Totally Geeked Out With McDreamy
We went to the races in Tooelle to watch Uncle Rick race last weekend. On Friday we were walking down the bleachers to the very end where the family was sitting. Lynnett nudges me and says, "There's Patrick Dempsey!" Huh, what? My heart starts to flutter... I'm walking by, eyes bugged out and chin hanging on the floor and he waves and says, "Hi!" "Hi!" I reply. Freaking Out! Freaking Out! So, I make it over to the family and I'm telling them what just happened and who's sitting right next to us. After all us girls had our chance to freak out (quietly, we are TRYING to stay cool) we decided we had to get our picture taken with him.
My Conversation With Patrick Dempsey
Me: Hey, sorry about the gong show. (Our kids running everywhere.)
Patrick: That's OK I was watching to make sure he didn't climb over the top. (Riggin was climbing on the chainlink fence at the top of the bleachers.)
Me: Oh, thanks... Hey, do you ever take pictures with people? (ya, I know, totally lame.)
Patrick: Ya, sometimes.
Me: (I think my heart is going to jump out of my chest... I can tell he's not totally jazzed... (come on ash, just bite the dang bullet and ask...) So, do you mind if I totally geek out and ask to have our picture taken with you?
Patrick: Ya, sure... after the race.
Me: Cool, thanks!
(I am dying at this point)
So, after the race I'm thinking... I'm not going to chase him down, we'll just see what happens. He walks down the stairs and turns and motions us over to him. What a nice guy. I would have ran from the 'crazed fan' if I were him. Anyway, he asked which kids belonged to me and was very nice. I know, I'm totally in the shadow, but who cares... I'M TOUCHING PATRICK DEMPSEY!!!!!
Happy Birthday Baby!
Michael Ted Stone was born on September 22, 1975. I'll let you do the math! After being gone for such a long weekend I didn't have time to do anything for him. I didn't buy him a gift, didn't bake him a cake, didn't have the house clean... NOTHIN' I did what I could though, you know, last minute and it made the day very interesting. I kept trying to think of the little things I could do. So, he found Happy Birthday in the mirror when he brushed his teeth, got out of the shower to a HOT towel (one of my favorites), and I made him German pancakes (his favorite). After he finished a couple hours of work we went to lunch and shopping and were able to spend the day together as a family. We had Casey and Hannah bring home a cake from Magelby's in Utah and had some close friends and family come over for cake and ice cream. It's the BEST cake EVER!!! It's always fun to spend time with everyone. A little crazy considering all our family, but definately FUN!!!
So, Mike... Happy Birthday!!! I know it wasn't a surprise party, a bullriding video, or tickets to a UFC fight... but I'll make up for it next year.
You are the GREATEST! A hard worker, problem solver, a coach (in more ways than wrestling), the best advice giver, a best friend, a wonderful father, and a loving husband. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being BORN! ;) I love you!

Boise! State!
Since my friend, Kara's husband was out of town also, we decided we'd continue our tradition and still have game night. We always have a great time with the Dudleys. Last night we had movie night, today we went swimming, and tonight... well... GO BRONCOS!!!!
Uhhh... Tommy June... What you doin' ?
I put Tommy down for a nap and this is how I found her 5 minutes later. The girl didn't even make a peep. What the heck... tricky little thing!
Sooo... ROUND 2!!! After about 5 min this time, she did start crying. I went in to check on her and should I have been surprised? Nap time in the swing... definately over.

Our 1st Show
Mike & I have been down to Boise's 'VENUE' a few times to support Lex's friends & because we're kinda groupies ;) No, they're quite good musicians... and we really enjoy their music. Anyway, Mike went out of town and a couple bands needed a place to stay, so the kids and I put them up last night and went to see them perform. Yes, they were a little young... we did get set up with earplugs though which was nice. If they didn't save they're little eardrums, at least it gave them something to do all night. They were constantly trying to keep them in. Anyway, they loved it... they danced and tried the moshing thing a little bit. The local band that played after the gig was a kid in my ward, so we got to hang with a bunch of the youth and the Bishop and his wife. It was cool... being out late with the kids on a school night, dancing, buying them pop, 2 candy bars, and a bag of skittles. Look out Britney Spears, here I come.
SORRY!!!
K- So it's been almost a month and things have been super busy. We are here... and we are alive! I can't wait to check everyones blogs, yeah!
Riggin had school pix last week and we thought a change would be nice....
BYE BYE Black Hair!
And last but not least...
I know what your thinking...
We figured, what the heck... it might be the only chance we get to give all the kids the same haircut. Besides, it is suppose to help it grow in faster and stronger now.
