since karin came back. have been meeting her and tom for steamboat at bugis. walking and catching up at marina square. been with them and line and friend to johor bahru for a day trip. went to RITS and played the luge. =D and then karin and i decided on renting a car and driving around singapore with tom and *y. =D
and so. our first stop of the day was
casuarina curry at upper thomson road. =D

karin's soursop and my teh-o.

my bee hoon goreng. so so. thought the one at clementi road is better. =)
their sambal sotong.

shared the paper prata.

plaster prata. my first time trying since hearing it from wan back when i was back at jscc. acquired taste ba.

tom's muterbak (is the spelling right?) with cheese. =D

karin and *y had the mutton bryani. which i thought the rice was good.

me behind the wheel after brunch! =D

the winding road up to pierce reservior.

and our foray for good food started at seletar camp. =D

spot it yet?

located at singapore flying club.
sunset grill and pub. =D

the babe and me! =D

a view of the place.

and i enjoyed the serenity of the place very much. only bad thing was the inaccesiblity of the place. hmmmz.

the jug of ice cold tiger for tom and karin.

picture perfect! =D

and *y and my root beer. coz i can't drink since i'm driving and darling didn't drink too. =D

our half dozen of level 1 buffalo wings. it didn't have any effect on me. tom found it spicy. karin was ok. *y felt the heat. =D

our button mushrooms were ok. but i thought if the batter's breadcrumbs it would be better.

our tea time snacks. =D

and the half dozen of level 2 wings. slightly spicier and sourish. but i quite enjoyed it. but give me level 1 any day! ok. before you guys get lost. the level determines the spiciness of the wings. from level 1 till 10. out of curiousity we asked how many customers actually order the level 10 and guess what? about 2 to 3 tables each day! =X my tian!

the much anticipated sunset.

and then we drove out to night safari. =) been ages since i last went there.

after catching the creatures of the night show we headed to... ...
ben and jerry's at dempsey hill. =D

tom's ice cream.

karin's with the waffle basket.

and *y and my banana boat! =D

then we went over to
newton food centre for a late dinner. =D

what more than our favourite zi char. =D there's so many seafood bbq stalls that we deceided to juz try this particular although karin was a bit hesitant coz of the halal logo.

the lalas.

tom's favourite 'man tous'. =D

and the guys had fun stacking them up. =D
the sambal stingray which i thought was quite nicely done. =D

throw in a cup of sugarcane and we were on our way to a satisfying dinner.

and my personal craving. chilli crab!!! =D but the gravy could be better. no kick at all. =X

and off we went to mustafa centre for some late night shopping. besides karin. it was a first for the other 3 of us there. =D

and after walking up and down and debating on things to buy. we went to drive round the east. places like changi village. the airport. and geylang. =)
thought it was quite late to see the pretty boys. but man! were we wrong! at even 3 plus in the wee hours of the morning. there were quite a number around and one even ran after a car trying to get a customer! and some of their figures were so good that karin and i started telling tom and *y how inferior we felt. damn. =X
and being unfamiliar with the east was not rewarding at all. we (or rather i) spent so long trying to locate yong he you tiao. =X

their soya bean and beancurd is still on the average for me. still prefer my rochor's. =D
