Life In a Small Town

Dang..didn't realize I hadn't been here since February! It HAS been a long time gone. Been writing my more personal stuff over at my "old diary sites". Thinking about possibly converting this space into a teacher blog of sorts. Not sure about that yet. I've read other teacher blogs. They are amazing. Me--- not so much. But hardly anyone ever reads me here. And those that do, know my day to day stuff from Facebook. So...we'll see. Just wanted to check in. See if anyone missed me.

yep...I did it. I forgot to post my picture for yesterday. The prompt was dinner....shoulda been simple for me. Well...here it is. The dinner I ate last night! my version of a taco salad/nachos supreme, made from leftovers. ~leftover Wolf brand chili, poured over the Great Value (walmart) brand Tostito scoops chips, with shredded cheese, lettuce, and tomato. (We were out of sour cream!) it was yummy! not so good for my tummy tho! Today's prompt is BUTTON hmmm ...gonna have to cheat be creative on this on. I will admit to not having taken a picture of a button today. BUT...I do have pictures of buttons saved...so I shall share one of them. I use to be one of those girls who had buttons pinned all over my jacket...yanno...back when that was in style...like 30 years ago! Since I am no longer a teenager, and way too cool to do that anymore, I just save pictures of buttons I like. This is one of them...and OH.SO.TRUE for me right now! ha!! dontcha love it? I came across this new photo challenge while reading my bloggy/facebook/and now pinterest friend Cathy at Tales of the TCKK Family . (hope that link works..halfway through typing it, I realized I'd forgotten the code!) I think my last post was about all the stress of my family's health issues right now... Of corurse there is my dad's failing health, and now this thing with my mom...could be rheumatoid arthritis, could be cancer, but whatever it is her tiny little body is ib so much pain that she's barely able to do much more than prepare meals and move around a little, because being still brings on the tremors and seizures from the other nuerological issues she's been dealing with. And then there's my grandmother, who fell in the ditch, has been taking too many or too few pain pills because she now cant keep them straight and has now developed shingles. Then, on top of all that...I found out Friday night that my 16 year old nephew has been sent to a place in Little Rock because he told his friends his life sucked so bad he was going to go home and kill himself, so they told the school counselor who luckily got him some help. He will be there another week I think, and says it all s...

(or WHINING as it may be) YOU'VE BEEN WARNED: This is me right now: I am sitting at my desk at school, eating a bowl of potato soup, having just broken down in my asst. principal's office. Tears and everything. I hate it when I get like that...when it just overtakes me and I can't control it. I feel like I can't breathe... it's something new everyday..more to do..more paperwork to fill out, more assessments to give, more progress monitoring, more special ed documentation, more observations, more turn in this form, and finish your professional development hours because we screwed you out of some, and get those monthly writing prompts done and hung in the hall, and get your assignment done for the book study tomorrow, be at this meeting during your prep time and at this other meeting after school, and oh yeh..be the best teacher you can be and don't let one minute go by that you aren't instructing the children. While I've got a few minutes.... I came across this in my friend Cathy's blog. She always has awesome survey thingies! 1. A new Miss America was crowned on Saturday night-did you watch? If you were a contestant what would your talent be? ~umm...do they have a category for how to burn yourself the most while cooking?? I'm really good at that! 2. Do you have houseplants?
