Apollo is back

We have a group of Toho beads that is called the Apollo line.  What makes this line unique is that part of every bead is covered in copper.  While the Apollo line comes in several colors, the turquoise is the most popular (and the hardest to order from our supplier).

We have the turquoise Apollo beads (size 11, 8, and 6) back in stock.  Now, for the first time, we also have them in the 1.5 and 4 mm cubes!  Quantities are limited, so come in soon for yours.

Humblebeads Art Bead Show & Book Signing

Humblebeads Art Bead Show & Book Signing
Saturday, April 21      10 am – 4 pm

Bead artist and author Heather Powers will be selling her latest beads at Stony Creek Bead on April 21st.

Heather's beads are inspired by nature - birds, woodland creatures, tree branches, leaves, and sundries from the sea.  Her beads have been featured on HGTV, in Stringing, BeadStyle, and Beadwork magazines, and more.

Heather will be signing copies of her book, Jewelry Designs from Nature.  If you already have this book, you know how great it is.  If not, then we will have copies for you to purchase.  Heather’s book has a collection of 32 projects – necklaces, bracelets, and earrings – that combine easy jewelry-making techniques with spectacular components and artisan-made beads.  You will learn how small details can elevate a design from ‘simple’ to ‘striking!

Ooo... Raku!

We are now carrying raku by Michigan artist, Duane Collins.  Due to the reflective nature of the finish on this type of pottery, the attached picture does not show how beautiful these pieces really are.  Take my word for it, they are amazing!  Come in to take a look for yourself.

Hot New Item—Silk Ribbon

Our silk, which is hand-dyed in the USA, comes in a huge variety of colors and finishes.  How do you use it?  Well…

Stephanie slid on pewter and lampwork beads (by Buckaroo Beads), wrapped it around her wrist and tied it in a knot.

Lori (Shimmery Jewelry) used them as a tie on her basic stringing necklace.

Those are just two ideas.  What will you do with them?
