Bath time

Jill's first bath at home. Grandma Julie and I creatively bathed her. We could not get her umbilical cord wet and I wanted to do a swaddle bath, like we do in the NICU, so here is what we came up with. Surprisingly she did not cry and actually enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun too!
Jill's belly button (or cinnamon swirl) after we discovered her umbilical cord fell off.
After Jill's umbilical cord fell off we progressed to a tub bath, which she liked even more.
Jill in her towel made by DeNae, which she loves.
Don't miss the cute whale and name embroidered at the bottom.

Jill's first walk around the block

This is our first family photo at home thanks to grandma Julie, who took the picture. We walked around the block and then to St. Mary's hospital. Grandma Julie received a brief history of the hospital, and outside, we pointed out the floor of the NICU. It was not too hard to find with the photo therapy lights radiating out the windows.Jill slept the whole time we walked. No wonder, with that nice, warm bunting she received from Grandma Julie and Aunt Emily. I need to get me one of those:)

October 13th - I can't believe she was ever this small. She is getting so big.

Shelly came to visit after work.Jill is wearing her "Daddy loves me" shirt and had her picture taken with Dad as soon as he came home from school. Zooming in... so sweet.

Going home from the hospital

Jill wakes up on her last day in the hospital. Often times Jill will open just one eye. Here she is opening her right eye, and below she switches to her left - talented!

Jill getting ready to go home.Jill all ready in her carseat. Perfect fit!
Good bye to our nice room with a great view of the beautiful fall trees.
First picture of Jill at home on her changing table. She was pretty tired from all the activities of the morning.
Now Jill is on Mom and Dad's bed asleep. In the top left corner of the picture, you can also see the Winnie the Pooh characters Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore that hang above her bed.Jill finally wakes up and takes in her new surroundings. Her eyes are so big and beautiful.
Jill gets into her pajamas, which actually belonged to her aunt, Jill Marie, who she is named after. We call these her Rocky pajamas because she looks like Rocky Balboa when she wears them. Then we sing Gonna Fly Now from the Rocky Story soundtrack. In this picture she is even putting up her boxing fists.
Jill fell to sleep saying I love you in sign language.
After changing Jill's diaper, we realized she was still so cute in just a white onesie.
Zooming in... Jill has been pretty quiet unless she needs to eat or sleep. She is constantly studying the world around her.
