40 weeks, 14 months, and 4 new teeth

I don't have time to write much, we are running out the door to get to the hospital for my c-section at 12:30pm.

I posted a bunch of pics below but blogger is being really goofy, so start at the bottom and work your way up if you want to view them in order.

My mom got here on the 19th and we have been having a great week before welcoming our newest little boy!

Jacob turned 14 months on the day my mom arrived and in the past week has cut 4 new teeth! 3 of which are molars, and well, let me just say that wasn't a very fun few days.

I am 40 weeks pregnant today and you can see how big I am in all of the pumpkin patch pictures that we took yesterday.

Sorry this post is totally lame, but I ran out of time. Please keep us in your prayers today! Pray for a safe delivery and a speedy recovery for me and pray that we have a big beautiful healthy baby boy to meet in just a few short hours! Thank you to all of our family and friends for your support and love. It means more to me than you will ever know.

Keep an eye out for pictures of baby 2.0 and big brother Jacob very soon!!!!!!

And oh yeah, I chopped off my hair!!!

Oodles of Olson Photos!

Cutie Pie with a Eating Utensil

A short video of Jake using his fork

He's trying to eat bananas and cheerios with a fork, so it wasn't the easiest task, but he does manage to get one bite! Enjoy the flick :)

Pumpkin Belly

I tie-dyed Halloween shirts for the boys using an idea I saw in Family Fun magazine. Here are Jake and his "little brother" bear modeling my work :)

I realized that I haven't given you many updates on Jake's developments lately, so here are a few of the things he has been doing for a while, and a few he has just recently picked up:
  • High fives - He never does just one though. He likes to give about 5 high fives at a time. So what is that? A high 25?
  • He gives us lots of kisses and hugs now. We are still working on him giving CLOSED MOUTH kisses. But we still love getting slobbered on anyway :)
  • He now signs "all done", "milk", and is starting to get "more". Communication is nice. I hope we can get the hang of a few more signs very soon.
  • He knows how to put his dirty clothes in the hamper and thinks it's so fun that he sometimes puts things like shoes and sippy cups in there as well.
  • He shows us how big he is by throwing his arms up over his head.
  • He can point to his eyes, nose and belly button when asked where they are. We're working on mouth, ears, feet and hands.
  • He is getting better and better by the day eating with a fork. He loves when he gets something to stick to the prongs and makes this hilarious little laugh when he does it.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope you all are doing great!

The Party is Over

Sorry about my ramblings earlier. It's just been one of those days. I showered, cleaned myself up and felt a lot better. I even got my camera out and realized that I had actually taken a FEW pictures, so I'm not a totally bad mom. Here are some random pics:

Jake playing with balloons from the surprise baby shower my super sweet friends threw for 2.0 last month.
He LOVES balloons!
So fun!

Jake also loves to stack things.
And likes to pretend to drink soda. Wishful thinking! I believe he dropped one of these cans shortly after and we ended up with a huge sticky mess.

So excited to be dancing around in his new Pedipeds

Mom, how come your shoes aren't as cool as MY new shoes?

Learning to bounce on his zebra from the awesome Koppenaal's (who just closed on their first home! CONGRATS!!!)

Cutie pie preppy boy

And a few from today- climbing up the ladder

We divided our backyard so that Jake could play in the grass without having to worry about where the dogs have done their business.

Playing with rocks.

Trying to put the rocks in the planter

Pity Party for One

I'm really, really pregnant. And hormonal. And uncomfortable. And sleep deprived. I don't have any pictures of Jake for you. Why? Because I haven't taken my camera out the entire time he has been 13 months old. My mind has just been in 5 million other places and I actually kind of forgot that I even OWN a camera.

It hasn't helped that Jake got a nasty cold last week and ever since has been completely boycotting anything resembling an afternoon nap. I've tried pushing his morning nap back so that maybe he will just take one long mid-day nap, but so far my efforts have been unsuccessful and all I end up with is a tired, cranky toddler at the end of the day. *Sigh* I know we will figure it out, but man is it tough to figure out how to deal in the mean time.

Despite all of my discomfort, baby 2.0 and I are both healthy and doing well. He is still giving me strong kicks and punches even though he is running out of space. I tell Tim that he probably won't ever come out because he is having no trouble making himself cozy in there. He doesn't mind stretching his legs out even if it means I have a ridiculous pointy protrusion out of my right side. He seems to be growing right on schedule, as my belly is measuring right where it should be. I am convinced that he is going to be bigger than Jake was at birth, partly because my maternity shirts dont even really cover my belly anymore, and partly because I've gained a little more with this one than with Jake. Just a teeny tiny bit, but I'm blaming it on a heftier baby ;)

I know you are hearing a lot of complaining in this post, but it's mostly because we are VERY ready to meet this little one. We know our life is going to be turned upside down (again), but we are READY. We can't wait to be a family of four. We can't wait to see Jacob be a big brother. And we can't wait to see who 2.0 looks like. But we can wait, because we have no choice. And we know he will come when he is ready (or on October 27th, whichever comes first!).
