The Kitchen Painting is FINISHED!!!!

About 3 months after we officially began tearing apart our breakfast nook walls in our kitchen, we have finally finished! Here are some before, during, and after photos. We are so happy with the results!

The first photo shows the wallpaper and border that was on the walls from the previous owner. Its funny I have a picture of Tim working on this, because I was the one who did most of the removal! (Yay me!) I told Tim he is going to have to start taking some of the pictures so that I can show my face :)

The second photo shows Tim texturing the wall. This was such a huge task and we really had no clue what we were doing, but it turned out great! We used a product from Home Depot called Behr Texture Paint (Smooth). Its pretty thick, plaster-like stuff that you slather on the wall and mold however you wish.

The third photo shows the wall after we had textured, primed and then painted it with Behr paint in "Red Stone".

The 4th & 5th photos show the finished product! We ragged on a Ralph Lauren glaze tinted with the color "Stable Brown". We finished it with a polyurethane glaze to help protect it and harden the texture.

This was a big undertaking but we love it so much more than the grape wallpaper that was here before. We hope you like it too! You can also see a nice view of our new dining set from World Market. No more eating on TV tray's for us! At least not ALL the time ;)

On a non-decorative note, Tim and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary next Sunday! I can't believe how quickly this first year has gone by. We will try to take a nice picture of us and post it next week! Hope you all are doing well! We miss all of you!

Holy Moly! It's 2007!!!

Happy New Year!!! I can't believe it is 2007! What a year 2006 was and my oh my how quickly it flew by! We spent New Year's with our dear friends Stacey & Brian and got too meet their beautiful baby girl, Shelby. She is such an angel and really, truly one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen! We are so happy for our friends and Miss Shelby is very lucky to have them as parents. Here is a picture of Tim testing out his baby skills and letting Shelby nap on him.

So far, 2007 has been pretty quiet. I was exhausted from all of our holiday travel, so I have been catching up on sleep and getting back into the swing of things with work. Tim decided to make one last road trip before the season starts to go cheer on his Florida Gators at the BCS Championship in Glendale, AZ. He is having a great time visiting with his friends (and getting to see some of mine too - can you say JEALOUS!). He's hoping his Gators can pull off a win! We shall find out in the next couple hours :)

This week I start back up with my neighborhood Bunco group and a few Pi Phi Alumni Club activities. I will be glad to get out and visit with the few people I have met so far here in Texas! We have a dining room table coming in, which I couldn't be more thrilled about! I am tired of eating off of tv trays (although they have been very useful!). I will post pictures soon (yes, I realize I STILL need to post kitchen pictures. I will, I will!).

I hope 2007 will bring many fun adventures for all of you! Take care of yourselves and don't forget to keep in touch with us! We would love to hear from you, just send us an email! stephandtim@hotmail.com
