Memorial Day...

Here in the USA,
we are celebrating Memorial Day...
remembering the people who died
while serving in the armed forces...

and
In honor to all those men and women
serving with dedication their country

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,  in Arlington National cemetery, In Virginia,  USA
photo taken by Karin Markert

When I saw this photograph, I was strike by the beauty of it, I did a small research on the author since the photo that I saw initially was posted on Facebook and did not have any watermarks...
after digging a little bit,  I found HER....

Her name is Karin Markert, a photographer who is married to a soldier who belongs to the unit of the Old Guard (3rd US infantry Regiment).

She took this photo back in September 2012, it went viral in Facebook and Twitter but with no proper rights given to the original author...

Please read her article at her blog on copyrights: "Copyright infringement of photos?" ...
very interesting lesson!

and visit her amazing site of photography as well: KLMARKERT Photography

I want as well to dedicate this post to the people ALIVE serving  right now...
and let's be thankful for them,
who are willing to sacrifice everything for the well being of their countrymen!

Happy Memorial Day

No paper craft for today :)

Diagonal Double Pocket Fold Card for Petaloo Blog Hop

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:

I am very happy to be NOW,
officially part of the Design Team (DT) of Petaloo...

A few weeks ago I acted as a "Guest Designer" ....
with 2 projects: a Fall one and a Halloween one
and now I am part of this group...
I feel so honored to be creating along side a VERY TALENTED  and well known group of ladies in the industry!
and that Petaloo,
liked my work and wanted to include me in their DT group...
what a wonderful opportunity for me to learn, be inspired and hopefully bring my personal contribution as well ...
Thanks Petaloo!

for my 1st "Petaloo's" Official post,
and their "Blog Hop" with "Authentique" papers
I made a "Diagonal Double Pocket Fold Card"

diagonal double pocket fold card front
 pin it:

These card I like to call it a "hybrid", because it is a card and a mini scrapbook book at the same time...with several pockets, wonderful to display photos, tags, small notes and it is small enough to be send in a envelope...

when you open the card, you can have space to place lots of tags or photos...
the right side of this card has 3 pockets
1- a small front one made with a frame and double side tape to tuck inside small tags
2- and you have 2 big diagonal pockets made from folds...for bigger tags or photos...

 and here is the back
