Beautiful Backgrounds
Here's a cool technique for creating a fabulously artistic background for your next scrapbook or art journal page.
Here are two samples I did using this technique - each has the exact same layout and elements, but I changed the Designer Series Paper background (and re-colored some of the embellishments and stamps to match.)

Fan Fair Designer Photobook Template: I cannot extol the virtues of this kit enough. There are tons of embellishments from journaling cards to beautiful stitching, borders, etc. Plus you get a beautiful pre-made scrapbook template, gorgeous designer series paper, and a lovely stamp brush set.
- Make a first layer of Designer Series Paper
- Make a second layer of your favorite photograph
- Change the opacity of the photograph until you achieve the desired effect.

September School Fun
Another challenging color challenge from Nicole Watt & Kris Kilcoyne at the IBN Digi-Challenge - the colors are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Garden Green.
I started my page with some photos of my son's school field trip to collect leaves for their leaf collections. The children were dressed in some beautiful bright pink that I thought would pick these challenge colors up nicely. The leaves on the trees were still very green (isn't it amazing the color difference in just a few weeks!)

Leaf Hunt!
I used the MyDigitalStudio.Net challenge this week to showcase my love of Fall. It is my favorite season of the year. My son's school field trip to gather leaves for their leaf collections was the perfect subject for this great layout.
Tips & Tricks:
Layers: I used the square punch, resizing it and rotating each layer slightly for the stacked layered look. There were so many gorgeous papers - this is a fun way to work a bunch them in without the busyness overwhelming what should be your main focus: the photos.
Text to Shape: Using the new "Freeform" option in your design center you can attach text to shapes and lines to frame your page. See my video here.
Crop Shape: Use this cool feature to crop a stamp to the perfectly sized image of your punch - like I did with the acorn punch in this photo. The punch is from the "Wonderfall" kit and the stamp is from "Perfectly Preserved."

Spooky!
I saw these adorable ghosts on a blog "One Lucky Day" and had to make them for myself! They were easy to make - the only time consuming part is waiting for the fabric stiffener (or liquid starch) to dry. Check out this wonderful blog by clicking on the link above for instructions on making your own ghost!

Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set
- To make the "Spooky" banner, I used First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper and the "Morning Post Alphabet" stamp set.
- I trimmed out each of the letters after stamping the with black ink on River Rock Card Stock.
- I punched small holes at the corners of each flag and laced it through with Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon
- To make the "Trick or Treat" sign, I cut vellum paper with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die
- I stamped the gate/raven image from the "Toxic Treats" stamp set using my Stampamajig to line it up properly.
- The smaller label is also cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and stamped with the "Trick or Treat" sentiment from "Toxic Treats."
