A visit with St. Nick

Santa Claus surprised the kids and showed up at our church Christmas Party.  I was happy to get a picture without any of the kids crying.  They don’t look extremely happy but at least there wasn’t any crying.

Austin has wanted a Nerf gun for the past few months.  All he ever says he wants for Christmas is a Nerf gun.  So he goes and sits on Santa’s lap.  In a jolly fashion, Santa says… “And what would you like for Christmas ?”  I carefully stretched my ear toward Santa’s chair so that I could hear.

Austin:  “uh…a truck”    (I was SHOCKED)

Santa:  “what kind of truck?”

Austin:  “Surprise me.”

Then he gets down and walks away.  I was stunned.  It was like a scene from the movie “The Christmas Story”    Austin totally clammed up when he had to tell the big guy what he wanted for Christmas.  All we need to top the event off, was a slide that Austin could climb back up, screaming that he really wanted a Nerf gun.

(Santa must have known the truth though, he really did bring him a Nerf gun, not a truck.)

Where does the time go?

I know, I am probably one of the worst bloggers, but really, I do it so that I have some more memories of the silly things that happen day to day.  I keep a journal, but that doesn’t get all the pictures in it.  I also scrapbook, so that has pictures of a lot of stuff but not as much text about it.  My blog is just another way to keep a memory.  So I’m sorry if you are one of a few that actually check it occasionally.

On an up note.  I’m working on more organization to my days/weeks.  I have actually scheduled some time for myself to blog or scrapbook.  So maybe I’ll be better at it.  Maybe not.
