Potterific

Here is some good news to brighten your day. A Harry Potter theme park is going to be created! It will open in Florida, in 2009. How cool is that?

P.S. I am going to get a massage today. I love my job...if only the chiropractor hadn't quit (actually she skipped out on her lease, and we are going to sue her!) because I could definately use a good back popping.

"Water, it's a very wonderful thing..."

...except when you find out that it is leaking onto the floor. Clark and I just found out that our hot water heater is leaking, and the plumber man that came to look at it says we need to get a new one, which costs mucho buckos. I have to go and see if I can find out if this water heater has a warrenty on it. Lets hope that it does.

Humor

Those of you who have been pregnant, or close to someone who has been, might find this a little humorous.

Pikes Peak

Clark's sister Janet, and her hubby Steve, came into town to visit us for the long weekend. On Saturday we decided to drive down to Colorado Springs and see Pikes Peak. While driving through the springs, I decided that Clark and I are going to live there. He is just going to have to figure how to commute to Denver from there. A 1-1.5 hour commute, that's not asking too much is it, in order to live in such a pretty city? Here are some pics from the peak. Geniuses that we are, we didn't think before we left home about the fact the it would probably be cold up on top of a mountain (and it was! there was tons of snow up there still!) and so you will see that we were all wearing summer clothes. Oh well. It's all just part of the experience, right? Enjoy the pics. Today we are going to go to a Rockies game, it should be lots of fun!

Me, Clark, Steve, and Janet. That is Pikes Peak in the background.

We made it!

Just kind of a cool picture...

Now we know where he has been hiding this whole time. The long search is over!

Castlewood Canyon

It's been a really fun weekend. My old roommate Jasmine, and her hubby and their son, came to Denver for a quick visit. We decided to go spend Saturday at a state park near by called Castlewood Canyon. We brought up our little portable grill and made burgers and brats, and then we walked around on some of the easier trails. It was so nice to be able to spend so much time outdoors. I just love summertime. The mountains here are about a two hour drive away, so it was nice to find out that there is a canyon just 40 some-odd minutes from our house. Castlewood Canyon is famous for a dam that broke there in 1933, and sent billions of gallons of water towards Denver. We tried to hike to the dam, but it was a lot further than we thought, so we never got there. Clark and I will have to go see it another time. But we did go see this really cool house that was made purely out of concrete.

Check out how low the door is. It is a good thing I am so short. I had about 3 inches of clearance.

There were some wild lilac bushes growing just behind the house, and they smelled sooo good.

Raindrops on roses

Life is pretty good, here in the mile high state. We had a really good weekend. We planted some shrubs in our backyard (I am going to wait to post pics until we get the pea gravel out there. Right now it is just a bunch of dirt). And we cut and painted some chair rail for the baby room. then we went out to eat at olive garden. Not too shabby.
Clark is gone traveling again. Now he is in L.A. for training. Thankfully, this should be his last trip until mid-August.

THE ARCH

This is the little pod/elevator thingy that takes you up to the top. It is tiny. The door is only 4 feet tall, and it fits 5 people inside (with knees banging together, and heads hitting the ceiling).

THE CITY MUSEUM

This place wasn't as cool as we thought it would be. It is basically this a huge playground of sorts. I think we would have had more fun if we all weren't so tired. But we did get lots of fun pictures!

Home again

I got back to Denver late last night. We had so much fun in St. Louis! We went to the temple, the arch (or loop, as Dad calls it), this museum place, and the zoo. A very busy and very fun weekend. We also got to spend a bunch of time with Troy, who just happend to be driving to St. Louis to hang out with some friends for the next few weeks. Anyways, I don't have much time because I need to eat some lunch and then head out to work, but I just thought I would post a few of the pictures Clark and I took at the temple. I will post the other pictures of our trip later.

I am quite proud of these 2 pics of me and Clark, as there was no one around to take our pictures. I had to set the camera on timer, and used a bench, my wallet and my cell phone to prop up the camera and take the pictures.

Doctor appointment

Well, I just got back from my appointment with the high-risk OB/GYN. He did an ultrasound to check out the baby's kidneys. The good news is that the baby does not have a cyst. The bad news is that he has something else. The kidneys drain to the bladder through little tubes called the ureter (the yellow tubes in the pic). Well, there is a blockage in the ureter coming from the left kidney, so the baby's kidney is not properly draining to the bladder. Apparently a normal kidney size for a 28 week old fetus is 4 mm, well my baby's left kidney is 14 mm. Dr. Galan (the doc I saw today) doesn't think that this will be a huge problem. As of right now, we don't need to do anything to treat the issue, and we won't need to deliver the baby early. He said that if the baby is going to have any problems, then this is the best one to have. He also referred me to a pediatric urologist, who I will see on May 21. Most likely, this doctor will just prescribe an antibiotic that the baby will begin to take as soon as he is born. The baby needs the medicine because there is a risk of infection, what with all the extra fluid and urine collecting in the kidney.
Now after all that heavy stuff, how about some fun information? The baby now weighs approximately 3 pounds, so he is actually measuring about a week ahead of schedule. I might just get my wish, and deliver the baby a week or two early. Also, he has hair! The ultrasound technician pointed out some fuzz growing on top of his head. Ultrasounds are the coolest.

I'm back

Well, it was a busy weekend, but I had lots of fun in Utah. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in quite a long time. And I got lots of cute things for the little baby!
