Let The Good times Roll......FMS326

Oh yes let the good times roll......as long as I am on the ground and not in the roller coaster car!  

And I showed this card to a friend of mine who looked at it and said, "Oh what a cute baby card for someone having twins!"

She thought the roller coaster cars were baby carriages so now all I see when I look at this is runaway baby carriages!  She made me laugh and I just may keep this for a baby card!

Snow Tales....CTS259

I know most of you are thinking spring but the reality of my world is reflected in this card!  

A few nights ago it snowed about eight inches overnight and when the Big Guy went out to shovel he noticed tracks leading to his car and the driver's door was ajar.  First he was mad at himself for not locking his car but then he was really mad because his favorite pair of skis was missing!  Since shoveling is a neighborhood bonding experience he soon learned that there were tracks around cars up and down the street and other neighbors lost that random change left in the cup holder. The change was left in our car - but not the skis!  

Using his amazing powers of deduction the Big Guy decided it was kids being obnoxious and they would probably just dump the skis somewhere.  He put the word out to neighbors to be on the lookout for a pair of skis tossed in their yard.  Well today we had some crazy warm temps and lots of melting and sure enough those skis appeared in a snowbank a block away!  

And once again the Big Guy is right.....how does he do it?

We had lunch in Lake Placid last week - always fun to hop in the bobsled on Main Street!  Back to snow and colder temps today!

The sayings in the Birthday Wit set just make me smile - we could all use a few more smiles these days!  And as cardmakers we can definitely relate to that sentiment!

Something else that makes me smile is this picture of Emma.  To celebrate 100 days of school this past week her teacher asked everyone to dress as if they were 100!  This picture cracks me up - it's all about those earrings!

Cue the Confetti! FMS323

I let that delightful designer paper take center stage on my card today.  And the "cue the confetti"sentiment is perfect for so many occasions.  Old Man Winter has "cued the confetti" around here today.  White confetti continues to pile up outside and there will be another foot of it by supper time.  But no one around here is complaining......there are two polar bears in my cellar smiling and waxing their skis as we speak.......

Celebrating Twenty!

After retiring from 34 years of teaching I looked forward to lazy mornings and unscheduled days.  Then the strangest thing happened.......I wasn't enjoying all that free time as much as I thought I would.  One night the Big Guy put the local newspaper in front of me and said, "There's a part time job available at the library - you need to apply."

So for 12 years now I have been a part time library clerk at our local library and love it.  This week we had a dinner in honor of our librarian who is completing her 20th year.  She's a great gal and I was honored to make the invites.  And yes the story about the Big Guy telling me I needed a job was brought up at dinner!

 The eclipse technique worked well on this card because it added interest and still kept the card flat for mailing.
