Oskee Wow Wow

Congrats to the Fighting Illini women's volleyball team!

They will be playing in the NCAA Championship Final
tonight against BOO.C.L.A.
Thankfully ESPN is doing a livestream on the web so I can watch it
since we don't have ESPN2.

Makes me want to lace up my Mizunos and play a little pepper.

Update: They lost :-(
Completely came unglued in the 4th set.
Can't have 11 service errors in a rally scoring format
and expect to win.

Christmas Wish List

It's that time of year again when people need gift ideas.
There are actually some things I really do need as well as a few wants.
And remember, Birthdays are right around the corner...

Where to begin...

THE NEEDS

1. bareMinerals Original SPF 15 in LIGHT
Available at Sephora
Trust me, you don't want me to run out of this.
It won't be pretty.

2. Stila Lip Gloss 8 pack kit
These are fabulous. Got some at Costco last year,
but they aren't carrying them this year.
Thankfully, Sephora is.

3. bareMinerals Concealer in Summer Bisque
Like, running desperately low, hope it lasts till Christmas kind of need.

4. Michael Graves Stainless Steel Mesh Skimmer
Available at Target

Yes, it may seem weird that I need a skimmer,
but I make a lot of stuff in the crockpot,
and I like to get out every last bit.

5. Lodge 12" Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet
Available at Target

This and the remainder fall into the category of
"Would Very Much Like to Have"
as opposed to a "NEED"
Just want something I can make scrambled eggs in,
and I learned on youtube how to make it non-stick.
And, as an added benefit, it makes a good weapon.

6. Bring It-- Tony Horton
As many times as I have checked this out from the library, I should probably just go ahead and get it. The workouts are great, and I need to detox.

7. Gift Card to HomeGoods

I am really starting to need new kitchen towels,
but I am holding out till after the move.
We also need new drink glasses.
And, I don't want to spend the money.

8. Salon de Christe Gift Card
I would never be disappointed to get one of these.

9. Starbucks Gift Card
I hate coffee. Every now again those Double Chocolatey Chip
Frappacinos start calling my name though.
**If you get this, see #6.**

10. Braun SoftPerfection Epilady
Amazon
This little gadget comes highly recommended by SIL, Heather.
Not that I like pain, but I like shaving less.

And, lastly, should you decide to venture off to purchase any of these items. I would highly recommend avoiding West County Mall, especially if you have to go to the bathroom.

Los Posados

Sitting here with bated breath for a Pujols deal,
a song comes to mind to recount our annual
St. Charles Christmas Los Posados adventure.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...

Jack Frost nipping at your nose...

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir...

And folks dressed up like Eskimos...

Okay. So not really dressed like Eskimos, but it was pushing 60 degrees and raining.
No pictures of Mary and Joseph because we were hunkered down
under an awning trying not to get drenched.
We are going to try and make it back so the kids can
get the rest of their Character Collector Cards.
You don't have to twist my arm to go
back to Main Street at Christmas time.

Better go now, the pins and needles I am sitting on are starting to hurt.
Just sign the deal, Albert!
Sign the deal!!!

Is that a Tooth in My Bagel?

Yesterday we were having our breakfast before school when Carlie suddenly stopped. She reached in her mouth and took the piece of bagel out, and there was a tooth stuck in her bite! It was her front tooth! It's been loose for awhile and finally came out! Hopefully the Tooth Fairy will read this blog before leaving on a cruise...

Noah's Birthday

About a month behind, so I figured I should get caught up before all the Christmas posting. Short and sweet...

Can't believe Noah is already 5! Aunt Debra came in from Omaha to celebrate since she was training peeps in St. Louis. Grammy & Pawpaw also came to town.

Down on the Farm

We took the opportunity to head over to Pumpkinland on Friday since it was Fall Break.
What a glorious fall day it was.
Sunny, but that nice crisp fall chill in air.
It could be the last year for Pumpkinland
as there is pressure to sell the farm for commercial development.
I do enjoy their produce but have always been puzzled
as to why their prices are higher than the grocery store,
especially the u-pick varieties.

(Disclaimer: Portions of the older lady have been retouched for a more youthful glow.:-)

Last Year

This Year
(Notice there is a 2x4 propping up the growth chart,
so they look shorter than last year.)

Team USA

Congrats to Team USA for winning the Gold Medal at the World Championships in Tokyo.
They pretty much kicked tail and dominated every other country.
Gosh, maybe we should apologize.
Pretty awesome considering two of our top gymnasts are injured and couldn't compete.

A good sign of things to come in London 2012!

Happiness is...

...winning the Wild Card on the last day of the season!

(Photos from yahoo sports except the one of Mike)

...watching another team have the worst meltdown in major league baseball history the last three weeks of the season! (Nice one Braves, but thanks!!)

...Mike winning his Fantasy Baseball League when he "would rather watch paint dry" than watch a baseball game. (Clearly I need to take more photos of him wearing Cards gear)

I Can't Take Him Anywhere

The other day Noah and I ventured off to the outlet to get our
bread supply for the next several weeks.
They run coupons Buy 2 Get 2 Free,
so I can get 4 loaves of Arnold bread for less than $2.50.
One loaf of this bread at the grocery is $2.99.

Anyway, I told him before we left that I was
Not. Buying. Donuts!
He loves the Entenmann donuts they sell,
and I end up eating half of them.
Well, he was very good and didn't ask for donuts.
But, he did ask for cookies!
Chocolate chip no less.
Like I am going to say no to chocolate chip cookies.

Guess who ended up eating half the box?

Of course I did.
I can't help it.
Chocolate chip cookies follow me wherever I go...
