A little Spud for you

Spud can't decide whether to laugh or cry here - we thought it was cute!

Our little "Homey" - doesn't he look like a punk? I love it!

Dylan's Blessing

Steve blessed Dylan last Sunday, November 1st. He did such a great job with the blessing - made me (and our parents) so proud! He is such a good daddy! Thanks so much to everyone that joined us and those who brought food too! We had a great day! We actually had a great weekend as we also attended the temple with the Hanson's on Friday. Jeff went for the first time and will leaving on his mission to Everett, Washington on Dec 9th!
The little man of the hour!
Our happy family!
Grandma Rolayne & Grandpa Hanson with their first grandchild!
4 Generations of Hanson's! Great Grandpa Nolan, Grandpa Sam, Daddy Steve, and Dylan. Grandpa Nolan had one son and one daughter. He has 6 grandsons, 2 great grand daughters and now a great grandson to carry the name another generation.

Happy Halloween from "Spud"

We just had to make "Spud" a Spud for Halloween!
I think we did a pretty good job with his costume. Thanks to my mom for her help with the Potato part! He slept right thru the "Trunk-or-Treat"
He was a cute little doctor for the early part of Halloween - these scrubs were a gift when he was born. He was almost a guitar - but he obviously didn't want to be!
He was also almost a chicken. My mom bought this at DI just in case Mr. Potato Head didn't work out! Hope you all had a fun Halloween. Spud isn't sure how he feels about it - but he sure was cute in all his costumes!

Spud's official announcement!

Sorry to those I didn't send one to - we have lots of family that came first! I spent like $40 on postage! And all with the wrong date for his blessing - it's on November 1st (not Oct 18th - which is regional conference and they don't think the whole region wants to attend our baby's blessing - can you believe that!?) Let me know if you want to come!

One Month Old

What an adventure September has been! The best, strangest month of my life! Lots of adjusting to do - but I think we are doing pretty well. Our hearts have grown quadruple their "pre-Spud" size! We LOVE this little man so very much! Beware, there are like 15 pics of him below! But, my sister moved to dang St. George right before Spud was born and so has not seen him since he was brand new! She needs pictures, and that's what blogs are for right?! Maybe I should blog more often so my posts aren't so long though huh?
Who is cuter than Dylan Hanson? I keep just missing his smile, which he is doing a lot more of these days! We got some cute happy faces though!

Not his best photo - but I had to post for my sister because I think he looks so much like my nephew Brayden sometimes!

GAME NIGHT!
These are from Monday - which is when Steve has softball. So, we put Spud in his baseball duds - but we didn't make it to the game because it was at 9:30 pm - maybe next time. His little outfit says "Daddy's All-Star."
Some more of his cute/funny faces!
His mohawk looks a little out of control in these pics - it is cuter in real life! His cowlicks just kinda make it go together and stand up like that - and it stays that way even if you try to comb it down, pops right back up!

He really loves his Daddy - they are so cute together. Steve just stares and laughs at him all the time and says "Can you believe how cute he is, I can't look away, he's mesmerizing!" Here they are having a staring contest.
This day I combed his hairs all flat to his head to see how he would look - cute, but goofy!
This is one of Steve's favorite faces of Dylan. He loves to be held like this - makes his gassy tummy feel better I guess! Spud's first trip to Granny Annie's house in Orem. She needed a "Dylan fix"!My mom is the first person he smiled at - and he just keeps smiling at her! He loves her voice I guess. He smiled cute for Steve's mom too last weekend. He is finally starting to smile at me and Steve this week - but he held out and only smiled for Grandma's for a good week! He knows how to win 'em over - they'll be sneaking him treats before we know it!

2 Weeks Old

My sweet baby is 2 weeks old. Having a baby is such a time warp. It seems like he was just born yesterday, and like I have had him forever at the same time. I have been chillin' with Dylan in my apartment for 2 weeks - I've left the house like 3 times! It's amazing how one tiny little person can make you forget about everything else you had going on in your life. I had been so stressed about work, church stuff (I got released from RS presidency today!), trying to buy a house, etc. up until August 30th! Now I could care less about anything going on outside my front door - both of us just eat, sleep, and poop all day (and change diapers, and do baby laundry)! I love it! We went to the doctor today and he now weighs 9 pounds - he is in the 50 percentile for everything. Just an average guy - who is ridiculously good looking!

My sister-in-law found this shirt and obviously had to buy it even though it is a size 4! "Spud" seems to have stuck to the poor kid!
Me and Spud doing what we do best - hanging out in our PJ's all day!

Our first outing - we went for a walk on the Parkway a couple days ago. Steve calls this deluxe travel system a "baby cadillac".

He loves to sleep with his arms up like this - so cute!
Grandma Rolayne with Dylan - she sure loves this guy and loves being a grandma, finally!

Announcing Dylan Ronald Hanson

Our little "Spud" is now Dylan Ronald Hanson. He and Stephanie are doing well. He was born Sunday, August 30 at 2:56pm and weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and was 21.5 inches long--pretty big for a potato.
He has two cowlicks on the back of his head, which cause his hair to form a little mohawk, and he is covered with man fur on his arms, back and ears. He had a little jaundice, which required phototherapy/bililights (see pictures in last post), but we went back to the hospital today and he is 100% healthy! The bililights made him look like a glow worm or a space alien from planet Smurf who is here to explore our fine ski resorts.

40 Weeks . . . . .

Not loving posting pics of myself being this huge... but, here I am, 40 weeks pregnant!
Notice my little baby count down over there on the side bar has no "days left"?! Why does my Dr. say I have 2 days left? I will have to straighten him out if I make to my next appointment. I am afraid that I probably will make it to my next appointment, on Thursday. By then I will be 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant! My sister keeps telling me to quit taking naps and get jogging - yeah right! But, by Thursday I'm sure a jog will sound pretty good!

My Cutie-Pants Niece

This is Ellie - my sweet, sassy, 5 year old niece! She is currently the youngest grandchild, until Spud arrives. She is a little squirt with a big personality. She keeps us entertained with her movie quotes, quirky ideas, & funny faces! If you ever need someone to be honest with you - ask Ellie - because you do look fat with that baby in your belly (like Grandpa)!
She found my squirt bottle/fan (my mother's day present this year) and got a big kick out of it!
She kept squirting herself in the face to make sure it was working. She also spent about 15 minutes styling Grandpa's hair. She would squirt and style and blow dry. There is alot of Grandpa's hair stuck in the fan! He is such a good sport!
This is on the 4th of July when we celebrated several birthdays. She loved the wrapping paper on this present from us so much that she slowly, carefully unwrapped the whole thing without ripping the paper so she could keep it! What 5 year old does that?
She did a good job with the paper huh? We just love this little thing!
