• Gives kisses (to everyone and everything)
• Tries to put on shoes no matter who's they are
• Loves taking out the garbage

• LOVES music
• "Helps" carry things from the car
• Plays peek a boo
• Copies everything we do
• Waves at strangers as they drive away
• "Woofs" when we drive by petsmart (yes we go there that often)
• Points at everything
• Could spend all night in the tub, even if the water is all gone or cold
• Loves tickles. He will actually grab your hand and put it where he wants it
• Pretends to talk on the "phone"
• Snuggles with anything soft 
• Will actually where sunglasses for long periods of time!
• Uses the banana chair as a roller coaster, slide, truck ramp, chair, tunnel, catapult, stool, etc. 
• Lets me snuggle him lots
• Tucks his tiny chair in at the table.
• Cheeses for the camera
• Sits in the blue camp chair forever just enjoying outside 

 Alex is the sweetest! He makes me laugh everyday. He is at such a fun age and I seriously can't get enough of him!

What we did today:

Beach Bum

Alex was SO excited to be at the beach!! 

 My big boy going down the slide all by himself. He LOVED it!

 

Beach Bum COVERED in sand!! He didn't eat too much of it, but it sure looks like he was eating it by the shovel full!

 

We had a blast at the beach! We were fortunate enough to find a good deal on a hotel within walking distance of the beach. The weather was perfect! In the low 80's so not too hot. We ate at an amazing Italian place, slow service, but definitely worth the wait!  But the best part was watching Alex play in the sand. He loved climbing in and out of the hole I dug, filling his bucket, and pointing at EVERYTHING! He is so fun! I thought he would love the water the best because he is such a water baby, but the sand won.

Where did all that time go?!?!

 Umm my baby is 1!!! What happened! He seriously grew up too fast. Here is his first year in pictures:

Some facts about Alex:

• He HATES bread, like it makes him gag he hates it so much.
• He loves fruit, mainly watermelon and bananas.
• Outside is the best place in the world. 
• He loves driving the little tikes cars.
• Anything with wheels are great!
• He is starting to climb on, in, around, over, and onto EVERYTHING!
• He is sleeping a LOT better, but on days he doesn't he just sleeps in bed with one of us.
• He loves going to the playground. Climbing to the top is his favorite. Slides and swings are just an added bonus.
• Being in Utah has helped a ton with him loving other people to hold him. Grandma's and Grandpa's are the best.
• He is curious about everything. He likes to turn things over and see what is underneath and how it works.
• If the Fridge is open he will make sure it gets closed FAST, even if you are in it. This also goes along with any door or cabinet.
• He puts everything in the garbage can. Everything.
• He is a PRO at the stairs. Up and Down.
• His new favorite snack is fruit loops. 
• Anything electronic he HAS to have. And hardly ever gets.
• He seriously makes us laugh out loud at least once a day!
• If you give him a treat he will be your best buddy for life, just ask Aunt Bailee and Uncle Derek.
• He loves to run round and round the trampoline.
• Animals are great! He loves dogs and horses. And they don't scare him one bit.
• He is starting to play with others. And by playing I mean taking turns stealing eachothers toys and snacks. 

And those are just the ones I can think of right now. Alex sure is a blessing in our lives. We are so glad he is ours! He is growing up so fast, but we are loving all of it. Happy Birthday Alex! We love you!

Can I just just say that Alex is the cutest kid ever in a bow tie! Well he is cute without one, but the bow tie definitely adds to the cuteness :)

Summer Catch Up

1 month down and 1 more to go. Our Utah trip is half over. Part of me is so ready to be home, back in AZ in my own space, and the other part wants to stay and be close to family and out of the AZ heat! But we still have one more month so we will make the best of it. Until then, here are some pics of what we have done so far:

So there ya go! We have had a blast, but we still have tons more to look forward to! Like: 4th of July fun, one more cousin on the way, Alex turning 1!, more swimming days, Kendra coming home, bbq's, and more! Until then...

First big crash :(

This morning as I was sitting half asleep on the couch (I was woken up mid dream thanks to Steve and Alex) and I hear a crash. Alex has pulled over his high chair. Okay, I think it can't be that bad (he has already pulled over the chair on top of him). I was wrong. His little forehead had caught the edge of the tray. It left a big scrape and a little dent. The dent quickly turned to a bump and it has been red all day. We both cried; me a little, him a lot. Not a good start to our day. 

Looks worse in person :( plus it is on top of an almost healed bruise from the other day.

 Luckily after a good nap he was all better, ready to play with his toys. And walk. Did I mention he is walking? Yup our 9 1/2 old month is walking! It really isn't any different than crawling since he is already pulling himself up and into things anyway. But it is definitely a FUN milestone :)
