Just a catch up...

Hey girls =)

Just thought I would do a catch up post as apart from my scheduled blog hop post for Scrap365 there has been crickets chirping here all month. I have been super busy creating but alas not much to share as it is all for publications or future stuff. Also doing lots of CHA ordering for my store ( soooo much fun) and organizing a new DT!!

I know sneaks are a bit boring, but at least it is something to show right?

In other news, I can now tell you I am a Creative Team member for Scrapbooking Memories!! My 'jump-up-and-down-while-trying-not-to-wet' myself moment for this one has kind of passed. Although my first article has only just been published, I am actually 6 months into my term. Feels weird announcing it now but hey it was a nice surprise. I always thought they chose the CT from entrants to the Masters comp and I have yet to submit to that, so it was pretty cool to get that email!!

Thought I would share this little tit bit too as it made me laugh. So my hubbie emerged from his home office ( aka online games room) to tell me that he searched Google images for a photo of himself and "apparently the most important thing about me is you". DAMN STRAIGHT!! He had one photo online to my 49 lol. So that got me on to Google too, seeing how people find my blog. The top search being my name, the second my blog addy. Then I thought I would search for my blog name, Paper Vs Scissors, and then this little gem came up...

Yes, believe it or not, there seems to be many women that face the dilemma of paper vs procreation. Personally, paper wins hands down. I am not sure if I find it more disturbing that there must be lots of women that type this in for it to come up in a search or that they would actually refer to Google to make this choice for them. The mind boggles!! (And yes after further investigation I now know it was referring to an iphone app but my initial thought was much more amusing)

Take care

Scrap365 Blog Party !!!!

Scrap365 New Beginnings Blog Hop!!

The new issue of Scrap365 magazine is now on sale with more pages and projects than ever. To celebrate Scrap365 is hosting a huge blog party all week!

As well as some fabulous inspiration from the newest members of the design team, there are fantastic prizes to be won along the way as well as a star prize of a Provocraft Cricut Mini Electronic Cutter worth £129!

This marvelous mini machine can be connected to a computer or standalone with standard Cricut cartridges – the best of both worlds! To win this fabulous prize visit the Scrap365 blog for the prize draw details. To find out more about the new Cricut Mini visit here

For this hop we were asked to scrap about 'New Beginnings'. I decided to scrap about a 'will probably only last for a week or two' new years resolution. To try and relax and enjoy things more instead of worrying about the 'what if's' all the time.

I am also joining in with the White With 1 challenge this month. The color palette is white + red + aqua and a summer photo. As for summer, this is about as summery as it gets for me. It was taken on our balcony having a wine after dinner. So sorry guys, no pics of me frolicking at the beach in a bikini. Trust me when I say you really should thank me for sparing you that!

Once Upon A Sketch January Challenge

Hey all =) I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas & New Year. I am trying to get back into things here, just a few more days of house guests then it will be back to business as usual!

So it is time for a new sketch challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. This month's theme is all about the start of something new. Here is my take...

I have some hidden journalling under the shipping tag all about my hopes for 2013. A year of endings for us. We are moving house shortly, I am hoping hubbies job situation changes soon, it is my son's my final year of high school before college, my step daughters final year of uni before her post grad work. As for me I am still plodding along doing what I do.

It's funny, whenever hubbie comes into my scrap room and asks what I am doing, my response 90% of the time is, 'I'm waiting for paint to dry'. And it has occurred to me that this really could be a great metaphor for where I am at ( and probably have been for a while) in life. I seem to be always waiting for something to happen before I move forward. And for 2013 I want to change that and stop waiting. Nothing big, just small things.

I want to devote more time to my store. I have my first ever teaching opportunity in March, which is something I never saw myself doing but am now open to the opportunity that maybe this could be something I could do on a more regular basis? And I thought maybe this year I might actually apply for scrap related stuff. You know I have ever only applied for one DT position before which was Bird Is The Word. I always figured if someone wanted me, they would find me and maybe also a fear of rejection stopped me. But this year, I want to change that =)

So anyway, that's my dribble =) Oh and speaking of DT positions. Paper Stories is having their first ever DT call for our monthly challenges, you can see all the details on our blog here. I have had an amazing response so far and it is really going to be a tough choice. I would LOVE to see more Aussie girls apply though ;)

.............................................................

I can't wait to see some more amazing entries at OUAS this month. Sadly this will be my last month at Once Upon A Sketch. I have been with Once Upon A Sketch since 2011 and it is very very close to my heart. It was the first ever challenge site I entered and the lovely comments and support from the girls there really made me want to continue on my scrapping journey. Nadia invited me to the team when I was still very much a newbie and I will be forever grateful for the lessons learnt, growth, support and friendship that I discovered there =)
