Spring Break Zoo Day

We met Jennie and Mary and their kids at the Dallas Zoo one day during spring break! Cody was so excited and woke up with an even extra bounce to his step.  I don't know if he was more excited about the zoo or seeing his friends. I know I was looking forward to spending the day visiting with Jennie and Mary!
The very first thing Cody did was get on the carousel next to Charlie.  He was so proud that he got to ride it without me next to him.
Looking at the penguins
We tried to get them to all sit on the rock at the same time but it proved to be an impossible task. These kids have grown up together and up until the last year when Mary moved and Ty and David started kindergarten they saw each other a couple times a week at least! Their momma's are special to me too!
Just like his Daddy, Cody loves maps. He will often draw us a map at home when we are about to go somewhere so we know where to go.
David and Josh or as Cody refers to them as "his best friends" got into the map thing too!
If there is a place to climb...he will find it!
We stopped for lunch in the children's area and they had fun running around and playing in the water.
Happy boy with a change of dry clothes!
They kids all wanted to ride the monorail so we endured the 45 minute wait! Here's the only picture with all 7 kids in it and of course they are sitting down because Mary was distributing cotton candy!
I always say Mary was Cody's first crush! He has loved her from day one of his life. :) He wanted to see over the side of this wall and I couldn't lift him up for long (being pregnant) so Mary came to his rescue to show him the train down on the tracks. Then he just wanted her to hold him.
Riding the Monorail...it was worth the wait!
Cody was so excited to get to sit with Ty and David!
Stopping for a snack!
His souvenir that I let him pick out.  Of all things he wanted a stuffed snake!
We had a fun day being together despite the crowds! And surprised ourselves at how long we stayed and how happy the kids were. So good to all be together again!

Cody's Bike

Grandpa and Grandma gave Cody this bike way before his feet could reach the pedals and he has loved it from that very minute.  He would ride it around using his feet to walk but refusing to learn to pedal.  We let him keep it inside this winter and practice around the house in hopes he would eventually learn on his own. Whenever Jason would workout in the garage he would take it out there and FINALLY he learned to use the pedals on his own and is one proud boy!!

Donuts with Dad

Cody got to bring Jason to school with him one morning for "donuts with dad".  Cody was really funny about seeing so many dads at school when he is use to all the moms doing the drop offs.
This picture of Cody was hanging in the class room with a title "do I look like my dad?"
I love this "interview" his teachers did and to read Cody's answers. So funny!

Big Brother

Coming in May...Cody will be a BIG brother to a new little SISTER and he couldn't be sweeter talking about her! Other than the fact that he is worried that my expanding tummy will never be the same again, he seems to understand that she is growing inside of me.  We have taken him to two sonograms so he could see her. She was moving her arm in one of the sonograms and he is convinced she was waving at him.  I am due around Cody's 4th birthday (May 19th) and we are so excited to add to our little family!

Our Christmas

We spent two days visiting our extended family at the Ranch. My grandmother hosts all of us every other Christmas Eve and we had fun all being together.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.  We drove home late Christmas Eve so we could be at our house Christmas morning. We put Cody to bed and set out his presents. We always say he gets 3 gifts from us but this year he had a couple more little things.
His "stuffed" stocking!
Playing with his new Mickey car wash.
We got this train for around the Christmas tree and he played with it for hours! It has a remote control and he could work it on his own....unless it fell off the track.
My mom put this Santa out in our house as we were growing up.  I asked her if I could have it for my house this year.  Cody and any other little visitor we had loved it.
This is my favorite Christmas decoration that my mom gave us as a wedding gift. She keeps adding to it and I love it so much I keep it out all year!
We enjoyed a quiet white Christmas just the 3 of us! Sadly, we all got colds but we were thankful for the time off work to be home together!

Timberline Lodge - Oregon

When we went to Oregon for Thanksgiving we took a drive to Timberline Lodge at the top of Mt. Hood. It snowed so much and was so pretty to watch! We enjoyed a nice lunch and looking around the lodge.  Cody did not like his bulky coat and was too cold to walk so Jason carried him anytime we were outside. He loved the snow...too bad it was snowing too much and too windy to play in!
