He came out white as a ghost which was concerning but he did pink up after some skin to skin.
Meeting Dad
Not liking the bath
It all started the 22nd of November. The family went out to meet Spencer's cousin, Matt, and his family for lunch. I had been contracting a little in the morning but nothing out of the usual. We had a lovely lunch than went to a park so the kids could play and the adults could visit a little but more. As I was talking to Janie, I realized that the contractions were coming stronger but I could still talk though them.
We left the park and headed home. Matt came with us because he and Spencer had a guys night planned. They wanted to go to an early movie but Spencer wasn't sure if he should leave me when I was contracting. I told him to go and if they get closer and stronger, I would text him to come home. I just laid on the couch timing them, but they didn't change during the movie. I laid there for another hour and a half and finally they started to get stronger, so I told Spencer we needed to leave for the hospital. We were lucky enough to have Matt there to watch our kids for us, he was planning on sleeping over anyways.
We got to the hospital and I was doing okay (meaning not crying) until the moment I laid in the bed. They checked me and I was 4cm fully effaced with a bulge bag. They admitted me and I was ready for my epidural. I was losing it with all the pain I was in. They pumped in the fluids as fast as they could, they checked me again and I was an 8 with a very bulge bag. I was praying the it would keep in tacked, because I go very very fast once my bag brakes. The only thing I remember before the drugs was saying to Spencer that I was scared that I was going to deliver this baby without the drugs. Well finally the anesthesiologist came in and gave me the drugs. Dr. Broberg came in and stayed in the room until I was ready to push. It took a little while for Westen to come out because he was looking up instead of down. He finally came out at 12:10am on Thanksgiving Day. What a great blessing to be thankful for. He was 7lb 9oz, 21in long. He came out really white which concerned my nurse so she called the NICU and they checked him out but everything was fine. I did some skin to skin and he pinked right up.
When Clay and Ansley pay attention to him they are very sweet to him. He has been a champ breast feeding and sleeping. He does have some tummy aches, but that is about it.
We love our new addition in our home and are happy he is healthy and well.
