that you would like to donate... ribbons, stamps, images please email Judy for her address and send the items by 28th Feb. It's a great cause and I'm sure you have so much more  kit that you need....my craft room I know is full of bits I don't use.

Flutter By

I don't know how many of you remember but I was so addicted to butterflies for so long that I had to actually wean myself off making cards with them on!! Seriously! So when I saw the flutter by challenge at Quixotic Paperie I couldn't resist. Just hope that it isn't the start of another series of butterfly cards!

I used Grape Jelly, Rose Bud and Paris Dusk inks and stamped the butterflies onto lilac card. The border punch is a favourite EK punch and the roses were part of the flower parcel from my friend. The challenge over at CCT is Blooming Gorgeous so I entered this week. The paper is from crafty individuals and I love this particular butterfly paper. The sentiment is from K&Co.

Be My Valentine......

I used to make these as a child and decided to try one for a valentine's day card. When I saw the OCC  challenge I used their sketch and added the top ribbon. It was crying out for a message so I put a hidden tag inside the heart. You can see it in the image below. I used Fiskars 'Cloud' Paper Edgers to make the scalloped edges. Stampavie and More also has a Valentine theme so I entered into that as well.

The person who this card is for says he reads my blog but I'm not sure I believe him so I'm posting this anyway in the hope he doesn't see it .....

The Sugar Bowl

I decided to make a card for the Sugar Bowl . The DT cards were all so great I felt inspired! Thank you ladies! I used a mix of papers - Oriental Spice (PM), Wild Asparagus (MME) and the sentiment is from some K&CO designer papers. I threaded the buttons and distress inked the image and papers and tore the edges. I liked the colour combo and wanted to use browns with bright colours. I think it's worked!

A weekend in the mountains......

Last weekend we had a long weekend skiing in Austria. I've never lived so close to the slopes and I thought I'd share some pics with you. It was truly beautiful.....

Winter doesn't seem so bad when you look at these!

Birthday Fun!

I just love blues and browns so I used my favourite papers and stamp and put this little card together using some promarkers. I followed the sketches for OCC and Sketch Saturday and put the Happy Birthday sentiment onto the card. Although I used some artistic licence to rotate the sentiment and lace edging for the SS entry.  Not sure whether to sell this one or keep it for a friend. I quite like the simplicity of it and of course the furry ribbon!

A bit of red and pink!

I went a bit mad with this card in an explosion of reds and pinks but it was fun! Think all the valentine's cards have inspired me! I used papers from the Garden Party Matstack from DCWV and the ribbon is from stash. A friend sent me a huge box of paper flowers. She does embroidery and said she wouldn't use them......It's like a second Christmas!! The flowers are mounted onto flowers punched from the same papers I'd used and I inked the image with ladybug red and finished with liquid pearls.

The theme over at CCT is 'Fairy Fantastic' so I thought this image was perfect. Passion for Promarkers is any colours and a theme which is 'Girls, girls, girls.'  PTW has 'Pretty Pink' theme.

M is for Masking

New Digi-downloads.......

My lovely blogging friend Di has asked me to try out some of her new Digi-downloads. What a treat! I had so much fun! Her images are just adorable. Have a look at her digi-download blog. I coloured one of my favourite images of hers 'boy and girl on bench' using this week's sketch for Passion for Promarkers.

Their challenge this week is Sketch and a Theme....'theme of love' which was perfect! The papers are MME and I punched the flowers and swirls.

New Challenge Blog

There is a new ABC Christmas Challenge blog to run bi-weekly throughout the year as a sister blog to the normal ABC Challenge blog. Unfortunately I won't have time to be on the team but will continue to be on the design team for the ABC blog. Do pop along and have a look and join in the fun. You'll be so much more ready for Christmas in 2010 if you make your cards gradually throughout the year!

Sorry too for my absence recently. Motherhood is keeping me busy and we've had so many friends and family staying with us that I seem to have swapped card making for baking and finding teething gels!

I'm enjoying the domesticity but I miss your lovely blogs and of course my card making. I had some wonderful stash for Christmas so I shall get cracking with some creations soon. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all and know that I miss communication with you all. I will hop along to your blogs when I can.
