Dengan kuasa Allah, we' ve managed to hit the 34 weeks mark 2 days ago, surpassing all the gynaes' expectations. Alhamdullilah. Everyday that Ah Fat ( wans nickname for her) stays inside mummy's tummy is a bonus.
We did a scan on Tuesday. Theres enough amniotic fluid. Baby is still breech and fat hence the nickname. Shes measuring 2.7kg which gynae said is on e big side. Not that she cares so much since im going thru c-sect anyway.
Our aim is to hit 36 weeks coz i tink by then her lungs have matured and hapofully no need for nicu. So we have set a date for the c-sect. Wan wanted her to come out on 5th october so that she shares 1 birthday with Sofea n also he can go on a long paternity leave
I on the other hand is hesitant that she might clashed with sofea having e same birthdate, knowing how strong headed the 1st born is. Plus 5th october she'll b only 35+6 weeks. So honestly i want her to cross the 36 weeks mark.
The gynae made a call to the Labor Ward and it turns out their ots are fully booked on the 5th oct. So i choose the nearest Friday (mintak2 dapat baroqah beranak hari Jumaat) which falls on 7th october 2016. Whatsmore yr Abah has been having dreams of me giving birth and then another one of u, looking all chubby and full of hair. So insyallah we'll see u on the 7th Oct Ah Fat.

@ 31 Weeks

Possibly the scariest thing that could happen to any pregnant woman.
So on 31/8 i was 30+6weeks and had gone for a cervix measurement scan at adc b4 seeing dr ann. At my 28 weeks checkup i mentioned that i had loads of discharge and some spotting during the kl trip and she suspected i might have a short cervix hence this scan.
It was a vaginal scan. The filipino sonographer barely inserted the long stick into my vajayjay and we saw something strange on the screen. Wait is that my waterbag?? It seems to be a full view of my waterbag with something floating in it. The placenta or the babys foot? I can suddenly sense the sonographers face turning a lil panicky. She told me not to move while she got her senior. This indian lady then went hmm urrrmmand said maam we need to get u on a wheelchair. A porter will come n bring u to see yr gynae and she will explain to u. By this time wan and i are totally lost.. Like wth is happening? Is sthg wrong with e baby?
So i was pushed to clinic B and dr ann immediately made me lie on the examining table and measured my tummy with a measuring tape and said.. Ok thats it im sending u to e labor ward. Your scan said ure fully dilated.. WHAT THE FUCKKK?? But i dun want to give birth now! Im only 31 weeks!!!.. Dr ann made calls to delivery ward coz apparently she was also panicking. She said they will see what the docs can do but shes def not doing VE on me at the clinic coz she might burst e waterbag. SIGH
So while im being pushed to e labor ward, i made several calls to many2 ppl esp my boss coz tmrw im supposed to attend e annual stocktake with auditor. Got to e ward, apparently they were ready for me. Quickly made me sign forms, change into scrubs, steroid injection, hook to ivs and ctg and there was also a bbay cot with oxygen tank nearby. Wan went out to make calls n register me while im still trying to process whats going on. Im 30+6 eks to be exact n i dun even know if this baby is going to survive. Her est weight was only 1.8kg n i started tearing.
Wan left ard 10pm and i was still stuck to e bed. Im not allowed to move and had to use bedpan to pee. Had my 2nd dose of steroids at ard 5am which made my arms n face tingle. Apparently this is to quickly mature the babys lungs should she come out now. By e next a.m
It was clear i wasnt giving birth. No contractions or waterbag burst so i was transferred to a normal ward
I was in Ward B1 apparently. 4 beds bt only 1 occupied by me bt my form stated ward A. Had the toilet and showers all to myself. I later learnt that due to the high risk nature of my pregnancy theyve placed me there 1st instead of e normal ward. I was sent for cervix scan again for the next 3 dayz n monitored by ctg. By fri dr ann came n did a VE and insisted that my cervix was closed.. Like how it was when she VE me at my 28weeks checkup. Cervix felt soft like how someone who had given birth.. Obviously. So she sent me down again for another scan this time with the senior sonoghaphers watching and finally they concluded.. Yes my cervix is closed but so so thin.. Only 0.15cm. Was put on progesterone and cervix went up to 0.8. By 4th day saturday, they transferrd me to ward C.. Oh my what a world of difference. Thank god i only stayed till monday noon. I insisted to be discharged bcoz honestly it was so noisy with no privacy i hardly slept. On strict bedrest at home now. Alhamdullilah gonna hit 34 weeks tomorrow

@ 28 Weeks
Welcoming 3rd trimester.. I'm easily tired and getting heavier. My legs hurt from too much walking. At times I cant breathe properly and its uncomfortable to bend down with a huge tummy. But omg I can't wait to get the end of the tunnel! Gynae's aiming for delivery mid October which is around 38 weeks. That means I have only 10 weeks to go, Ya Allah pls give me strength esp when going to work.
Yesterday was the 28th week growth scan. As usual, we can't tell head or butt apart on the screen. Apparently we saw the head, stomach, heart beating, arms and legs but gender was obscured. Placenta has moved up a bit (upper anterior) which explains the movements which i can now feel from outside the tummy. Baby is in breech position and giving me horrible heartburns 24/7. Baby is measuring 1.4kg, about 2 weeks ahead. Otherwise, everything else looks normal.

@ 26 Weeks
I'm wondering if baby's going thru growth spurt? Coz my belly was so huge last night, it hurts!
At 1st, I kept thinking maybe its the kicap cili padi i ate during lunch yesterday that had me drinking gallons which caused the stomach to expand like mad. I even peed like 6x-7x that night! But i woke up this a.m with my belly visibly huge. The whole of today, I'm experiencing cramps which I believe is round ligaments pain la. And, i've been eating non-stop. I wouldn't say im having cravings or an increased appetite.. i'm just hungry all the time! Also, i feel the little girl in there has been quiet the past few days. Not sure if it's becoz I'm too tired and zonked out every night so I don't feel her much.. but generally lesser movements.
Ppl kept telling me with 2nd pregnancy time seems to move much faster because u're so busy with #1. Didn't feel time moved fast enough but i'm definitely busier and dead tired. Felt like I was on a bullet train since last week of Ramadhan then thru the 1st 3 weeks of Raya and now P1 registration stress plus Sofea been slacking on homework and spelling tests. Well could be my fault coz i'm sooo tired all the time, I feel i havent been paying attention much to her. Bibik is literally doing most of my job as a mother. Bathing her, feeding, sending to sch, bringing to playground. I feel so incapicitated! Seriously, can't wait for Oct to come!

@24 Weeks
Selamat Hari Raya! Today is 7th Syawal and boy was I glad Ramadhan finally came to an end. I couldn't fast at all cos I needed to eat every 3 hours otherwise i'll feel faint but I can't be eating openly can I? I tink the worst part was waking up for sahur. Hated it but no choice, if not Wan has to eat alone . So yes, this is the 1st Ramadhan that i didnt feel guilty at all for not fasting. Only Allah knows.
Anyway...We're 6 mths baby which means 3 more months to go! Can't wait to give birth! No seriously, I feel so exhausted, moody and irritable with this pregnancy, I wish i can give birth now. Yea, not possible I know. Gynae already said yesterday she's aiming for mid to late October depending on how my BP behaves. So hopefully I can start going on maternity leave 2nd week of October 2016.
Yesterday, spent more than half a day @ KKH. Seriously, I was there from 9am to 3pm. Morning did Glucose test up till 11.40am. Thankfully, i'm not a candidate of Gestational Diabetes. Then cabut to Bugis for lunch @ Jinja Chicken coz i've been wanting to try since it went halal. Close to 4Fingers concept but i tink i prefer 4Fingers chicken.
Then back to KKH. Dr Ann is no longer at Clinic A.. sob2. Really like Clinic A coz its so much quieter and there's a pharmacy in the clinic itself. She's now based in Clinic B, ok not so bad. At least there's a scan machine in the room so I'll get to see baby every visit and not as crowded as Clinic C da mcm polyclinic and the docs also like tak kuasa punya kes. All good for me coz i'm paying subsidized rate but I get to stick to Dr Ann till the end and get to see baby's scan every visit. Alhamdullilah. Dr Ann is this old angmoh lady gynae but very nice and patient.
Gotta see baby yesterday. Member tengah baring melintang across my tummy. But as usual, I can't make out head or legs. Only saw the heartbeat pumping away. Actually I'm a bit worried. Ever since the 20 weeks detailed scan, baby like not that very active. Sleeping most of the time. Hopefully this is normal for babies at this stage. She was sleeping away too yesterday, wriggled a bit but I can't feel a damn thing.
Asked gynae to check her growth progress. Turned out she's quite a big baby. She's a 24 weeks baby measuring like a 26 weeks old. 800g as opposed to the avg of 600g. Have a feeling she's gonna be bigger than Sofea coz with Sofea, no matter how much I ate, she was growing only at an avg rate. Whatever, it is Ya Allah, pls keep this baby healthy. Now looking forward to the 28th week growth scan on 10th August.

@ 21 Weeks
Baby is 21 weeks today Alhamdullilah and I shall dedicate this post with lotsa pink becoz we're having a..
GIRL! More yay to Sofea coz Allah actually grant her prayers for a baby sister! She jumped with joy (literally) knowing it's a girl.. "YAY! THANK YOU ALLAH!" Hope she becomes a loving and responsible elder sis.
So yesterday, I had to go for a re-scan. Not once but 4x! Coz baby was comfortably facing my back. Only turned after I had something to drink and munch bt that too she faced my back again while the sonographer was taking pics of her heart. She did a butt turn and of course I had to quickly ask the nice lady to confirm the gender. I saw it v clearly that it was a girl :) Doc's review was everything's normal. Saw a bit of the report myself, baby was avg sized for her age.
Anyway can I just say sthg? I feel bad saying it outloud but i was really hoping for a girl But because this pregnancy felt so different from Sofea's I was mentally prepared for a boy. So when the sonographer said it's a girl, I was pleasantly surprised. So did Wan. But in all honestly when I go to Cotton On and see baby boy's clothes of black and blue I felt a little bit depressed. Anyway, i'm looking forward to buying cute dresses and pink decor!
And oh, another thing to be grateful for.. I felt baby kicked me this a.m like 4x! Come on girl kick more la!

@ 20 weeks
Alhamdullillah, we've reached the halfway mark! Last week I had the detailed scan but at 1st baby wasn't cooperating well. Baby was facing my back so basically we mostly saw the spine. The sonographer told us to take a walk. I had some milo and custard bun and returned for the 2nd scan with baby facing up. So this was what we found out so far pending doc's review this coming Wednesday.
- the placenta is anterior meaning its positioned on my front tummy and cushioning baby's movements, just as I suspected considering i'm 20 weeks and I havent felt any big movements yet. With Sofea I felt her moved when she was only 16 weeks in the tummy! Least to say, i'm a bit disappointed la! Already i'm not looking so pregnant (AP to be blamed too!)
- we saw the heartbeat, 2 legs, 2 feet, 2 arms, 2 hands with fingers, back head only measured 6cm in diameter. We saw the eye sockets, the heartbeat, stomach, brain and kidneys.
- Surprise, surprise.. sonographer can't see anything sticking out in between the legs so she concluded its most likely a girl. I'm not too convinced honestly coz my gut feeling says its a boy. In any case, we have prepared a name for whichever gender that Allah gives. But me being so gatal, of course I had to do the gender tests heheh. Here are my results:

- Ring test over belly - swings back and forth like a pendulum = Boy
- Craving for salty and spicy food = Boy

- Chinese Gender Chart = Boy
- Dream of a chubby baby boy - in reality shd be opp sex = Girl
So yes, I had mixed results. hehee..Not that it matters la. What's more important is that baby is healthy. Next Wednesday a.m I have to go for another quick scan before seeing the doc for review. Apparently they couldn't get a clear pic of the baby's heart and lips. Praying everything goes well.
