Extravaganza #2

I'm back and refreshed! I've had to spend time with the family over the last 2 days after feeling very guilty for neglecting them recently, hence the delay in posting pcitures of how our event went. The preparations for our 2nd Extravaganza have been full on for weeks and my house now looks like a tip but it was all worthwhile. What a day we had on Saturday! Our 2nd event was much bigger than the last one with 48 ladies attending and we kept them busy all day long. Thank you to everyone who came along, Jen and I have worked really hard to make it a special event and from all the emails we've had, it certainly lived up to everyone's expectations. So would you like to see what we had planned for everyone? Ok, here goes...
Our theme this time was to go bold and bright. We'd decorated each table with brightly coloured buckets, paper flowers and ballons tied to the handles. Each attendee had a little birdhouse with some sweeties in, a name place and bottle of water. (I forgot to take pictures of these so I've shamelessly pinched this piccie of the birdhouse from Jen's blog.)

The tables looked fabulous with the balloons. As everyone arrived they were handed a little goodie pack. Thankfully we had helpers with us. I had Helen, one of my downline. And Jen had Maria. Thank you ladies for all you hard work, we really do appreciate it.

And then there were the projects - two in the morning and one in the afternoon.

These little Sweet Treat Stationery Holders were something I designed especially for the event. It holds a 3x3 post it note pad and paperclips in the treat cup, although as an alternative it could hold choccies. The second project was this beautiful box and mini card using the Very Vintage Wheel and Vintage Vogue - gorgeous!

And finally the afternoon project - a DVD case covered with paper from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack and 3 cards made using 'My Sweet Pea' stamp set. And because we like to spoil our ladies, they ALL had a 'My Sweet Pea' set to take home with them!

Because of the amount of ladies we had there were 2 colourways - Rose Red and Pretty in Pink or Taken with Teal and Pumpkin Pie. This project was given in a lovely decorated bag which again I didn't have chance to photograph - darn & drat.

For lunch there was a fantastic buffet made by Shirley and Sue (our dear mums) and what an amazing job they did. I didn't get chance to take a photo of the scrummy food either, but here's a piccie of them in the kitchen preparing the feast. And of course there were cakes baked by my MIL - our crafting events wouldn't be the same without them! We had prize patrol throughout the day - a firm favourite with everyone. And to finish a raffle.Sorry it's such a long post, and I had so many more photo's to show you too. But to finish I would like to add yet another thanks to everyone who came along and for all the praise and feedback we've received. To know you all appreciate it drives us on to planning the next one - oh gosh, did I just say that??

I hope you enjoyed a glimpse of our Event and thanks for stopping by!

All a Flutter

I was taking some photos today and remembered to take one of a box frame I made a few weeks back. Inspired by the sample using All a Flutter in the Mini Catalogue and also a beautiful project that Ilina Crouse made I knew exactly what I was going to do, especially as I've had the box frame sitting around for simply ages. The frame itself was a plain light wood colour and to make it more in keeping with what was going on the inside I played around with some of the re-inkers. Basically I put some Close to Cocoa in a dish and added water and simply painted it onto the frame. It dries real quick and although not quite the colour I was looking for, it still looks good. The butterflies were stamped onto Confetti White and coloured with an aqua painter. The En Francais stamp was also stamped onto Confetti White although the bottom layer was Very Vanilla. This was stamped with the words from Vintage Vogue using Soft Suede. The layer under that was Kraft and wheeled with Very Vintage in Versamark. I also used a sponge to distress the edges using Soft Suede.
Right, that's it from me. Got a ton of stuff to do.
Catch ya soon!

1 week to go...

Yes it's only 1 week now till 'Extravanza #2' and I'm getting rather excited I have to say. Jen and I have been adding the finishing touches so it'll be non stop for the next week completing kits and making sure everything will be in place for the doors opening at 10am next Saturday. Our first Event back in January (which you can read about here) was absolutely fantastic and the feedback we received after was overwhelming! So 4 months later and the pressure has been on to organise another event - we're keeping everything crossed it will live up to expectations. This event is Fully Booked with everyone who came to the last one coming again AND we've doubled the amount of attendees...yikes!! Because of all the preparations I've not had chance to create anything, well not that I can show you anyway, so I apologise for the lack of posts. I had a bit of a respite today though as I went to my local crop and did some more scrapbooking. I purchased a kit and we had to create a LO using only the products provided, nothing else. Blimey was it a challenge...the only extras we could use were stamps, punches and the cricut to cut out a title. Now I'm not the fastest scrapbooker in the world but as a friend once told me, it's not a race so I plodded along and came up with this. It wasn't going to be a pink page (the papers were double-sided) but it worked better with the black and white photo I had. It's my Jakey of course...doesn't he look an angel?? If only you knew the truth! lolThis will be for my MIL, she adores him. It's a trade for the home baked cakes she's making for the Extravaganza next week...yum! I hope to take lots of photos of the event so please pop back to see how it went. Meanwhile have a fantastic weekend (it's hot, hot, hot! here on the south coast) and see ya soon!

Hello Again

Very quick post today, lots to do for the Stampin'Up! Extravaganza #2 in a fortnight which is coming round really fast now. A few easel cards which I made at the crop yesterday with Hello Again and using two of the NEW colours, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo along with Old Olive and Summer Sun. Love these little cards, so cute and different . And here's the LO of my little monster in his makeshift speedway outfit. I so enjoyed scrapbooking yesterday and once the Extravaganza is out the way I'm going to get back into it. No excuses now.My blog will probably be a bit quiet for the next week at least because of the Extravangza, but come back soon and I'll definately post photos of the event which is on the 29th May.
Have a good week!

Melon Razzle

Both Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry on this card today with a touch of Summer Sun and good old Old Olive.

Not sure where I was going with this design, I came to a holt on where to put the greeting (too much chatting while I was making it at the crop the other night) and ended up placing it in the middle. Still, it shows the new colours beautifully. The stamp set is Baroque Motifs with Sincere Salutations.

My NEW COLOUR BUNDLE is selling very well. For a more affordable way of purchasing these colours MELON MAMBO, RICH RAZZLEBERRY AND SOFT SUEDE, see my post here. Now I do try to keep my blog for crafting but I thought I'd share this funny picture of my son Jake. He's absolutely mad on Speedway and has recently been riding his bike in the garden pretending to be a Speedway rider. He came home from school last week, rushed up stairs to get changed and told me I wasn't allowed to come up to see him. When he came down, well....I couldn't stop laughing. This is what he was wearing..... ...his wetsuit and a pair of snorkelling goggles! I can asure you he has now been kitted out with the correct atire, and looks more the part. I'm going to my local crop tomorrow so you know what I'll be scrapping...

Fresh Cuts Class

I've gone purple all of a sudden.... Now I'm not a 'purple' person at all. It's one of those colours I can take or leave but recently I can't seem to get enough of it. Pale Plum imparticular, I've never used it before but it's lovely teamed with the right colours. What started me off was the NEW Cottage Wall DSP that I used here. I'm now really disappointed it's one of the retiring colours. :( Anyway, this hinged box, designed by Monica, is an up coming class I'll be teaching using the Fresh Cuts stamp set and notelets. The colours are Pale Plum, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant. The perfect gift! Keep an eye out for class dates coming soon on my Events page or email me at jodumbleton@aol.co.uk for more details.

And now for Soft Suede

I'm on a roll again with Vintage Vogue (I know, I will use something different soon) and another Card Holder using Soft Suede with Pale Plum and Barely Banana. I wanted to give a soft dreamy feel to these cards so I've sponged the edges of the whisper white with Barely Banana. Love how this has turned out and makes a change from my usual crisp, clean cut style. I'll be giving that ago again. For a sample of the NEW colours including SOFT SUEDE see my offer for the 'NEW COLOUR BUNDLE' here.

Rich Razzleberry is in the house!

My order of the NEW products arrived on Thurs and I've been itching to play, but with one thing and another it didn't happen until today. I was pretty excited when the box arrived, I know..how sad is that, and I wasn't disappointed when I opened the box. All three of the NEW colours are gorgeous and the Cottage Wall DSP, well what can I say....it's lush! So I've made one of my desktop card holders (the template and tutorial can be found here) and teamed it with my favourite stamp set - Vintage Vogue.

Because I like to embellish my cards quite heavily I've made 3 cards to go inside the cardholder, it could easily fit 4 maybe 5 if they were flatter.I'm also loving the Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon....gorgeous!

I hope to get a bit more crafting time soon to use Melon Mambo and Soft Suede, again stunning colours but I have to say Rich Razzleberry is definately my favourite.

If you're loving these 3 NEW colours, RICH RAZZLEBERRY, MELON MAMBO AND SOFT SUEDE and you'd like a more affordable way of purchasing them, then see this post here for my NEW COLOUR BUNDLE.

Hostess Gift using Greenhouse Garden

Last month I did a workshop for Irene and demonstrated the Greenhouse Garden set. It's one of those sets that has so much going for it and I love showing the different techniques that can be applied. Anyway, as a Hostess gift I made this box with some matching cards then finished the box off with one of those quick and simple carnations. You can't quite see on this but the carnation sparkles with the shimmer paint mist.

The colour combo is Not quite Navy, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla.

A quick correction on my previous post - the Designer Paper is called 'Cottage Wall' not 'Cottage Garden' as I was rambling on about. I'm getting as bad as my mother! lol Here's a better pic of these gorgeous papers.

Have a good one!

May Offer with 11 NEW Products

How about these for starters...with the recent announcement of the Colour Renovation, SU! have given us 3 of the brand NEW colours for the May Offer! You can purchase ALL of these 11 new products now, needless to say I've placed my order already...ahem! The spotty grosgrain ribbon looks fabulous, can't beat a bit of polka dots, and there's 13metres on a roll. Loving the NEW Cottage Garden DSP too, how lush will that be with Vintage Vogue..mmmmm. I'm sure this little lot arriving on my doorstep will bring Mr Mojo back home...lol Oh and thank you for all the lovely comments yesterday re. my cancelled trip away and my little rant. It was the end of a very frustrating few weeks and my blood pressure is back to normal now, thanks for letting me vent. Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend!
