A Wintery Birthday

Hi all,

I am still playing with some of the awesome winter and holiday images that Kristy has put out at Some Odd Girl!  I saw a few challenges I could get in on, so I threw a little somethin' together!

Firstly, I am entering the Allsorts challenge #83: Anything Goes.

Next, I am playing along with the Creative Card Crew challenge: Birthdays.

And finally, I used the Card Patterns Sketch #96...here:

And I had to use my new Snowy Mae digi, along with the fun Happy Birthday sentiment! Did you know Kristy sells sentiments too?  I especially like this one because there is an outline, so you can colour it!

Here is my card:
The base is Kraft CS, followed by a Basic Black piece, and a Whisper White mat.  On top of that, I added a plaid piece of Manchester DSP from SU, and I wrapped some Soft Suede polka dot ribbon around that layer, and added a staple to each side.

I cut my circles out of Whisper White and Soft Suede CS using my classic and scallop circle Nesties.  I sponged the white circle with some Wheat Dew Drop ink.  I punched some arrows out of white and black CS and added them for some fun interest.

I printed Mae and the sentiment off onto PTI White CS and coloured them with Copics.  I cut Mae out, and attached her with Dimensionals, and I put the sentiment panel in her hand - it looks like she is showcasing it!

Also, don't forget that the SOG blog ALWAYS has a challenge running, and every 2 weeks Kristy gives away SOG points, and free digis!
Also, there is a My Tiny Contest running until January 16 - you won't want to miss it!!!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

A New and Odd Release is coming...

Hi all,

Well, I have a cute and fun gift tag to show you today - and it is for the winter holiday season!  Now, we are still 2 months away from Christmas, but us crafters usually get a head start!
I am using an image that will be released at Some Odd Girl on November 9: Pressie Tobie!  Just WAIT until you see all the holiday/winter images that Kristy has dreamt up for us all - you will just die!

I am playing along with a few challenges today as well:

- Allsorts Challenge 75: Spots and Stripes (I have spotted DSP, and striped ribbon)
- Craft Your Passion Challenge 29: Glitter/sparkles
- Fussy and Fancy Challenge 22: Winter Wonderland

This gift tag is made using a piece of Close To Cocoa CS with 2 of the corners cut at a diagonal.  I added a 1/2" Basic Black circle at the top, with a 1/4" circle punched out of the middle.  It looks like a re-inforcer!
All of the DSP I used is from the retired SU pack called Frosty Days.  On top of the base, I added a green piece of DSP with a black mat.  I also added a Whisper White strip, punched with my Martha Stewart Icicles edge punch, and wrapped some matching miscellaneous ribbon around that.  Lastly, I added a piece of polka-dotted DSP to the bottom.

I printed Tobie onto PTI White CS, coloured him with Copics, and cut him out.  I also added some glitter to the ribbon on the present for some sparkle.  And Tobie's green eyes are done with an Atyou Spica glitter pen.

Did you know that voting is open HERE for the name of our poor Monkee?  Make sure you help us decide what he will be called!

Also, you only have a few days left to get your SOG FREEBIE before the month is up and a new freebie comes to us.  Make sure you download it if you haven't - it's perfect for the month of October.

Also, we have a challenge happening on the SOG blog - a colour challenge to fit the season perfectly!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

School Tia

Hi all,

I made a fun card today using one of the newest Tiny releases from Some Odd Girl!  This little school girl is sooo cute!  I also played along with these 3 challenges:

- The ABC Challenge: D is for Distressing
- Allsorts Challenge 71: Plain and Simple
- Card Patterns Sketch 83

Here is my card:
I used mainly Whisper White CS, and the larger oval is Kraft CS - ovals were cut using Nestabilities, of course.  For the strip down the middle, I added an SU border punch on either side, and distressed the middle piece.  The Kraft oval was also distressed.
The bow was made using some white satin ribbon and my Bow Easy, and I attached it with a Mini Glue Dot.

I printed Tia out onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, cut her out, and mounted her on with Dimensionals.

Don't forget about the monochromatic challenge running over on the SOG blog - you still have time to play along!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Another Tiny Tia

Hi all,

I am entering a few challenges, and I am using another Tiny Tia image from Some Odd Girl!  Just wait until September 21, when Kristy unleashes the amazing release she has been cooking up!

I am entering the Allsorts challenge this week (park theme), as well as the Crafty Catz challenge (orange, blue and brown), and the Sketch Saturday challenge.  Here is the sketch:

So, here it is:
I have a white card base, and my brown CS is Soft Suede, punched with a scallop edge punch.  Next, is a layer of Haiku DSP (orange), matted with Basic Black, and punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch.  Across that there is a blue strip of Petals & Paisleys DSP, and a piece of Soft Suede polka dot ribbon.  The sentiment is an SU rub-on.

I printed Tia off onto Neenah Solar White CS and coloured her with Copics.  I used the "out of the box" technique with my square Nesties to cut out her panel.  I matted that with a Basic Black square Nesty, and I added my embellishment to the bottom corner, instead of the top.  It is a flower from a Martha Stewart package that I got at Michael's.

Don't forget to head over to Some Odd Girl for your digi needs, and get the monthly freebie! Also, head on over to the SOG blog to see what challenge is running, and be sure to enter your creation!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Challenges entered:
- Allsorts Challenge #67 - Park Inspiration
- Crafty Catz Challenge #47 - Orange, blue and brown
- Sketch Saturday #118

Surf's Up

Hi all,

I decided to throw in for a few challenges this week...I used one of the past freebies from Some Odd Girl - Hang 10 Kody!

Allsorts Challenge #65: Paper Piercing
Craft Your Passion #19: Anything Goes
Lili of the Valley #60: Four Seasons (Summer!)
OLLCB #60: Spots and Dots
Simon Says: Summer with Blue

My card base is Whisper White, and I added some bursts of paper piercing to each corner.  The rectangle panel is a Basic Black mat, with So Saffron (embossed with the Shell Collage folder) and Brocade Blue CS (embossed with the Swiss Dots folder).  I draped some black grosgrain ribbon around the seam of that layer.

Kody is printed onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured with Copics, and cut out with Label 4 Nesties.  I added some black pearls to the left side as well.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Some Odd Girl: Sleepy Mae

Hi All,

Today, I am participating in FOUR challenges with my card! I can't believe it!  I decided to use one of the new releases from Some Odd Girl: Sleepy Mae.  I couldn't resist her - she is soooo cute!

The first challenge is a sketch from the Allsorts Challenge blog:
I also played along with the AiFactory Challenge blog to implement some distressing!  On my card, I distressed the main panel, as well as the card base, and I also covered the main panel in distress ink.

Next, I played along with the Drunken Stampers Challenge blog: to use some sparkle, and to colour!  Well, since my favourite thing to do is to colour, I had no problem colouring Mae in with my Copic markers, and my bling is the Martha Stewart glitter and I covered Mae's pants in Sky Blue Shimmerz.

Lastly, I joined in with the Pile It On Challenge blog: to use stickers.  The large heart on my main panel is actually one of those Sticky Cutz stickers (I covered it in glitter).

My card base is Whisper White (distressed with a Distress Tool), followed by a layer of Night of Navy and Close to Cocoa.  The navy piece was punched with an SU edge punch as well.  I cut a bunch of squares out of Whisper White CS with my 1 3/4" Square punch, and embossed them with my Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I wrapped some White Organdy ribbon around that whole base layer.

For the main panel, I distressed some Whisper White CS using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Weathered Wood, and matted it with a Night of Navy piece.  Both of those were distressed with my distress tool from SU.  I took the Sticky Cuts sticker from SU, and stuck it to the panel, and covered it with some Martha Stewart glitter.

I printed Mae onto Neenah Solar White CS, coloured her with Copics, and cut her out with a thin white border around.  I painted her pj pants with Sky Blue Shimmerz, and covered the heart on her shirt with the same MS glitter.

Challenges:
- AiFactory #40: Distress It
- Allsorts #57: Sketch
- Drunken Stampers #21: Colouring and bling
- Pile It On #24: Stickers

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by!

Don't forget - we have a new release over at Some Odd Girl every 2 weeks for the next little while.  The next one is coming up on June 29!  Also, be sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl Challenge blog and enter your own creation in the current challenge to have a chance at winning some great prizes!
