Surgery & Snow Cave

In case you haven't heard, I am going to have surgery on Friday - the surgery is called a lap nissen. It will hopefully relieve my reflux and take care of my hiatal hernia. I will spend 1 or 2 nights in the hospital, but I am very hopeful to be well enough for traveling on the 26th.
Since it snowed today in St. George David and Margie decided to ensure that we have a white Christmas. Around 10:30 tonight the dogs started barking at the front door and when Scott went to check he found that we were snowed in. Someone had turned our home (at least the front doorway) into an ice cave in hopes that the snow would still be here for us at Christmas time. David and Margie and their friends Seth and Leslie drove around to all the churches' and schools' snow covered lawns and gathered as much snow as they could. Check out the results;

It's all good - after they piled all the snow in front of the door they came inside and David, Seth, & Scott gave me a blessing in preparation for tomorrows surgery - wish me luck!

Snow in St. George!

They closed all the schools in Washington county today because of snow! My kids loved every minute of having snow in their own yard again. Here is Chelsi & Jordan making snow angels.

November 2008 Slideshow

We went to the Jubilee of Trees last weekend and Jordan, Chelsi and Addison all got their faces painted.

All "My Boys" were just as faithful to support Chelsi in cheering as they were supporting each other playing football. Addison was at all of Chelsi games that she cheered at because Margie was Chelsi's cheer coach.

Saturday after Thanksgiving we decided to visit Hogle Zoo before heading home. It was the first time I remembered to pull my camera out for the whole Thanksgiving vacation. Hope the pictures make you smile - they do me :)

I had to add the snowflakes because we didn't see any while we were in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving. We stayed at Wolfcreek and brought all of our snow gear in hopes to play in the snow like years past - no such luck!

Grandma Sweet's Visit - explanation for pictures

Grandma Sweet came to visit us last weekend and she took some interesting pictures. While she was here she sewed some new curtains for my living room and kitchen. The kids did their Primary program on Sunday and Grandma got to see it. Grandma was wrapped up in a blanket on the couch and the dogs thought they needed to cuddle with her.

Sorry Such a Slacker :)

Sorry I haven't blogged in such a long time - life gets very busy with 5 kids in 3 different schools, 3 football players, a cheerleader, and a 5 year-old. Here are some pics to try and get you all caught up.

Newest Members of the Slack Family

On August 14th Brad, Jordan, ChelsiLyn, & Cory were adopted by Scott. The first picture is all of us, after the adoption took place, in the courtroom including the judge and our attorney. The second picture is of the four newest members of the Slack Family :)

Finally true Slack's

Cory's Sunburn

Apparently if you sunburn your back and then play outside in the sun and water a few days later, then you can get little water bubbles all over your back. I have never seen this before. After the initial pictures I washed the bubbles off, and it looks just like it would if his skin had just peeled. It was disgusting and intriguing at the same time. Of course with his shirt off he has to pose for his superhero shot.

New Camera

Scott just bought me a new camera so we had to try it out.
The pictures at the end of this slide show are from our most recent camping trip.
I am happy to report that Scott slept comfortably in a tent and we made it home without incident :)
