Utah and Thanksgiving!

Wow, where do I start?! Well, Steven and I were able to get buddy passes from Steven's friend so we could fly up to Utah to see Amy and we were planning on leaving the Wednesday before Thanksgiving but everything was full...so we decided to leave on Tuesday and even then we weren't sure if we'd get on a flight. Thankfully we did but when we got to Salt Lake City we had no one to pick us up (originally we were planning on flying in later that night but we got on the early flight) Amy couldn't leave work to come pick us up so...we made ourselves real comfortable. About 5 hours later, Amy came to pick us up.

The next day Steven and I were kind of trapped at Amy's house with no car so we watched movies, ordered pizza and played games. It was fun just to relax even though I know Steven was going crazy! Later that night my brother Jeremy flew in so we had a full house!
Thursday we got up and started cooking of course. Amy did most of the work and did fabulous but we all helped here and there. Our cousins Amanda, James, Tyler and Jenn came over to join us and it made it tons of fun. We didn't have pumpkin pie but we did have pumpkin cheesecake and key lime cheesecake which I'd take over pumpkin pie any day (yuck).
Friday I got talked in to going shopping even though I usually avoid it at all costs. However, we did not get up early. We slept in and left when we were ready. We didn't really do a whole lot of shopping but it was still fun...believe it or not. I just might go next year now! Later that night we saw the movie August Rush which was really really good. I recommend it to anyone interested in seeing it.
Saturday we got up and went to some village to take pictures for our Christmas card. Then we drove up to Park City and did some more shopping then went down to our cousin Curtis's house in Provo to have a barbecue. All the cousins were there again, plus some!
Sunday we went to church and then went over to our friend Wendy's house for dinner. Steven and I were planning on leaving on Monday morning but it wasn't showing any flights so we had to leave Sunday night. They dropped us off and then we found out the flights were either all full or overbooked (for those of you who don't know, buddy passes mean standby... I don't recommend it!at least not Thanksgiving weekend)Anyway, so we had Amy come pick us back up and we were going to attempt to leave Monday morning, after finding out that there WERE flights. So at 4:45 the next morning we got up and drove to the airport, yet again. The flight we were wanting was full but we hoped and waited anyway. While checking in, the lady at the counter said," don't run away just yet. You might get a seat. We had a flight last night that was overbooked and had 7 standby people and everyone ended up leaving and there were two open seats." Yeah, that was the one we were wanting! We couldn't believe it but anyway, about 10 minutes before the final boarding we got called up and even got to sit by each other.
So, this was really long but so was our trip. It was definitely an experience to remember. Most of the pictures are on Amy's blog as well since she got them off our camera but I'm putting them up anyway! Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving as well!
This was major drama for Amy at first!

Yes, there is such a thing as too much football!!!!

My and my sister in the kitchen

After being around each other for a long period of time, we get kind of goofy :o)

Well, last weekend was a ton of fun. Friday night, Alli and Kyle came to stay with us (and Zeus!). We stayed up eating popcorn and ice cream and playing card games. Alli and Kyle taught us a new game that was so much fun! We were all laughing pretty hard. Then on Saturday, my parents drove up so we could go to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. Travis, Brooke, Josh, Trish, Jeremy and my parents and us were all there. It was amazing! I sat there literally in awe the entire time! I definitely recommend them to anyone! It was cool to be able to see the age range there. There were old old people, and kids and teens. I hope the TSO continues to tour because I will definitely be there every year!

I'm a Brunette!

So yesterday I did two things that I've never done before. I went and got a massage, thanks to a wonderful husband who demanded it and I got my hair colored brown! I'm not liking it right now but I think it's just because I'm not used to it. I'll post some pictures sometime in the future of it. It's definitely a change but one I think I was ready for. Anyway, it was a fun day.
Alli and Kyle are staying the night with us tonight and I'm excited to have visitors over! And then tomorrow's the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert which I've already posted about 100 times but I'm way excited for that! Anyway, we'll work on getting some pictures uploaded.

Just a Quick Update

Well, nothing too exciting has happened since we last updated. We've just been working and going to school, as usual. I've got my next semester all planned out and it's going to be a busy one but I'll be done with my associates so there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Steven finished up his landscape job that he was working on and is probably disappointed that it's over. I know it was good for him to get outside and work for once. Anyway, other than that we're just having fun hanging out here at home. This weekend is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert so I'm real excited for that and then next week we fly up to Utah. It'll be nice to have a little getaway and see Amy!
Well, that's all we have for now. We'll update again soon!

The List Could Go On and On

So, I was just sitting here thinking about how wonderful my marriage is and thought that it's because I have such a great husband. It made me start thinking about all the little things that make him who he is. I know no one really cares about this but I do and I want Steven to be able to read this and know why I love him so much. I wanted to do a list of 25 things and when I got to 25 I still had so many more ideas but I stopped at 25.
1.He takes the trash out for me
2.He willingly helps clean
3.He accepts all the weird things I do—and there are a lot :o)
4.He’s open to try new things
5.He’s smart
6.He’s good with people
7.He’ll eat anything I make and not complain!
8.He’s a hard worker
9.He’s the type of guy that likes to be home and not have to watch sports 24/7
10.He’s romantic
11.He gives the best kisses and hugs
12.He’s not embarrassed to be sensitive
13.He’s good with kids and I know he’s going to be a great dad!
14.He takes me shopping!
15.He listens and gives advice even though that’s what he does all day!
16.He likes small towns…like me!
17.He has goals and knows what he wants in life
18.He’s goofy
19.He makes me laugh like no one ever has before!
20.He calls just to say hi
21.He’s understanding and accepting
22.He likes to cuddle and be romantic, even if it’s front of his guy friends :o)
23.He’s always himself
24.He’s athletic and cares about the way he looks
25.He’s my best friend

I love you Steven Michael Carbonneau!

Our First Time to the State Fair!

Both Steven and I had never been to the state fair so we figured we'd go this year! We left yesterday at about 3:00 and stayed until 10:00 last night! We didn't think there would be so much to do! We had a blast! We walked around, went on a few rides (Steven wouldn't go on very many :o) and we ate some very greasy but good food (Indian fry bread, curly fries, corn dogs). We went inside a "fun house" which wasn't so fun. It made me sick! Not really, but the stairs would move and we had to climb through a hundred ropes to get out and then walk through a spinning tunnel. We went to the demolition derby and I think that was by far my favorite part of the fair. It was like live-size bumper cars! We also saw the biggest horse, steer, and pig. The steer was just ridiculous--6'6 tall! I got some pictures of course! And we also had to visit the Harley-Davidson tent. We sat on all the bikes and talked to the guy there about them too. I have to admit, I want one now! I would definitely get one for both Steven and myself. On our way out we walked through the petting zoo which had more animals than I thought. They had a camel, zebra, pigs, mini-horse, ostrich, goats, a bison-looking thing, kangaroo and quite a few more that I can't remember.
