Once Upon a Pinwheel Quilt...(LMH D7)
Once upon a time, The Double-Pinwheel Quilt was completed, and the quilter decided to take some pictures to share with her crafting friends. Suddenly, someone crawled in to lay claim to the quilt! The quilter tried to lure the squatter off the quilt by putting books off the quilt. The Crawler hustled over to the books and dragged them backwards onto the quilt and settled in to look at them...
I don't quite know what attracts Ziona to this quilt, but her eyes light up at it and she gets this little smile on her face. I finally gave in and let her read on the quilt; I still have to wash it to give it that crinklely look. I then plan to post it on our Etsy shop. I am very glad this quilt is done! I will have more pictures on Friday for the finishes (Go OctoberQuest!). Thank you for visiting!

Leafs Me [Sew] Happy...Day 5
Welcome to the 5th day on the Leafs Me Happy Blog Hop, and my stop on the train! Once again I had more ideas than time on hand, but I did my best to focus and get something accomplished!
Insanity Defense
Michelle May & the Bunnies
Sparrow In FLight (ME!)
Quilted Delights
Quilting With a Marmalade Cat
Traveling Quilter
A Stitch in Time
Cherry Blossoms
Tea Time Creations
Moose Stash Quilting
Stitchin By the Lake
Every Color Leaf Tree...
I just love how this Leafy tree block turned out! If you cannot tell I am really into rainbows these days. Although I made the leaves from the remains from THIS past project. The trunk base came from Shrinking down the Family Tree Pattern by Lilac Lane, cutting it down to 2 branches. I plan on making the wall hanging before the end of the year, so I was excited to atleast try out the trunk (super easy). I plan to make this block into a pillow cover; I am half-way tempted to change my plan for Ziona's bedroom from Yellow, white, gray & Black to Rainbows! I really loved the Dotty star I made for the Dots On Dots Blog Hop which enticed me to making the leaves rainbowy for this block.
Leaves...On the Forest Floor
It all started out with my making leafy blocks for this hop from my precious stash of Sandy Gervais fabrics. From those blocks I decided to make a quilt for a fundraiser for the preschool at my church. I found a pattern online that actually used the big leaf blocks that I had already made-up called Forest Floor. I had a couple block left to show you, but they somehow got misplaced so I am sharing the full quilt to show you.
I did a search last night for some other patterns to direct fall enthusiasts towards. A Blog Came up with a collection which actually includes a couple of the patterns I used myself! You can peruse that post HERE.
I have delayed my Finishes post until tomorrow, so come back to see all that I have completed this week!

The Music Man and his Little Lady (LMH D3)
Now I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but my husband is a musician. He has played the violin since he was a small child; he then picked the guitar up in High school and a little piano in College. He has been pretty busy between Full-time work, two seminaries (6 credit hours at each!), study groups, choir (He sings too), and serving at our church. Needless to say, he doesn't have a lot time to sit down & relax by playing music.
Last night he was playing though and our little girl stared as if transfixed on her daddy. She speedily crawled across the living room carpet to investigate. At one point Ziona ended up in the guitar case petting the lining and playing with the metal fastenings, but her favorite part was strumming the strings on her Daddy's Guitar! She didn't do too bad, certainly better than me! She usually loves the Cello from watching videos of the Piano Guys on Youtube, but she may branch out in her love for music. Have you heard their music or seen their fantastic videos? You can find their Youtube Channel HERE. I will share one, and you will see just how beautiful their music is!

Oops I Did It Again! (LMH D2)
For the last couple of weeks I have bemoaned my issues with the stitching on my Double Pinwheel Quilt. I have slowly and faithfully rips out each and every offending stitch. A picture was not shared on that occasion, but let me make up for that fact by showing you the currently situation I am bemoaning...
It was my attempt at Leah Day's Traveling Paisley. I watched the video very carefully, practiced the stitch and yet this is how it turned out! The back does not look too bad, but the front is horrible and does not line up to the other side. To clarify I stitched with the bottom as my "top" so I wouldn't get distracted by the blocks. I will have to rip the stitches out and work on practicing a little bit more before I tackle this one.
