update: for those who don't already know, i am no longer in the sunny island of Singapore!
haha yep, i'm down under in Adelaide for a year at University before i return to work.

time has past fast, and it's already three months since i left.
school work is mounting (so why in the world am i here)
but other than that, i'm enjoying the weather. it's spring~

well, i'll come by here when i'm free (don't expect it soon)
gotta clear some work now!

knowing that he's no longer going to be there when i come home,
knowing he's no longer going to run to me to hide when it rains,
knowing he'll not be protecting the home and its members,
knowing he'll not be pawing to enter the room when it's girltalk time,
knowing that he won't be there for me to hug when i feel like one,
knowing i won't be able to scold him for messing up the house,
knowing i wasn't there at the last few minutes of his life
makes this lump in my throat swell.

i could dwell on the many if-onlys,
i could wish i'd given him a better life,
but i choose to remember the blessing he's been,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENISE (AND JUSTYN)!

YAY! we celebrated dear Denise's (actual) and Justyn's (belated) birthdays this week!
um, planning such surprises aren't really my forte
BUT with help from some, we managed to pull it off!

haha, here was the plan:
to make either think we were planning to celebrate the other's.
(okay, i know.. super mean, right!)

steps to do so:
1. ignore Denise on her birthday (so mean, right? i know!)
ie NO text messages/wishes/wrappedgifts/cards
ie pay no special attention to her. if possible, even less than normal
ie make no attempts to sit with her during the morning lectures
2. at random moments heading towards the afternoon,
the 08cohort would nonchalantly offer her snacks that they cannot finish
(because she LOVES to eat) or if you are nicer, packets of biscuits.
STILL without wishing her
3. openly plan to sing Justyn a birthday song (even brought a guitar!)
4. all gather outside the corridor to sing the song
5. actually sing JUSTYN a birthday song
6. present JUSTYN with a personalised birthday cake
7. clap in exuberance
8. ask him to make a wish, blow the candles
9. pack up to head for lunch with the cake
10. gather the huge group towards the lift
11. walk
12. after 5 seconds of walking, crowd around and sing HER the birthday song,
presenting her HER cake
13. clap in exuberance
14. ask HER to make a wish, blow the candles
15. reveal the entire plan, and laugh with her at the thought that we forgot
16. this time, REALLY head for lunch with the cake. =]
