Jake does the Park!

Jake finally got to visit the park while we were in Farmington! He was a bit tired for our adventure, but he had fun anyway and was a little trooper with all the new things we were exposing him to. Here are the pics:

So judging by the photos I made it home with after visiting in Farmington it would appear that all Jake did the entire time we were there was take baths! Of course, that is not all we did. We got to see Papa and Gigi's new house, we visited with family and even had a game night! My mom and I got to take in a movie and all in all we had a great time. I still have more pictures to come, but here are two bath sequence pictures of Jake. He LOVED the shower sprayer!!!

Graduation Weekend!

My dear, sweet Dad graduated on May 10th with the degree of Doctor of Education! We made the loooooooooong drive from McKinney to Las Cruces, NM to spend the weekend celebrating his awesome accomplishment. Here are the photos:

CONTEST! And a few things I forgot...

• Jake was born 1 week early
• Jake weighed 7lbs 12oz, 21 inches
• If I make it to my due date, I will most likely have a c-section that day. In other words, don't guess past my due date because it just ain't happenin' ;)
• I was a chunky baby - 8lbs 1oz
• Tim was even chunkier - 9lbs 14oz

Also, I can't believe I forgot to mention these things yesterday, but here are some more of Jake's recent accomplishments:

• The little guy is babbling like crazy and even saying "Mama"!!! Yay! We're working on "Dada" so Tim doesn't feel left out :) "Baba" is another favorite sound he makes.
• Jake is learning how to wave. He doesn't quite do it at the appropriate times yet, but it is so cute when he does it!
• Jake loves music and bounces to the beat whenever he hears it. We were eating at a sandwich shop the other day that had music playing and Jake was even nodding his head to the beat there. ADORABLE!
• Jake has started to get a bit shy. When someone he doesn't know very well talks to him he smiles and blushes and kind of cocks his head to the side in embarrassment. He just started doing it one day out of the blue. It's such a cute little face!
• He does not like kisses! Anytime someone tries to give him a kiss he turns his head away. I can already picture him in a few years runing away saying "Ewwww, cooties!!!!" LOL

These were taken a few days before we left to NM. I am still sorting through those pics, but they will be up soon. I figured I better update you all before I forget, so here's what's new with the Olson Family:

• Jake is crawling like a champ, although he still prefers to drag his belly.
• He can walk along the edge of furniture and pulls up just about anywhere he can. He's getting faster by the day and I have a feeling it won't be too long before he takes his first steps.
• Jake is 9 months old! His first birthday is right around the corner and I am just in disbelief!
• Baby v.2.0 had a check up on Tuesday and his/her little heartbeat is at 153 bpm and everything seems to be going great! We scheduled the big ultrasound where we will get to find out the sex (hopefully) so watch for that news mid-June!
• Another ExpectNet game is in the works, so get your guesses ready for the new baby!
• And since my brother is having Tim withdrawals, Tim is having his wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow. Aren't you jealous??? ;)

Anyone having Jake withdrawal?

Sorry I haven't posted in over two weeks! We just got home last night after 11 days in New Mexico and I have some cute new pictures to share, but they will have to wait until I can finish unpacking and getting my life back in order.

To hold you over though, my awesome friend Alisha was in Farmington the same time we were and took some photos of Jake! You can see them on her blog, by clicking here. He wouldn't flash his famous mega-watt grin because he was tired, but she got some really sweet photos of my baby boy anyway. Thank you Lish! I love them and can't wait to see the rest :)
