In the last year...

It has been a long time since my last blog...over a year!  My sister has just started a blog and has renewed my interest in blogging.  So here goes...

Since the last time I wrote, I had a beautiful baby boy!  I found out that I was pregnant one weekend when we were fishing in Helen, Ga.  We went fishing again when I was around 14 weeks pregnant and I caught my biggest fish ever!

My best friend, Ashely, took some pregnancy pictures of my around 35  weeks.  This is my favorite...

I worked right up until Fisher was born.  As a matter of fact, I worked a 12 hour shift on my due date (October 28)!  Then I got quite a treat on Halloween...

Yes, I look rough...but I did it all natural!  I am so thankful for a healthy little boy!  I am also very thankful for a move to dayshift when my maternity leave was over!

Here a some more pictures of Fisher...

Visiting Cousins

"Mimi" and Carson
Carson's early Birthday

I think it's a hit!

Last weekend Bart and I went to visit our cousins, Stephen and Lisa and their little boy Carson.  We had a lovely visit and got to celebrate Carson's birthday a little early.

Fabulous Husband

I have a fabulous husband! The other day I had to work Saturday on dayshift (not my normal week night, nightshift.)  When I got home he had dinner prepared.  Not just any dinner!  He grilled Lamb chops, made pasta salad, and baked sweet potatoes.  That's better than I normally cook for him!  Thanks, Bart!

Starting to Snow

"It's starting to snow!"
"This is why my teeth are chipped."
Diesel wouldn't cooperate for a picture together...
Diesel and I had to go out to play in the snow flurries!  He was frolicking and having a great time, and would not be still for pictures!  As I upload these pictures and write this blog, the snow flakes are getting bigger and starting to stick!  I'm so thankful I don't have to work tonight!  We might go play some more!

Kendra and I took a road trip down south for Michele's wedding weekend!  (Thanks Rick and Terry for letting us stay at your house!)  We got to see our old friends, the Domms, as well as several others.  A visit to the old Friendship Clubhouse was cause for much reminiscing.  And of course, my mom got a family picture!

Home

mom and dad and me
Becky, me and Todd

We really slacked off on taking pictures this Christmas.  We didn't get any pictures of my 25th Birthday dinner, Christmas in Augusta, or Christmas morning brunch at Aunt Pam's!  Let me reassure you, though, we had a wonderful Christmas!  Lots of time with family and fun gifts.

After Christmas, Bart and Diesel went to Mississippi to duck hunt.  Bart said Diesel did VERY well.  This was his first big duck hunt.  Everything "just clicked" and  they had a ball.  All of the hard work and training paid off!  Now I have three ducks in my freezer to take to the taxidermist!  Also, we ate duck poppers last night.  (Who would have thought I'd be helping make duck poppers!?!)

While Bart and Diesel were off galavanting in Mississippi, I took the opportunity to go home to visit mom and dad.  I decided that I wait entirely too long in between my visits!  I had a wonderful time in Thomasville.  Beautiful city, fun with old friends, and my old house!  Dad has completely taken over my old room.  He now calls it the "man cave."  The walls are now green and lined with bookshelves, and he put a flat screen T.V. in there!  The stuff I left in the closet was moved to the garage for me to go through.  I tossed out a bunch of it, but I just couldn't part with my American girl dolls and their furniture!  I also took a trip down memory lane as I sorted through the chest at the foot of my old bed trying to decide what to keep and what to throw away.  It was kind of fun, but I threw out almost all of it.  I don't need every old note from high school, dried out corsages, or pep rally props!  I have pictures of everything in scrapbooks that I did keep!  I only have so much room in my house, and I can't stand clutter.  I would marry a pack rat! =)

I am so thankful for my childhood, upbringing, and every road that brought me to where I am today!  I have a wonderful life filled with fabulous friends and family.  I love you all!

The Guys
Ready to head home.

The first weekend of December we took our annual trip to the cabin in Blue Ridge to celebrate Christmas with "Mama Grit" and "Doc Webb" (as Bart calls my parents).  We had a very relaxing weekend reading in front of the fire, watching Harry Potter, and going through our Christmas stockings!
