Good Morning Friends!

For today's post I have used The Cottage Cutz Hummingbird die. I love birds and this hummingbird die is a beauty!

I have been enjoying Lorie's technique of using white cardstock and then coloring the images. I colored my die cuts with copics and used a white gel pen for highlights. I hope you like it.

Peachy Keen Challenge #33

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!

Time for another fun Peachy Keen Challenge! Angelica provided us with a fun sketch, so I hope you will play along!

For my card, I used Pk-402 and Pk-404.
Here is the sketch.
and here is my card.
The images were colored with copics. I placed clear plastic over the door and windows using glue dots to adhere. I put tombow white glue on the window corners and sprinkled with glitter. I cut the holly from some patterned paper to frame the door. I used my score-pal on the white background paper to make it look like siding. Finished card size is 5x7. Thanks for stopping by!

The Blog Hop is Finally Here!!!

Good Morning Friends!

The Blog Hop is finally here. The Scrapping Cottage and Peachy Keen Stamps have teamed up to create some adorable Cottage Cutz dies, with the super cute and familiar faces of Peachy Keen, drawn by artist and owner Kathy Jakopovich.

If you have arrived here from Lorie's blog, you are in the right place. If not you will want to start at the beginning by clicking here. Each Peachy Keen designer is giving away a $15.00 gift certificate to Peachy Keen. All you need to do is visit every stop along the way and leave a comment with a way to contact you, for a chance to win.

For my card, I used the Cow Peeker. I think these dies are so stinkin' cute!

I used white cardstock to cut the cow from, then colored the nose and hooves with copics.
For the feed sack I used PK-205 .
I used a scrap of a lemon produce bag, to make the sack look sort of like burlap. The gingham circle
is a piece of chipboard, as is the black heart, purchased from Michael's.
Thanks so much for stopping by! The next stop will be Nikki's. These exclusive sets will be available for purchase starting today through July 26th. Complete details may be found here.

Hang In There!

Good morning friends! For today's card I used Frog with branch, and Snail. I tried Lorie's suggestion and cut out my image with white cardstock. I used Copics to color the die cuts. I freehand cut the clouds with scissors and inked the edges in blue. There are so many adorable dies at The Scrapping Cottage! Click here to take a look.
I apologize for the poor quality picture. The card looks much better in real life.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning Peachy Keen Fans! Challenge 32

Hello Everyone! Time for another Peachy Keen Challenge! Here are the requirements for Challenge 32.

Summer Destinations Challenge

"Create a card drawing inspiration from your favorite vacation destination!
Also must use one of the three "B"s: Buttons, Brads or Bling".

One random winner will receive:

PK-790 Boogie Board Max

Memento Ink Pad in Tuxedo Black

Coordinating acrylic block

My card was inspired by It's A Small World, Disneyland. When my 2 oldest boys were little, we lived in Pasadena, CA. When they were about 2 and 4 yrs old, we took them to Disneyland. We had so much fun and didn't want to leave the park. At nightfall it became chilly, and I hadn't planned on being there so long. I had to purchase sweatshirts so we could stay longer. We stayed another few hours. Oh what fun we had!!

I made the people riding in the balloon with a green sizzix die. I think it is itty, bitty doll body. I used Peachy Keen faces to bring them to life. The overalls and the dress were cut with a green sizzix die. Some of the clothes were hand drawn and cut. The children represent the many different cultures around the world.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate your visits and would love to see you join in on the challenge!

I also wanted to apologize for not visiting your blogs as much as I would like. Summer seems to be a bit busy. I hope to visit your blogs and leave some love, real soon.

Good Morning Friends!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend!

For today's post, I am going to show you how I re-purposed the Shih Tzu die cut that I used on Thursday. I like to think outside the box and see other ways I can use a die.
I hope you like what I have made.

While looking at the die cuts I saw a hairstyle and a sweater. I cut the hair of the dog off to create the neckline of the sweater. I used several colors of die cuts to make the little girl. The snout of the die cut had the perfect shape for the little girls hair.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I cut the green snowpants, added some black boots, and added a cute little Panda Bear to the winter sweater to cover the eyes of the dog die cut. I finished with a scarf, a bow in her hair and some white stitching, using a white gel pen. And of course, her cute little face was stamped with a Peachy Keen Simple Sallies face, PK-531.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you re-purpose your die cuts and would like to share them, leave a link in the comments so I can come and see. Enjoy your day! It is in the 90's here. I will be staying inside today.

Hello Everyone! Happy Thursday!

I am thrilled to announce that I have been asked to join The Scrapping Cottage design team. I am looking forward to getting to know the other designers and to share my designs with you. I hope that we can be an inspiration to each other and learn things along the way. Most of all, let's have FUN!! I primarily make cards, but on occasion I like to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. For today's card, I used CottageCutz Shih Tzu Peeker and CottageCutz Daisy Seeds. I had a lot of fun making this card. I love the Shih Tzu die. It is so cute! I used a couple shades of brown cardstock to assemble the puppy. I didn't have a picket fence die or a grass die so I just cut them myself. The picket fence was very easy. I cut strips of white cardstock, 1/2 inch wide. 2 of the strips were 5 1/2 inches long. The pickets are about 2 inches tall. I cut one of the points on a picket to use as a template to cut the rest of them. I cut the strip of grass, free hand. I inked the edges and the centers of the daisies with Dandelion Memento ink. I free hand cut the bone sign as well, because I don't have a bone die, yet. I used a twist tie that I stripped the paper off of, coiled each end, and used it to hang the sign.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you have any questions just leave a comment and I will do my best to answer. Have a great day!
