Stripped Down Afternoons

We have had some beautiful weather recently, so the majority of our afternoons are spent outside enjoying the sun! Jake insists on going "swimming" so I put the kiddos in their swim diapers and let them splash around in our little ghetto plastic pool. They love it and it makes them happy, so it makes mama happy too!

Ryan has been playing with cars a lot more lately

And climbing on EVERYTHING

Story Time

We have been blessed with two little boys that love to read! Ryan is really picking things up from the books we read to him and it is so cute to see him sniff the flowers in the Pat the Bunny book and point out the ball or the banana or whatever other objects we ask him to find. Jake loves to read Dora books, but has also been letting us read different books and is great about focusing and paying attention to longer stories. I love to hear him laugh at funny parts of a book or ask why someone is sad/mad/tired etc. He is very observant and also has a great memory. He can usually finish my sentences in books that we read often. I hope they keep their love of reading for the rest of their lives!!!

Spring Training

This post officially has WAY too many pictures, but I just could not narrow these down because I loved them ALL. This was one of my favorite days as a family that we have ever had. I love all my guys soooo much!!!  Aren't I a lucky girl to have all of these handsome fellas to myself?

Boys Weekend

I was able to get signed up at the last minute to go to a Women's Retreat with the church where I do MOPS, so Tim got to hang out by himself with our little guys for a night. I think they all had a good time without a mother hen to boss them around :)

The boys will actually BOTH sit on the couch and watch a show together.  So cute!

Simple Joys

The easiest way to see pure joy and excitement on a little kids face is to blow up a few balloons and let them go wild! I love seeing the wonder in their eyes and seeing their smiles light up!

Happy Easter!

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday this year and had a lot of fun with the boys since they were both old enough to dig through their own baskets and hunt for eggs. The Easter Bunny hid puzzle pieces in the eggs since the boys had had more than enough candy from their other egg hunts. Jake wasn't too thrilled about this concept, but I am quite thankful to Mr. Bunny for trying to save my kids teeth from decay!

Mr. Bunny also tried to pull a fast one on us.  See that blue bunny in Ryan's basket?  Look familiar?  Maybe this will refresh your memory!

I tried to find a post from Easter last year and I couldn't find it.  I do remember us all being a little under the weather, so I know we didn't do much, but I thought I had at least posted a few pics.  Well, I looked back through my files and found this cute pic just so you could see how much the Ryan has grown in the past year.  The only pic I had of Jake was kind of scary looking so you only get Ryan this time.  Sorry!

Jumping forward again to 2010.  Jake collecting eggs in our front yard!

Jake's best gal pal, Braelyn

Ryan was a teeny tiny bit more interested in this egg hunt than he was in the others.

I think it's because he had a baseball egg and he LOVES baseballs, footballs, basketballs, wiffle balls, bouncy balls, kickballs, soccer balls, etc.

Coloring Eggs!

We had never colored Easter eggs with Jacob before, so we decided it was time! He thought the whole process was pretty cool and enjoyed choosing what color to put each egg in and loved adding stickers and coloring with crayons after they were dry. Next year will be fun to color the eggs with both boys (Ryan was asleep this time!)
