November 20, 2008 at 12:53pm Tove Jenson joined the family 10 weeks premature. He was 3lbs 12oz. He is now a week old and is continuing in stable condition at the NICU, where he will probably remain until January.

Seven Months Pregnant

I keep forgetting to take pregnant pictures!!! Sorry. So here was our quick point and shoot as we were running out the doot this morning. By the way... I made that shirt!!! Go crafty nesting!!!

Teething...

Squirt is currently getting in about 4 molars... NOT FUN!! We've been going through lots of Tylenol... but when the going gets rough... the rough get creative!! Apparently two pacifiers are just about right to sooth those hard to reach molars.

MORE IRON CHEF PICTURES

So It's really hard to move pictures around a blog post (it took longer than half a second to figure out so i gave up) so instead I'm just posting the other pictures in another post, ENJOY!!

IRON CHEF!!!!!

So we are the Young Single Adult advisers in our ward. And Michael came up with the great idea for one of our weekly Activities: IRON CHEF!! Just to begin with, it went fantastically.

Here's what we did:

We used a house with a larger kitchen area, and just had both teams compete in one kitchen.
We provided 5 surprise foods, all five of the foods had to be used, and at least one of the surprise foods had to be used in each of the dishes they prepared. The surprise foods this time were: Quartered Chickens (1 complete chicken each), Marshmallows, Corn Flakes, Red Potatoes, and Tortillas. (in retrospect, we feel that we underestimated our Chef's prowess and should have used a few more odd ball ingredients.

We allowed the Chefs to bring whatever foods and spices they wanted to bring.
The Chef's volunteered a few days previously, so the day of the event, they already had a few ideas. When everyone came, Each Chef chose four teamates, and the rest were judges or benchwarmers. We watched food network while we waited.

For timing, we gave both teams one hour and fifteen minutes to cook their meals. We then gave them ten minutes to put their food onto dishes and make it look good. Points were taken away if anything went over time.
It was a fantastic time.

I took a lot of video, in hopes to edit it and make it more Iron Chef-ie.

The toughest challenge turned out to be judgeing. Our chef's ended up being extremely good cooks so it was quite a challenge to decide the winner.

Learning Fast!!

So usually I just post pictures. I'll be honest... it's laziness. There are tons of stories I could be telling about Squirt and her many adventures... alas...

Anyhoo... I couldn't help but share what just happened moments ago. Squirt and I were playing on the floor, it getting very near to bed time, and i just turned to her and said "Hey, lets go upstairs Mom is getting tired." I just said it to say it, not thinking that she understood me at all... and what did she do? She stopped playing and started crawling right over to the stairs! I was in shock! My child understands way more of what I say than I give her credit for! So up the stairs she climbed everyone of them, with mom in tow, and she even helped me turn on her music for bed! My little baby is growing up.

Easter Egg Hunt!

We also had an Easter Egg hunt!! Yes I know... an Easter Egg hunt at a pool party? But I could so I DID!!

Pool Party!!!

We had a pool party for Squirt! It was a ton of fun!!! It was supposed to be at our neighborhood pool, but they had problems with their inspection and weren't able to open in time. So a quick trip to Walmart at 11:00pm the night before and... we got to have a pool party!! It was a riot!! There were about 9 kids all packed into that pool and having a blast!!! Good thing we got a big one!!!

Got Pho?

Does Squirt Like Pho? Why don't you like Pho? Are you too good for Pho? You should go to a Vietnamese Restaurant and make sure! Cuze Pho is amazing! We were so excited when we discovered the ONLY restaurant in town that had served Pho! it was OK, certainly not the best Pho, it was good Pho, but the kind of Pho that's the only Pho in town, and town has about a .000546578% vietnamese population to cater to. So there's no real competition, so it gets to walk around High School feeling like the football team captain, even though there's no rival school, and it's a combined freshman/JV/Varsity team. So there's no real way to see if they are any good or not, so any effort at all is decidedly the Best. Yeah, that kind of Pho.

Thunder Over Augusta!!!!!

Today we went to Thunder over Augusta! it was quite a festival! Squirt explored a tank, attack dog training, and all kinds of things military! we all had a good time!

Well I'm excited. This is the very SECOND time ever Squirt has crawled. She can roll, she can scoot backward, but today is her first time to ever crawl forward!!!!!!!! Enjoy the amazing video goodness!!!
