okay, this incident happened quite a while ago but i have decided to blog about it only today.

about 1 and a half months ago, i was experiencing some really irritating case of peeling skin around my lips. and so, i went to a clinic (supposedly quite reputable, i had thought) and had this indian lady doctor, who was temporarily placed there, attending to me. for simplicity's sake, lets just call her 'Jelly Woman' (JW). you will find out the reason why this was the name Windy and i gave her soon enough.

okay, heres the scenario:

ME: i have some peeling around here *pointing to the skin around my lips* and i have no idea why.

JW: MUST BE THE PRODUCTS YOU USEEEE!!!! (wow! thanks for putting the blame on me now that i am coming to you for help!that made me feel so good!)

ME: ermm i dont think so cos' i have been using the same skincare products ever since december last year.

JW: CANNOT BE! or did you do some scrub or facial?

ME: nope.

JW: not even once? *gazing into my eyes DOUBTFULLY*

ME: erm yes i did once.

*JW looking extremely pleased with herself, totally with the i-so-knew-it expression*

ME: but that was one year ago.

JW: *wide-eyed* what about last month or so?

ME: no i didnt.

JW: CANNOT BE!!! then must be your own products!!!

ME: ermm.. i am not so sure about that coz i dont think it would take 9 months for the products to react?

JW: what products are you using?

ME: its from a skin doctor.

JW: is it because you rub your skin with a lot of strength when cleansing??

ME: no. i wont do that. it will cause wrinkles, i know.

JW: CANNOT BE!!! okay imagine your face is like jelly. how will you treat it?

ME: (nearly said 'i will put it in a damn fridge'. but before i could, she goes....)

JW: you must be very gentle to it! you must treat it like JELLY!!! (now you know whyyyy shes JELLY WOMAN, dont you?)

JW: what did the doctor give you?

ME: a cleanser, toner, AHA solution and some skin renewal cream. but i have stopped using the AHA long ago.

JW: what about the cream?

ME: from what i know, it contains adaphalene.

JW: YES!!! thats the ONEEE!!! it is just like retin-A or AHA. it causes peeling!
*looking extremely pleased with herself once again*

ME: ya but i stopped using it a few days ago already....

JW: okay, i tell you what. you STOP EVERYTHING now. the cleanser, toner, cosmetics and adocrine or whatever. (apparently she knew what was adaphalene but was not able to remember the name very well)

ME: EVERYTHING??

JW: yes! then just use something like the cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer. NOTHING ELSE. cetaphil is extremely good and NOBODY (is that right? go google. i dont believe) has any complaints about it.

ME: ermm okayy... but what about sunblock?

JW: *looked extremely shocked* dont use a sunblock!! you need the sun! if not you will get soft bones!! (shes definitely the first doctor who advised me NOT to use a sunblock.. yeah i wont get soft bones if i stop using the sunblock.. and i may get skin cancer too)

ME: ermm okay. *totally doubting her* (should have checked to see if shes really a doctor)

JW: so besides this advice i cant give you anything to ease it.

(so i totally wasted my time away listen to her crap???)

JW: oh! i can give you some pills which can help with the peeling and itching.

ME: but my skin is not itching.

JW: IT'S NOT????????

ME: err no?

JW: CANNOT BEEEEE!!! (now doubting my sensory neurones huh?)

ME: *eyebrows raised*

JW: okay, anyway this helps with the peeling.

and you know, doctors always keep these cards that contain information about the patients. those cards where they write what they had prescribed to the patients? on my card, she wanted to show where my peeling was and she drew something similar to the following:

HELLOOOOO!!! i dont have a freaking beard or whatever okay! neither am i a joint-breed of a cactus and rambutan!! i definitely didnt look like that!!!!

so i thanked her and left the consultation room. when i collected the pills from the nurse, guess what? on the plastic cover with my name on it, it was written there as 'FOR COLD / FLU'.

i was totally like 'WHAT??!!!!' but i just left anyway. didnt want to see that JW again. and of course, i didnt take the medicine at all. i mean, its for FLU!! I DIDNT HAVE A FREAKING BLOCKED NOSE!!!!

but anyway i kept the tablets in my bag in case i need some flu tablets next time.

today, i took out those tablets because i desperately needed something for my flu. but before i popped the pill into my mouth, i had decided to google the name of the pills (completely doubting the credibility of the JW). and you wont be able to guess what i found in wikipedia...

'This medication may be prescribed to institutionalized individuals who suffer from depression -- temporarily enhancing their emotions, including those of alertness, speediness, and even perhaps anger. Repeated usage may increase the chances of these aforementioned symptoms....'

HA!!! apparently she thought i would suffer from depression because my skin was peeling and i was at the verge of committing suicide or something!! OMG!!! she totally tried to kill me!!!

anyway, just another short extract from Windy's consultaion with the JW a few days before i went. Windy was having some infection on her right eyelid.

Windy: hi, the previous doctor gave me this antibiotic cream. but the infection doesnt seem to be getting better.

JW: its no longer an infection. its only the thickness thats left. (she definitely said that! what on earth is thickness on eyelid????)

Windy: but its not getting better.

JW: CANNOT BE!! YOU MUST HAVE MADE IT WORSE YOURSELF!!!

*JW started drawing Windy's eyes on the card*

on the wrong eye somemore!!!! but of course, Windy couldnt be bothered to correct her. Windy was totally like 'I MADE IT WORSE?!!!!

JW: i will give you some other cream. you apply it every 3 alternate days.

JW: you must be gentle. you must treat your eyes like jelly.

ya right.. treat your eyes like JELLYYY????

loves pretty things
