A Quick Trip to Colorado

In May we all traveled to Colorado to attend Tim's nephew Stefan's high school graduation. It was so nice because the whole family was there! Jake LOVED playing with the younger girls and I think they had a fun time pretending he was their "baby". Ryan got lots of snuggles from his aunties, and in addition to visiting with family, I also got a chance to spend time with my girlfriends Ivory and Rhonda. I didn't take many photos, but here are the ones I did get. Enjoy!

Ryan HATES to eat

Can't you tell???

Cell Phone Junkie

Our little boy has turned into quite the talker. One day we were in the car and Jake was getting a little antsy so we let him call Gigi. He talked to her on the phone for at least half an hour! And he really was talking (although what he was saying is anyone's guess)! I couldn't believe how he just kept on a conversation in his own little language. Every time my mom would try to tell him she had to go, he would start crying and whining and would get so upset, so she just kept on talking to him. It was nice to be able to distract him and also to let him hear Gigi on the other line!

Cutie Pie Clubhouse

I started putting Ryan in his crib for playtime since it was one of the few safe places to play where Jake couldn't come trample him with a bike or some other hard object. It didn't take Jake longer than a second to figure out how to get into the crib with him, but thankfully they play very well together in there. I just love how much Ryan adores his older brother. His little face lights up anytime Jake is near!

Oh how I wish this last photo wasn't blurry. Ryan's face is priceless!

A visit from a UFO

An UNEXPECTED Flying Object, that is. I know, I know, lame joke. Anyway, the first week in May, a hot air balloon landed in the park right behind our house just after we had put the boys to bed. I was thrilled because as we all know, I love hot air balloons! I ran around to take some pics but they had already started taking it down. I wish Jake had been up to see it! He would have loved it!

Boys Will Be Boys - Part 2

I think I know exactly where Jake learning to play rough. Anyone else hase a guess? ;)

Jake riding his "hoe-see"

Macauley Culkin, anyone?

Aha! Mystery Solved!

What Ryan thought of all the excitement :)

Boys Will Be Boys - Part 1

Boys are definitely a different breed, as I am learning each and every day! They have so much fun, just in a different way than girls. I really have to try my best not to break up playtime, but just to be close by in case "play" time turns into "beat up baby brother" time. Case in point:

Our Little Lefty

It's maybe a little too early to tell for certain which hand Jacob will write with, but he most certainly swings a bat with his left hand. He won't even attempt to swing with his right. He's just like mommy!

It probably comes as no shock to anyone that Jake LOVES baseball. He has gotten so good with hitting off the tee, but he also has an excellent coach :) Here are photos from April. Please excuse our unstained fence and long grass.

Back on the Wagon

I feel like I have really been missing out on recording a lot of the boys milestones and just the fun quirky things they are doing from day to day. Things have been so super busy around here but I am going to do my best to keep up with the blog. Get ready for lots of catching up posts!
